 | The Ogre starts off in Ogguk and starts off hunting in the Feerrott and Innothule Swamp. Ogres are considered an evil race and are killed on sight in the good cities of Norrath. What is the best strategy for playing an Ogre? What zones and cities should you take him to and which ones should you avoid? Which factions should you work on improving, and which factions should you be wary of decreasing? How can you safely play your Ogre in the good areas? What are the best quests for the beginning Ogre? Where are the best shops? How should you role play your Ogre?

hello strong but not-so-smart ogres. do ogres make best warriors? they seem to have slam and + the only race that can't be stunned *i think*. also they can only wear large armor :(. is that a penalty? also their hated so is it worth a faction penalty for super high strength and stamina??

Ogers make the best warroirs heres why: first you have the highest starting str and sta (warroirs primes stats) during creation put all your ability pionts into Dex and Agi so there both at 85 very nice starting stats ok next Int this matters a little because it controlls how fast you learn skills oger has 60 beats so your tried with dwarves for int you have 8 more then trolls and 13 more then halfings. since you take a little longer to level then other races your skills useally all max out at each level.
my warroir now level 37 has theres skills maxed out 1/2 HS 1/2 HB peircing archery kick slam taunt and bind wound not bad.

I'm a newbie to the game and i am not sure if an ogre would be a good first guy. I think they look kick ***, they are actually my favorite just by lookin at them, but would they be good for a newbie? Also, if i would start one, many of my friends are starting in queno's, could i make the journey myself to go and meet them, or will it be too tuff.

Yes- My Ogre is only a few weeks old, but I enjoy him so much that I do not play any of my older char.s
They are hard to play.You are limited on where you can go and they seem to take forever to level up. Also the newbie zone you start in is very dark, dangerous and has few PCs. That is the hardest part, I have a hard time finding low level groups or casters willing to give any Ogre a bind. Just not enough Ogres in this world.
Don't try to leave Feerott or Innothule swamp in til you are ready. Maybe around level 12-15?? I am not sure. By then your friends should be higher levels and can come get you. just remember, at first you are KOS.

If yoo wanna get in good wid da gards in FP (da closesd hewman place)den yoo shood leeve da Feerott soon as yoo kin (get SoW an see if a nice hiyer lvl will help wid dat if yoo need to) an join doz orc groops in EC at round lvl 7. Den dem gards in FP not kill yoo wen dey see yoo wen yoo get bigger lvl. Mee try ta do da good races kwest wenever me kin if dey get me bedder facshin an not get me killd. I have an Ogre Warrior that I put 10 points into strength and the remaining 15 into agility [Base 150 Str, 85 Agi, 70 Dex]. Recently I've been second guessing myself on my choice of points, thinking I should have put those 10 (or maybe even 15) into Dex instead of Str, since at higher lvls Str will most likely be maxxed at 200 anyway, and the extra dex will help the dual wield/double attack/crits/procs.
Is there any benifit to having a str over 200, such as increased attack, or something else? Once one gets over 100 or so in Dex, does this really affect the rate at which the dual wield/double attack/crits/procs take place?
Would appreciate any other thoughts or insights on this.

I am a lvl 15 ogre warrior and i am hunting on kunark (long story) and i was wondering if any one knew of a place to train my warrior that was closer to cabilis than ogguk. I have been bashing goblins and rogue iksars every chance i get but my faction just wont come up enough to get in the city. I have been here fighting in the field of bone since lvl 7, but my faction hasnt budged. Maybe i'm being unrealistic but oh well. Can I train my warrior in the FV high elf town? Or am I KOS? Is there even a place to train my warrior in the high elf town? Thz for any help on this

Ok, want the ideal party of 6 evil dooers? Here goes...

The warrior and SK give you two awesome tanks, the shaman gives you the unique buffs of his class, the cleric gives you healing (and resurect on the high end), the wizard gives you ranged attack DD (and teleport on the high end), and the enchanter, well, enchants, plus having one in a group of friends means the people blacksmithing and can get all the high end magic stuff (cleric is helpful here too).
So far the best i can get is 5 of the 6 (we're missing the shaman), only 4 of my friends play and their's another guy we like enough to quest with, but this is an awesome combo as far as i see. Note i don't say the best combo (although it's certainly on the high end), but an awesome one to fight with, and good for RPing purposes too.

New patch made it so guards will at cities will attack you if you are in wolf form. So any shortcuts to getting faction up by doing quests while in wolf form won't work now. Keep that in mind.
No one will automatically attack you because of wolf form. It can however give a major faction hit that will usually bring your faction to a KOS level (glaring or scowling) unless you've built up faction, typically to kindly or better. The patch that brought this about happened months ago--pre-Velious I think--and made wolf form give a faction hit with barbarians in Halas for example. Other places where you take the faction hit include Firiona Vie, Qeynos, and Thurgadin. (Hardly a complete list, but it's all I can think of off the top of my head.)
I just tried going in Oggok in wolf form. Nearly everyone is indifferent to me, as they always have been in wolf form. The one exception I noticed was Fuga in the shaman guild, and she had scowled at me as long as I can remember. As far as I can tell no recent patches affected wolf form's effect on faction.

I was wondering, are Ogres KoS to evil Erudite gaurds to start out with? If so, what's the best things to kill to get your faction up with them?
I have an Ogre Warrior (loyale to Cazic-Thule) and I'd like to be able to buy and sell while hunting the Warrens. Thanks for any info...

there is one level 3ish guy in qeynos hills, and a couple 20s too near surefall glade... and reskin and toulus are 25, and sergeant slate is 40, he hurts. so qeynos hills is good human hunting
