Urrr!!! I feel like a human had just pulled on my tail. ROWR!!! A note to all Vah Shir Beastlords: If your gonna port to Norrath, buy your lvl 9, 15, 22, 30 spells while you can!!! Because if you port to Norrath, Shadow Haven is your only place for new spells! Halas: Same a Shadow Haven. They dont have ALL your spells!!! And until your lvl 31, Patog Plarg Fiends will kill you on your way back unless you got a chanter helping you out. ROWR!!!
I just made a Kitty Bard named Zongg (all the names I wanted were taken) anywasy I loved the moon and the great quest but the laggot the best of me. I made my drum, shield and cape and then got a port to Western Commons. I now call Freeport my new home which sucks because all my charactes are based there. Anyways I did notice that cats do have a beter hand to hand damage. No sure if its the higher strength or what.
If Anyone plays on Bristlebaine give my a tell saying hi. Maybe I can cook you up a snack since I took up baking (cats eat alot lol)
Any ideas on why this happens? The Vah Shir are showing up as humans on my computer. I have tried re-installing everything with no luck. It happened just after I deleted a level 1 Vah Shir and for some strange reason it gave me the option of clicking off the Vah Shir model in the options tab in graphics settings. I wasn't using it so I thought well i can turn it back on later.. NOPE and now I can't get it to turn back on. I am guessing there is a file that holds the setting information and maybe I could fix it that way.
I had that same trouble when I created mine. What I did was go into the EQClient file and added the models back in. I had example: ShowLuclinVahShirFemale=True ShowLuclinVahShirMale=True After doing that, they appeared without having to make any other changes to the Client file.
I was sort of wondering why the Vah Shir were looking like humans too. Do they evolve to look more like cats as you get higher in levels? Or is it like what bogard said?
Yes I do have the Shadows of Luclin expansion pack. The only ones that I have seen as cats are the palace guards, a few generals around the city and the king. All the rest are bald humans with different colored eyes.
I have just completed the quest for my Novice Cloak and my new buckler. I made the sweetwaters, created the jar for Merchant Ayyad, and turned in all of that to the guild. Now he says to continue my training I need to find someone by the name of Fharra Cawfeet. I may be rock-headed, but I swear I have looked all over Shar Vahl and cannot find this person anywhere. Any tips?
Here is some advice on starting a Vah Shir. Firstly, do the quests. You can be level 2 without even fighting in less than an hour. The experience is pretty good for the starting quests. If you are a powerleveler, Shar Val is not for you, best move onto the tried, tired and true path of crushbone, oasis, loio, fm, ot, dl, kc and vl. But if you are going to do that, why start a cat in the first place? Practically any other race has better stats for the available classes.
If you are about being a newbie all over again, Shar Val and the rest of Luclin is just lovely. The quests are new, you can get decent armour and weapons at your level for all classes and the surrounding zones are well thought out. Paludal Cavern acts as a limiter, keeping the Vah Shir newbies in Shar Val and its surrounding zones until they are experienced enough to handle them.
If you can't tell, I have fallen in love with Luclin.
I disagree on powerleveling near Shar Vahl. Paludal Caverns is the place to be to gain xp once you are 8th all the way up to 25th. I spent a weekend and brought a Bard (which was collecting dust) from 6th to 21st. All I can say is Shrooms, Shrooms and more Shrooms. After shrooms pan out then move on to the bandits. All the shrooms I soloed but when it came to the bandits, I did need some help until i got close to 22nd. Im thinking there is a bonus there because the xp is ungodly. Beats the heck out of CB.
Just a real short easy question, can Vah Shir wear plate? I've heard several rumors that they can't and other that they can. I'd REALLY like to know before I make my kitty warrior.
Oh if they can't wear plate do they have a plate equivilant like iksars warriors do?
Hello all. I'm a sorta newbie to tis game, but i wanted to make myself a Vah Shir Beastlord. I was wonderin if ne one would be so kind as to hint me on some stuff that would be good to start with. Such as, how many points should i put in each thingy (str, sta, wis, int, wis...) b4 i start. also what qests r good fer a lvl 1-5 VS BST. hehe thnx in advance!!!
<May the road rise up to meet you, may thewind be always at your back.> an Irish Blessing
For a beginning Vah Shir Beast Lord, your guild gives you the quests and will get you up to at least lvl 13. points they recommend places try to put them evenly. They suggest playing other classes with pets before this one because at lvl 9 you'd get a warder but a warder is unlike any other pet. If you decide to make a Vah Shir Beastlord, I wish you the best of luck and all the xp you can handle.
Actually if you follow the guild quests they will probably take you much higher. I am currently lvl 24 and have just started collecting materials for the combined class weapons quest (Sonic Wolfbane Claws). Also, since Ahom Ghuzin(sp?) is confirmed to be in the game it appears that the quest line goes even further. Perhaps even leading into the beastlord epic weapon quest.
One of the things I like most about playing the Vah Shir BST is that I have been so busy working on the class quest and raising my tailoring and smithing(for studs and bonings) skills that I haven't had to worry about leveling at all. I have leveled just fine as I hunt the MOBs appropriate for the next portion of the quest.
My acrylia slate was accidentaly destroyed. I got another one made, but cant seem to start any quests now. (i give em the slate, they either keep it or give it back) I spoke with one of the useless guides, who said there is a way to start over, bu couldnt say much more than that... anyone know how?
I just started a Vah Shir and the Registrar told me to go to the tax collector and get a seal and while I was out go to Mignah for an acrylic slate. Where do you find Mignah? I have searched all over and cannot find this person.
It depends on what you want to be more, something evil or something good. Vah Shir are able to wander into most of Norrath's cities, while Iksar are considered pariah everywhere except Kunark (so if you plan to travel ~ you'll have a lot of faction work).
Also, though Iksar do get several advantages, they still have an experience issue, so it takes them longer to level than it would a Vah Shir.
Just a question of curiousity, where does one get the sword and shield being carried by the Vah Shir guards in Shar Vahl? Not concerned with the stats, just think that they look cool.
You have to kill the Vah Shir guards in Grimling Forest. They are No-Drop items, and though the shield is nice (at 0 weight), I would think a cleric of your caliber would have something better.
I quickly run to the left. AHHHH! nothing but rooms full of my furry friends. i run right. AHHH! nothing but more furry friends. i run forward. AHHH! darkness, no light can't see. how do i get out of here? where is the exit? how can i get out of the var shir starting point?
by the way, i asked someone and they told me the citizenship thing was for some quest, or allows you to preform some quests for the var shir. i hope that helps with your problems.
AAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!! note: i have only screemed three times before and this is the fourth; 1) when someone pulled the whole zone 2) when i got lost in black burrow 3) when i kept on falling from kelethin (man how do you find you way around in there) another note: i get lost easy, can't you tell?
Can anyone tell me what i'm surpost to do with this letter that i got. i got it after handing the letter to the guild. so if and one could help me i would really like it thank you
You are supposed to take it to the registers office which is in a room opposite the south gate. that is part of your citizenship quest after that you hit the bank a bar on north gate, back to register, king, register then guild..after that you can start your guild quests easy enough eh??
I think the Vah Shir get a slightly better damage rating on hand to hand, regardless of class, when unarmed. Vah Shir do get Safe Fall regardless of class; like the Iksar get swimming.
Actually, they probably should have something to compensate for their overly lackluster stats - other than safe fall, that is. Don't know if it would be practical to give out a monk ability such as tiger claw though, might upset those human and iksar monks.
Well, actually, Shaman are perhaps one of the most useful classes after the enchanter, and the Imbue ability, while interesting, it honestly rather impractical and worthless (in my opinion, though it is an excellent roleplaying tool) since it makes items usable only by specific people following specific gods, and sometimes the imbued stones come with penalties as well (ref: Tunare imbued jewelry). Shaman still are awesome, even without this one spell.
Can anyone tell me what the first shaman quest is to collect in Shar Val? Its been a while since I've played my kitty shaman since I've been having computer problems...
Where , Other than Luclin can we train? So far VAH are KoS to Bouncers at gate to Ogguk, and Barb Trainer in FV wont talk to Vah Shir. and without someone Invising you all the way Through the Paludal Caverns a lowerlevel VAH BST will never get back to his city from the nexus (sneak doesnt always work)
I can see the Bouncers in Ogguk hating you (Vah Shir are good race) and you can train at any guildmaster that will not kill you. You are right on track with the Sneak ability. If it doesn't work the first time then try again until sneak takes hold. You have to get behind the trainer when sneaking or it will not work.
I could not train in Freeport but Sneak worked just fine and I got behind the trainer and voila... training window. I have yet to try it in other towns.
