Summoned with Minion of Eternity, given Omens pet toys, and buffed with Elemental Fury, it frequently (more often than not) hits for 152, and randomly hits for 246 with no critical message, although it crits for the same.

Don't think sony is letting us buy them to be nice to us lol.. see the price on some of the spells they just did it to eat up plat on the server
I am lucky to have the lvl 4 pet slippers, so when I summoned and had a yellow pet I was like OMG YES! level 72 pet with pet AUG, looking forward to getting the armor and mask, then watch out!!, also heard the fire pet nukes like a ****, so will be interesting to see what happens, looking forward to this exp big time.

Yes it is about time, sadly though, I'm still missing most of my level 70 spells. Being a type of character that must have ALL spells the whole 69/70 spells and Anchients is and will still be a drag to get unless they 'nerf' that to make them tradeable, but then the prices will be sooo outrageous that noone will be able to afford them in the Bazaar, unless you are already rich.
To answer all of your questions about the pet, with the DoN focus, he has about 9200hp, with only pet toys (burning shank, crystal belt, muzzle). Fully buffed with tenacity, shaman buffs, self buffs, etc, he can hit about 13khp, with is not a bad tank :). Mine hits for 154 max, with focus, elemental fury, and rathe's strength, his stun hits for 80 non-melee, and his avoidance seems to be slightly better than the 66 pet. With the qvic focus I have heard of this pet hitting for 165+. Hope this helps, and for all you mages that are trying to get to lvl 71, go solo crypt of decay, it's not much exp per mob, but it is exp, and it's easy, and it's soloable, so you get to keep all the diamonds and parchements that drop there, which keeps your bank seeing pretty good cash flow.
I can only imagine what this air pet will be like. I'll have to admit that I haven't had a chance to play as my Mage, but the regen on my focused 61 Air pet was sick BEFORE they upgraded out-of-combat regen for pets, and I'm told 66 Air is even worse. What's this one going to get? 1000 HP/tick? Quads for 150? Rampages, flurries, enrages and summons?

and that was a hell of a call that far back man, not far off at all as im sure youve noticed, lol, most of your guesses were right on
The pets regen's stayed the same starting with the PoP pets. all had 360/tick regen. Regen for pets from 61 through the newest pets should be the same percentage. I'm pretty sure that with the expansion, the pets regen is over 360 since my 66 air pet is regenning much more then it used to.
