They finally upgrade blood of nardox for shamans and it is 1 counter per line, lol, what is the point of that. Should have at least been up to 15 per line, now it is just like Disinfecting Aura from lvl 52 only group version. Bummer. Even has the exact same mana usage as Blood of Nardox as well. Come to think of it it looks almost identical except for the lvl, the 1 counter and the name.
Guess the devs feel that it would be too powerful to upgrade very far. They like to leave room for improvement vs. giving us the end-all-be-all spell or ability. This newer Blood of Avoling (BoA) line does upgrade beyond just 1 counter per line but does so in the Rk. II and III versions. With the raid version of this spell you gain 3 counters per line. From 9 (Nadox) to 12 (Rk.III) is not a bad upgrade. Though BoA has a longish cast time (7.5 sec), it does have a 1.5 sec recast so you can use it again right after your spellgem cooldown. With today's foci, spell haste buffs and whatnot the number decreases quite a bit.
Leg armor foci minimum 15% detrimental cast time reduction (-1.125 sec) bringing that to ~6.4 sec.
Cleric spell haste Rk.II @ 10% (-0.75 sec) = ~5.6 sec.
If you have Underfoot tier 8 group armor or similar, your legs have 18% foci (-1.35 sec) = ~5.4 sec.
AAs, etc. can decrease cast time even more if you have them.
