Call of the Forsaken Info & Guides: Overview | Progression & Task List | Raiding | Visible Armor

About Heroic Adventures

- Heroic adventures in Call of the Forsaken scale in level: As low as Level 75 and up to current maximum level.
- Scale is based on the highest level player present in the zone and affects difficulty, loot quality, and mob levels.
- There is some variation/randomization in the task steps you'll be assigned as you progress through the task.
- Time of completion will vary by your group's makeup (anywhere from 30-90+ minutes).
- Collection items appear as ground spawns midway through tasks (you'll see an emote indicating their appearance).
- Named mobs (or their PHs) spawn midway through tasks (usually, but always, at the same time collection items appear).
- These tasks have individual 3-hour lockout timers (timer gained upon completion).

Experience in Heroic Adventures

- Mobs in these instances grant some experience, but the bulk of experience is earned upon task completion.
- As of a patch in November 2014, less difficult tasks were tuned to reward less experience and more difficult ones were tuned to reward more.
- For an added experience bonus, check out Guard Hamarn's "Daily Tasks".

This is a heroic adventure (1-6 players) that begins with the "Restless Spirit" (click for map image) along the western boundary of the courtyard area of the Keeper's Tower (far northwestern part of the zone, about 2120, 1405, -150).

Triggering the Task

You say, 'Hail, Restless Spirit'

Restless Spirit's voice booms from a distance, echoing loudly as if speaking from across the field, 'My brothers! This stranger sees me.' The soft whisper of conversation grows louder in the distance. The voice continues, 'We never thought this day would come, stranger. We must make haste with our request, should your vision of us be a fleeting dream. Please, stranger, will you exact [revenge] where we have failed?'

You say, 'Revenge?'

Restless Spirit's voice grows louder but still remains distant, 'Yes stranger, revenge, for we are the fallen, the forgotten, the broken and abused. The children of Ro hide us from sight but we are ever-present and ever-suffering. If you are [willing] to fight on our behalf we will reward you with the last of our worldly remains.'

You say, 'I am willing'

Restless Spirit's voice booms from a distance, 'Your strength shall prove our gratitude. When you are [ready], close your eyes and awaken to see the city as it truly is.'

You have been assigned the task 'A Posthumous Proposition'.

Your eyes have been opened to the presence of The Extinguished, the children of Ro whose flames have fully burnt out. They wish for you to serve as their arm for exacting revenge upon the living who have transgressed upon them during their lives.

You say, 'Ready!'

Restless Spirit's voice booms from a distance, 'May your day be bright and your nights short.'

I'm coming back from playing in 2014 and am working through some HAs so these posts have been more than welcome.

On this particular run I had last night, I actually got tasks for two steps at the same time;

20 x kill non_ember mobs
6 x kill imps

Not sure if this was a bug or not. They both completed okay when I reached the necessary number of kills - it just allowed me to work on both of them at the same time.

Also one thing not noted here, is that at the end, the last step is to Hail "A Restless Spirit". I didn't know where it actually spawned (although I did see one in the city at some point). I had to evac from the mines and when I hit track, I noticed about 5 of them were up and one was just by the zone-in.

The Restless Spirit you hail at the end is to the right of where you step out of the mines. 10 steps away and you don't have to go past the wall. The end NPC to hail is usually on "find" too.
Much easier now at 110

This was the HA on offer last night from Clayton Teek. Needing just about all the collectibles still from Argin-Hiz, I took my 3 toons there.

Steps I had:
- Clear the creatures outside the front gate
- Free the ash dervishes from around the Keeper's Tower
- Clear the mines of non-elven inhabitants

Inferno Vortex (named) spawned - and I was surprised that the blind dot landed on my raid geared healer, so he still isn't a total pushover. Just the knockback on my SK was a bit annoying but definitely an easier fight now. He dropped the Whirlwind Earring and Lvl 99 bard Rk. II song/spell.

I found all 4 collectibles in the mines - but I was thrilled that 2 more dropped from miscellaneous trash kills in the instance. Having to pull skeletons and spiders out from all the Sol'Dal elven mobs though was a royal pain. To be honest, there were much fewer of the SI golems back there than I remember when I did this at lvl 100 or so....they must have retuned it to be a lot more manageable now. Still, a major time sink if boxing like me.

With Lessons on before final hail, I received 5 AAs from the normal task and 11AAs from the Teek bonus. (Plus the old Marks currency and half-one merc AA from Teek bonus.)

51 AA's earned by a 105 with LotD running during a +50% XP weekend. Which means it normally pays about 17 AA's.

Finding soldiers in the mines is a challenge because of the see-all-invis golems.

If you don't go in this mission immediately, you have to drop the task and request it again to get in. I am not sure of the time. I had to do this because my group took around 10 minutes to get in. Once we were in the mission everything worked well, until we wiped. We ran back and the mission won't let us back in to complete it. I petitioned, as of now, this mission is bugged. Make sure at least one team member stays alive to rez back into the instance.

I would say it was 20+ minutes. This is the time the instanced zone cease to exists if empty. It applies to all instanced zones in all expansion.
This is the same rule as temporary items being lost after you camp out. You have 20 mins.

Went in with my rogue, level 100. seems easier than normal static zone trash. yellow con imps hit for 12k. white con spiders for 12,600 ( blue cons for 12,100). Was able to molo quite well (Ac is 8238 unbuffed). yard trash drops the same collectibles that spawn in the mines.

This step does NOT include "a laborer" as a sufficient kill for step completion..just FYI..so the statement kill any mob that are "not an ember" is inaccurate.

First time through this HA, I found all four collectibles inside the mines. What a suckjob that is, trying to scour the mines. The slag golems see invis and IVU too, so no easy run around and scavenge shinies. From now on, I'll just run my rogue inside and collect 4 in a couple minutes instead of unnecessarily clearing the mines of an extra 70 mobs.
This HA can be moloed..with skill hehe

Did this run tonight (100 Ranger w/ cleric merc)..first 2/3 was a breeze..killing 15 skellies, etc in the mines..not so much..not a bad idea to clear mobs around skellies/slags etc as the aggro range can get sketchy at times. Found one collectible on a corpse..2 ground spawn collectibles...like looking for a needle in a haystack..this is a fairly large zone..grounds spawns seem to be most common in the mines..found none anywhere else...good luck!!! ..P.S. Reward was 330 pp 2 aa's + 138 marks.
