You can find out if you've completed a quest or not, and where you are in a quest by checking your journal. Alt + j or ctrl + j, I'm not sure which one. Very handy tool.
Did you give registrar Bindarah the acrylia slate and the stamped scoll? Yes I had my citizanship. I started the quests, left and came back to where I left off. The NPC's are not allowing me to continue. I don't know who has my papers or slate. I have backed tracked to where I left off and can not continue.
I seem to have misplaced my citizenship and slate. I backed tracked on the quests and I am unable to regain my citizenship and slate again. I need them to continue my quests. Can you get a new citizenship?
I actually have a follow up question. How can you tell if you've completed the citizenship quest?
I completed the Tax Collector's seal portion and Mignah, the Registrar, says that she will not even discuss a replacement slate with me because I am not dedicated to "our cause."
If you do the hallowshade war (in hallowshade moor) and let the grimlings take over... the grimling guards at the fort will often drop Shar Vahl Garrison Shield and Shar Vahl Garrison Sword. These are identical to the ones the guards use but have no stats and a poor ratio... looks great if you're a vah shir who can 1hs, though.
There is also a long and drawn out quest for a high-end shield that is identical to the guards' shields. It's very involved though and not worth it unless you're a wisdom caster, from what I've heard.
Okay, I got a problem. I have completed some of the first quest, I have gotten the form from the Registar and got it stamped by the tax collector, but when I got to Mignah and Hail him, he just tells me to give him molds that noone else will buy and nothing about the personal slate I need to give the Registar. I have tried asking him about the personal slate, but he will not answer any questions, what do I need to have him make me this slate? Did the tax collector give me something that I may have dropped by accident, if so can I get another one. Is it in the bank?
train hand to hand man .... 2h blunt is good for pking.... but on the most part use hand 2 hand weps... i use rukjarian stone knuckles and zekhas katar ... both punching weps ... for pks i use staff of flowing water ... goodluck and level fast man
Hi new to here and fairly new to EQ as well. I have a Val who is a LvL 11 Beast. I can't seem to find any decent quest and was wondering where the best place to go to gain exp and money would be. I have tried grouping but no one understands me for I made the mistake of creating this char on Firiona Vie so I know no other Lang and no can understand me. Any sugestions would be great.
Paludal Caverns is the place to go. You can solo near the Shadeweavers Thicket entrance very easily. Fastest experience in the game for your level. The loot is pretty bad though until you start grouping near the Shadow Haven zone.
HEy didn't they make all races/classes/dieties have newbie quest armor in the July 10 download? I can't find the recipes on this site. If you could tell me if the Vah Shirr even get newbie quest armor or not? and if they do maybe the recipes and how long it will take to fully get it. Any answer is apreciated. Thank you
the Vah Shir do have a newbie quest armor.. its called ghulam armor, and all classes get this armor.
However it is very hard to obtain even some of the smaller peices let alone the major ones. The compontents for the tunic are rare drops off of even rarer mobs.
I personaly think that the Vah Shir should have diffrent newbie armor quests for all of the classes, but thats just me.
My Bard, Mewse, now has the sketches needed to make Sonic Bane Weapons for the Vah Shir quests. If you are on Bertoxxolous Server and want to trade parts look for me on-line.
cats can track also... better hearing than dogs. They may not use their noses, but if you've owned a cat I'm sure you've seen them "track" AND "stalk" something. Also, in the eq descriptions and the books it SAYS that Vah Shirs are great trackers, that was the point I was making.
True, but Barbarians, Ogres, and Trolls do not get Safe Fall (unless the Barbarian takes the rogue class). Slam is useful but so is Safe Fall. Try being a kitty bard running across one of the mountain zones and you will see what I mean.
Don't forget sneak! Not nearly as useful as Safe Fall I'm sure, but when you need to sell to an apprehensive or dubious merchant, get behind them, sneak until they con indifferent, and get better prices!
im disappointed that the Vah Shir class gets no robe graphic , actually equipping one can turn into a pain later, if someone casts an illusion on you, or u use an essence potion, you wind up getting bugged :/ other armor graphics fail to show up :/ can also happen when zoning or going LD, or even logging while robe is equipped, heh recently found all this out while using my Bsts new Lungi of the Forbidden :/
My wife is working on her Vah Shir Warrior quest. She mistakenly gave her cloak to Armsman Khaigesh when she ment to give him her buckler. Now, because later she will need to give Khaigesh her cloak along with other quest items, Khaigesh kept her cloak. She lost her cloak about 5 days ago this way. My question is, now that she has nearly finished with the other items she needed to give Khaigesh with her cloak, when she turns in the other quest items will she get the Cloak of the Khala Dun Apprentice like she would if she turned everything in together? I've thought about starting a throw away warrior so she could start her citizeship quest and then her warrior quest over, but I'm not sure that will work. Any help would be appreciated.
A new Vah Shir newbie cloak can be multiquested. This is done by creating a disposable character (class of the same for the cloak), doing the citizenship quest and obtaing the note and the slate. The disposable char gives the note back to the guild master and receiving character then gives the slate and will then get the newbie cloak. If you lost an upgraded cloak, then you'll have to start over and upgrade again. But if it was the first cloak, you are in luck. You can do this with two different accounts at the same time, or on the same account. You simply camp your main character at the guild master. Then make the newbie trash character. Hand in the letter from Registrar Bendah (sp?) and then camp out, log on the main, give the slate to the guild master, and you got your cloack (and slate) back. I did this with my warrior because, like a doofus, I destroyed my newbie cloak.
Yes so long as the server hasent been reset cuse if it has bye bye cloak cuse thay reset quest as well!
Now if it has dont give up hope just redo all steps on a new character have them turn in there cloak but not all the rest then log oregenal character on and turn in stuff lol most quest this is so with thats why thay call them MQ for multi quested meaning more than one person can turn items in.
There is a way to slow down your food consumption just find a ranger who can forage a plains pebble for you then find someone to imbue it halves your food and drink consumption.
Actually the weird thing about the Plains Pebble is any religion can imbue it, as long as they are the right class to cast the spell. This may also mean that the food consumption reduction will work for anyone as well. At least, I have never heard of a religion restriction on that attribute.
Usually imbued items only work for worshipers of the deity for which is imbued (in this case Karana). Since Vah Shir are agnostics I don't believe your idea would work. If the item says Deity: Karana on it then it only will work for worshipers of Karana.

Posted:Feb 25 2003 at 1:35 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Let me tell you about an idea i had one day. I was running through Grater faydark and i had accedently attacked a nexus at the wizzy spires. Needless to say that i was killed Instantly. I was extreamly mad because i lost my exp. Through my hatered i studied the creature and i devised the most extravagant scheme ever. I was wondering if my fellow Citizens of norrath would aid me. Darkies and Lighties come together in a mass horde to take one down. "What's in it for me" a person might ask. Well i think that not only the feeling you get from uniting with all of the inhabitants of norrath to squash a common evil but a great possibilty of an uber pay off and Extream exp or maybe nothing just a cold hard defeat.I am not really sure if they drop anything or if they even give exp. They are most likely the least killed Npc in the game. I have heard of one or two being killed but to my knowlage no loot has ever been identified. There are only a couple of reasons why i have not been able to find the loot items either 1. The uber guild who took one down came up with an awsome item that they dont want to get nerfed because of 1000000 crying lowbies saying its too powerfull so they did not add it to new item lists 2. None of them have ever been killed 3. Normal Loot for lvl of mob 4. No loot :( Now i am not really sure yet of the master plan but i am thinking along the lines of a massive head on attack group attack at random with no aperant stratagey.A person could even make a mule char and lvl to 5 or 6 toe just for this battle.Toe to Toe with the Unchecked Evil of the world. Or i have got a more methodical aproach. Either way i could be just stupid or really tired but that is my idea and i am willing to set up shop on any server. e-mail me at massive_nexus_strike@YHAOO.COM if you have any ideas, you want to join (( lvl is of no importance 1-65 doesnt matter Class either warriors clerics shaman monks i am in need of warm bodies :) )) or you just want to flame about how stupid i am either way i will welcome your emails and i will try my very best to email you back .No matter what it says. More information on nexus is always welcome. E-mail me and give it a chance.
Agian Smelly finger guy makes me angry. I thought i told you to stop picking on crazy weaklings. You know and I know that [s]he is a noob and doesnt really know whats going on. Good job teaching etiquette to an unkowing person but it came out like you are angry or insulting him/her. All that you are going to do is scare them off from posting on boards anymore. Again lower your head in shame and go wash your hands.
I had a few questions about this new race.((well new to me)) I was wondering if they make good warriors? I know and accept the fact that most if not all people that post here are Vah shir and there opinion would probably only show the cat people in a good light. I just would like an answer better than "VAH SHIR ROCK" or something corny like that.
Vah Shir make fine warriors. 3rd best race for starting stats as warriors. Ogres and barbarians have better starting stats. But barbarians can't see in the dark. I believe Ogres do have a slightly higher experience penalty. Vah Shir eat & drink twice as much but regain fatique twice as fast. Vah Shir can see in the dark and get limited Safe Fall skill (very handy at times). Ogres have the nice advantage of being unstunable from frontal attacks. Ogres are ugly. Ogres have much higher STA which gives more HP at the higher levels.
I think that covers most of the advantages and disadvantages.
Let us not forget the Troll when talking about Barb and Ogre warriors. While their stats aren't quite as impressive as the ogre, they do receive a higher innate HP regeneration, an invaluable asset to any warrior. Less down time healing, more time squishin froggies.
Thank you very much for your help. It was quite insightfull. I can see most of the advantages and disadvantages now. I have a few more though. I was wondering if the Vah Shir are lighty or darkies? Can they shop in most towns? What kind of armor can i look forward to geting? I know they cant wear certain types. Is that a big restriction? Again thank you very much for the answers and anyone who can answer these questions please do because it would help me alot.
Vah Shir are considered a 'Good' or 'Light' race. They can wear medium or large size armor (only class restrictions apply) like barbarians. They have no newbie armor quests based on class (although there is a newbie quest for an AC 16 tunic; I forget who but its listed on this board). Vah Shir can shop in most good towns. There is one thing to remember, just like Barbarians, there are a lot of doorways in Kelethin and Firiona Vie that you just cannot fit through (like the banks) without a shrink spell.
Last night I got fed up with Shar Vahl and decided to take my L1 Vah Shir Rogue to Qeynos which I know well from my Ranger experiences there.
I figured I'd take him down to the rogue's guild to see if they'd train me (handy if I'm hunting and levelling in Qeynos) or tell me to go away/kill me whatever.
So I find the hidden entrance in the underground cavern. I find the door, open it... and can't get through.
I'm stuck, no way out of the cavern but that door and I can't fit.
I need to find someone to gate me, shrink me or defeat me (easy) in a duel to get out of there.
Let this be a warning to all.
P.S. If anyone wants to help, the char's name is Shavik on Vaezelle.
If you're under level 10 and get stuck anywhere, just attack an NPC. They will easily kill you, and you will respawn outside town in the newbie hunting area.
I did the same thing with my Vah Shir Rogue, relocated to Qeynos. I couldn't fit through the little gate to get into the Rogue guild at first, so I pressed 'd' to duck and squeezed through nicely.
Again Thank you so very much for the information about the cat creature/people. You a truly a scholar. I had other questions if you have the time to answer. I was wondering if it is terribly difficult to get a shrink spell for the cat people? Is there an item or something like that? Can the cat people/creatures Swim? I know cats hate water.((well mine anyway)) how about weapons. Are they restricted in anyway like that? Weight wise are they heavy? Can they use their claws instead of punches?((like the iksar can use their tail)) Again thank you. If you get time it would be nice to have answers to these questions.
Only domestic house cats dislike water. Most wild cats don't mind a good swim. Ask any tiger. Vah Shir swim like anyone else (except Iksar and Frogloks who get a bonus). Shrink is a shaman/beastlord spell. So, if you are those classes getting the spell is a question of being high enough level. You can buy Ant Potions from player shaman, also. Weapons are only restricted by class. Since Vah Shir are agnostic they cannot use any deity specific weapons or armor. I believe that Vah Shir get a very small bonus for using claws (unless they are beastlords) in hand to hand combat. Nothing I have noticed as significant. Any class can fight bare handed (or clawed). It's just that monks and beastlords are much better at it. Iksar monks can use the tail rake attack but I don't think any other class can, even if they are Iksar.
Ogres have the highest STR starting stat. Barbarians are next. Dwarves and Vah Shir are about the same and are third. Starting STR on Vah Shir is actually pretty good. Quite adequate for any of the melee or hybrid classes.
Actually Slipskin - that would be Ogres have the highest STR starting stat. TROLLS are next. Barbarians would be 3rd. For some reason you just keep leaving out trolls. You need to remember that they are similar to the ogre and they come next in the race list for having the highest STR/STAM. Just thought i'd fill you in on that so that you'll know next time ;).
I've been playing a Vah Shir Beastlord since Christmas, and I noticed on the Luclin box, it mentions horses. I've seen a few posts here and there about horses and that they are rather expensive. My question is, where do you get these horses? Are there horse traders somewhere on Luclin?
Horses can be bought from NPC's in the Bazaar. If you are a caster they can be useful since you can meditate on a horse while moving. If you just want one for speed get a Spirit of the Wolf spell instead or become a bard. Much cheaper in the long run.
i know that anyone can see a vah shir skin, but can you only play one with the sol expansion, or does any expansion above that one have vah shir as a playable race?
The announcement by Verant of the new expansion, Legacy of Ykesha, included information about the new playable race, the Froglok people. One point that immediately caught my eye is the fact that the Frogloks will have Ultravision (Class 2 low-light vision) as an innate ability. However, when Luclin was released, the Vah Shir were only given Infravision (Class 1 low-light vision, about half as good as Ultravision). Considering that cats in the real world having excellent eyesight and are able to see in almost complete darkness, wouldn't one think that a race of cat-men would share this ability? Why would a race of frog-men have better eyesight than a race of cat-men is my main point.
If possible, I would like to organize a petition to Verant to upgrade the innate eyesight of Vah Shir to Ultravision. My only problem is that I have no direct means of communication with them, and they only provide means of suggestion submission via emails that (in my opinion) rarely or never get read, and are never replied to. If you would like to help organize this petition, please post a reply to this message saying that.
Probably, because the Frogloks of Guk are an underground dwelling race just like the Dark Elves of Neriak. So, they get UV just like the Dark Elves.
Vah Shir get infravision like all the other nightvision capable surface dwellers (wood, high, and half elves, trolls, and ogres).
The exception is Gnomes, who get IV but dwell underground. Why? I don't know. But they are gnomes. Who cares? <just kidding>.
Honestly, I am very happy with IV for my Vah Shir Bard. Vah Shir rogues and bards that really want UV can go to Lower Guk and get the DE illusion mask that gives UV when worn. Frankly, I don't find UV to be that much of an advantage over IV.
Maybe I havent looked enough .. lol .. but where can I find lists of what my Kat Shammy can and cant wear? I noticed they cant wear the Seb Scale Coat which the other Shammy races can. Any help would be great.
Ok...I got this game for christmas, an i have NO idea what im doing or what I need to do. I am a Vah Shir Shamin. I've already printed out all the maps that I need. But I dont know how to start out. I just need someone to show me the ropes. Please help!!!
Hey its not too hard if you get ported to qeynos just ask lvl 30+ druid and see if he will port you there.it may be free or if not use pop to go there if you have it.When you get there look for Omegaweapon i will help you out i an a beast lord (cat man same as you). Dont give up its a lot of fun.
P.s. most times i am on the weekends and i will help you get where you need and i will give you a lot of pp happy huntings
Porting a newbie Vah Shir to Qeynos is really not a good thing. Vah Shirs have the best newbie quests and newbie zones (except for Forglok newbs quests, which are just as good).
All newbie Vah Shirs: stay on Luclin, it will be much more fun! Think about travelling when you are 15-20... Before, it's not only useless but also a bad idea...

'Shaman' not 'Shamin'. Can't help it. I was a school teacher once.
What server do you play on? If we know what server maybe someone can meet you on line.
Did you try running the built in tutorial? It will show you a lot about casting, melee, maneuvering, etc. It is likely that your character will die a lot as you get used to the game. We have all been that route before, so don't feel too bad about it.
Hey hey hey - i know im almost a whole YEAR late on this post but for all you other people that like to read over a few posts while the EQ login is congested...I play a halfling rogue...and they really arnt that bad..Neither are the vah shir that i have seen..but since people have put up some of the good things about the vah shir..and there was a question about vah shir or halfling..im going to just say a couple good things about halfling ( i know this is under the wrong race but hey i might just go over to that board and post there too =p ). Halflings are small so they fit well through doors, if for some reason you have to run away from something thats kicking yer butt...ducking down wont be a problem [ducking will stop your auto run, and will slow you down greatly]. Another thing is..if your a greedy little son of a @#&$)@#$*% like me...you'll appreciate the size because when you disarm a mob you are the closest to the ground and you'll be able to snatch that fine steel weapon right up ;). Halflings dont take much food due to small size, they have bonus exp, they begin with 50hide 50sneak at level 1. Also, they have a nice starting Agi and dex so you can go ahead and put some points into your str/stam when starting out. Wells thats just a few things good about a nice little halfling rogue. I havnt used the vah shir race much but i have had 1 character who sadly didnt make it past level 14 because i didnt like the way they look when they run =p.
I have been playing my rogue and having no real problems. I have played a wood elf rogue and a vah shir rogue. I like the vah shir much better. Be warned though, the quest for your race is pretty annoying. You basicly will get to a point and have to put it on the back burner, until you level up some.
I play a half elf rogue and a vah shir bard. The starting stats for a vah shir just scream "Rogue!" The race was made for it. The big disadvantage I run into with my vah shir bard is size. A vah shir cannot fit through most doors in Firiona Vie, Kelethin, Felwithe, Rivervale and parts of Shadowhaven. That really puts a crimp on buying/selling to vendors. The other pain is food consumption. Vah Shir eat twice as much as anyone else. At the lower levels this can be a pain. One suggestion is don't throw away the 'Chunk of Meat' that drops off many animals. Its free food. Also, take up fishing and always have a stack of bait handy. Then you only have to buy drinks.
