By looking at the stats on some items I have found that:

It'd be nice if Verant incorporated something that obvious for once. However, if they did that, it'd ruin the 'only monks and rogues get safefall, DUHHHH' thing. So it'd be piling on a free extra skill. However, if it WAS an extra skill, maybe it'd be a race specific bonus, like trolls with regen, wood elves with foraging skills and gnomes with tinkering. So it's a possibility, I'd like it to happen, but we'll just wait and see.

True, but many of those skills cap really low for bards, making them practically unusable... not that this has anything to do w/ the VAH SHIR (not val shira) other than bards were mentioned as a class that they may be able to be.
I hope to GOD that Verant is smart enough not to give them Snare or Root line spells if they have BUILT IN SOW. If they do. I will find out where the head of Verant lives, go to his home and/or place of business, and pie him in the face.

Does anyone of sound mind believe this widespread delusion that the Vah Shir will have "built-in sow?" Ever hear of a severe game imbalance? Verant will never do that...Well, maybe out of a chromosomal defect, but not intentionally.

does anyone know what the one stat that the kitties will ahve over everyone else? i havent heard much on them all i can think other than the nightvision and sow would be a very high agility almost like ogres stamina bonus. just wandering

Actually...there is one spieces of dommestic felines, whos name unfortunately eludes me right now, who contrary to all common knowledge actually LIKE water. They are of german origin i believe and spend alot of time in lakes and rivers hunting water-fowl and fish.

The name of the cat is the Turkish Van, they are almost all white in color with a little bit of usually orange, black or sometimes greyish blue on their ears and tails. These cats are absolutly facsinated with water and love to take baths.

The domestic breed of cat that likes water, that I know of, is the Bengal Cat. Which in fact is a hybrid of a domestic cat and an Asian Leopard Cat, which loves the water.

Ok, I have to be the first to bash this particular race. Admittedly I know nothing about them, but just on principle alone I detest them simply because they are not of the trollen race.
Truth is cat tastes alot like chicken.

Hmmm, would be nice to have a built in sow for a bard though. That way you can start kiting with your first damage dealing song and not have to stack. Should ad an extra song interupt for random hairballs though.

... Right. You know. I'm only going to dignify one part of your post with an answer. I'm pretty sure cats don't meow at the moon, having one myself. They get pretty pissed off when another cat they don't know comes near them, but never heard them meowing at the moon. Built in SoW for a bard... That wouldn't make much sense, since bards rule all in speed. But hey, it's not like I'd turn it down or anything.

Geez when I heard about this new race The Val Shira, I thought that the Val Shira Cat people were gonna be literally BeastLords, say getting a new animal as a pet everytime you get new spells, but then I thought about "well then they would have to make a whole completely new set off spells for them". Anyways I know lots of people think that this expansion is a complete waste of time, but I think Ever Quest should expand the game as much as possible, you never know, what if you've played everything and are just bored. I know that adults, like the one guy who wrote about the Val Shira classes page, on the web site, hates newb kids, I mean kids, who ***** up the game by acting all big and bad, but this is my first RPG game I think I've everwasted all my time into and I love the game, love whats become of it, and looking forward to have a Val Shira race in my 8 character slots.

It would be soo cool if the cat race stroked their whiskers like trolls and ogres stick their hands up their butts. And I wonder what they'll do when they play instruments. Wonder what they look like in plate. Also how they jump. The jump will be cool. And if they have this innate ability to go on all fours and have sow built in. or soc for 40 seconds =). That would be wicked. KEEP SENDING THE INFO. WE NEED IT!!

Ok. Aside from the spelling errors. First, Verant will make whatever they damn well want to, because it's their game, and there isn't a damn thing you'll do about it. Second, in a medieval, fantasy world who the hell would think about casting a spell to teleport yourself to the moon? Certainly not me. There is already a Feline race, called the Kerrans, how is it ridiculous? Verant is trying to vary the game a little, they already have Trolls, Ogres, Lizardmen, why not Felines? If you thing this is dumb, then what about the Iksar? Walking, talking Lizards? And please, explain to me why Velious is so horrible. Because you'll never make it there? Really, relax and have fun with the game, that's what it is, and that's the point. Don't take it so damn seriously, you're missing the whole point. Go take your pills and go back on EQ, you're probably just cranky suffering from the pangs of withdrawal.

I wonder if these will have permanent sow like was first intended. Also, why can they be bards? The same reason iskar can be monks I guess. Because Varent wanted it that way.

Why not bards. Personally I think all races should be allowed to be bards. You mean dark elves, ogres, trolls, barbarians, etc don't know how to sing and dance? That's just my opinion though. Also trust me, Cats love to sing. My F@&%ing neigbor who lets her cats roam constantly are always "singing" in the middle of the night. Anyone want a free cat, next time they **** outside my backdoor, I'm getting a live trap and they are going to shelters.

They are going to be alrge, and so far I have read FAQs etc that they will be able to be any class. I also remember reading that they will be indiff to all, except the Erudites, which will be dubious, and that if you are KoS to kerran right now you won't be KoS to Vah Shira. However, after the portals to Luclin open, killing Kerrans will lower a seconds faction, that of the Vah Shira.

The Vah Shir are a proud race with a love for poetry and art, that's why bards and rogues are allowed to them (see the rogue as a noble who dislikes heavy weapons and preferes épées), they may not choose monks, as monks live in poverty, alway pushing their bodies to the limits and this way of living is just too "dirty" and uncomfortable for the Vah Shir.

also the fungal covered great staffs (rare drop in seb off guy that drops fungi tunic) which used to be dru shm only can be used by beastlords too. I might make a twink just because of it
