Finally got the Wings of the Drixie Queen, which drop off of Lady Chromoire in Firiona Vie. I had to kill her twice, as the first time she didn't drop any item.
First, I took the FV stone from PoK. Invised, then ran south along the zone wall when I got out of the tunnels. Spiders hang around this area and invis works on most of them. If you see one, con it, and if it's indifferent you're safe. I also saw a guard roaming this area, that I assume was hostile, so it's not safe to get in an engagement here. Once I hit the water, I swam around the outpost so I wouldn't have to worry about invis dropping. A bit east of the outpost, there's a shore that you can climb up on. From there, I continued east along the cliff to about -2800, -1400. This was my camp that I pulled to. Make sure you pass Tracker Azeal as you go east. He hangs around a certain spot and patrols west. If you are west of his post and are fighting, he may start his patrol and add. I found that out the hard way. Even though he was indifferent to me, he came to the aid of a pilgrim that I was trying to kill.
This was a pretty straightforward camp. I tried to kill anything (drovlargs, pilgrims, drixies) that was close by, if I had good mana and health. Drolvargs are straight-up melee mobs with no surprises. Pilgrims can be tough because they seem to be of different classes. The High Elf female did some kind of holy nuke for 200. The Halfling female didn't seem to have any abilities. There is a Half Elf female, a Dwarf male, and at least one other type. A shield is useful here to interrupt their spells with Bash. If your Bash timer is down and the mob casts a spell, cast a spell of your own (e.g. Lifedraw). The Animate Dead skeleton pet can also Bash, so use him if possible. Most of the pilgrims are able to heal themselves, so watch the timing on your Bash when they get low on health to try to interrupt it. Bashes aren't guaranteed interrupts, but at least it's a shot. Drixies use Fire and Cold nukes for about 180 and can cast probably at least 4 in one battle. They also Root and maybe Slow (either a pilgrim or a drixie does, I'm not sure), so if you have resistance gear, now might be a good time to use it. Several Dreadscale pieces have good resists. Drixies don't have many hit points, but they hit hard. EIther the pilgrims or drixies also use a lot of Lightning nukes for about 100. I tried Cancel Magic on a drixie that had a thorns damage shield, but it did nothing.
Lady Chromoire herself is about as tough as a regular drixie even though her level and hit points are lower because she will constantly nuke you for around 200 and has a damage shield (melee does no damage until the shield is destroyed). I didn't Harm Touch her, but assuming she wouldn't resist it, it would have taken a big chunk out of her and might have killed her outright.
The roamers make this camp a challenging one. There are no true safe spots, and there is always a danger that a pilgrim will run by from nowhere, see you and aggro. Yes, they do have a large aggro range, my guess is that it's around 80, i.e. a bit under half the range of most SK spells. Also, the pilgrims see invisible; con them while invis and they will be scowling. I am pretty sure the drixies don't, some spiders do, and the drolvargs do. Because so many mobs see invisible, you can't sneak in, assassinate with a HT to the back, then sneak out. Too bad. The pilgrims and drixies will fight the drolvargs, so sometimes you can pick off the injured winner. It can be amusing to watch them fight each other. Go Drolvargs!
I did this solo, and a party of three 39+ characters could probably do this easily and get some good xp. Keep your eyes peeled for roamers, keep a reserve of health and mana in case of an add or Chromoire pops. and stay frosty. Eventually the Wings and the Dreadscale Mask will be yours.
