Must be amiable to the The Dead faction. I couldn't do the quest until I raised it to Amiable.

i still have not been able to max out queen faction. even after doign this task 1,000 times ( yes 10,000 fire beetle eyes). I spend about 17 hours a week dumping eyes into this task, then fixing the other factions it lowers. I am at the poin that I am thinking queen faction is broken. and cannot be maxxed out. I have come across no other faction like that. So i went to experiment. I took a high elf wizard and started killing Dragorn in Leser Faydark. I have raised my high elf wizards faction with the Dead to Amiable and as soon as i went from indiff to amiable, I was able to get the box and do this task. I will continue and figure more out and post.
edit : i did max out on wizzie. and then on enchanter. only took 2 kills on ench. then went and fixed up everything else. just forgot to return here and post about it all.

I don't think there is any real point to maxing out the Queen faction unless they finally put the Throne Room zone in Neriak that they left out for whatever reason. For those who don't know, there is a place in Neriak where if you sit and stand next to a certain wall that you can see through the wall briefly and see a set of stairs leading down. Those stairs were originally meant to lead to the Throne Room but the zone was never completed/opened for whatever reason. I don't know if it had bugs that the devs couldn't fix or why it was left closed off. It may have had something to do with the firepots, that also never worked as intended and were deactivated.

As far as I can tell, this quest is broken. I got the box, filled it with fire beetle eyes, but the box would not combine after.

By the looks of things since the GoD update there seems to be a problem with some quest boxes combining, I've tried a few now and I'm still waiting for the fixes coz my bank is staring to get full :(

So i did the fire beetle eye quest..then he gives a new quest for a mammoth tusk and some Kharre<?> beetle eyes...anyone know what this gives?
The Kerran Beetle Eyes would be found on Kerra Island in Odus. You can get there I believe from a gnome transporter on the docks in Erudin.

couldn't figure out why this quest wasn't workin when i turned the box in. well, i lost all ten of my hard-earned (and hard bought, a couple of them) beetle eyes, got an empty box back, and then destroyed the box before i decided to ask my friend what was up... **sigh.....

this quest still works, just did it with my newb sk on prexxus
I did this quest last night on one of the PvP servers. I started a new Dark Elf Necromancer. When I handed my newbie note to the guild master in the necro guild, he told me to go talk to the necro at the top of the guild (sorry, I'm pretty bad with NPC Inky names). It is my belief (though I have not been able to verify this yet) that this step is required to initiate the quest (i.e. it can only be done once (unless you manage to get another newbie note, since they aren't no drop - I think) and only by a DE necromancer or DE shadowknight).
Again, I have not, as yet, been able to verify this. But this is my suspission.

I think it may be broken. Being a DE follower of Innoruk I have amiable faction but he will not give the quest, even when I ask nicely. (Tried not so nicely, no difference heh P)

I gave Noxhil V'Sek the box back filled with 10 fire beetle eyes. He replyed back "worthless Junk" and I got nothing in return. No money no experiance. Very frustrating for a non twink newbie who could of used the money from those 10 fire beetle eyes.

This quest is done by Innoruuk followers, shadow knights and necromancers, as the NPC that does the quest is the guild master of the Guild of Hate in third gate. You can easily obtain levels 1-7 using this quest and purchasing the eyes in the neriak commons at the main Inn, or on the troll side at various vendors there. The coin being referred to is the cash he gives you for the quest paying you what you would normally sell the eyes for at a vendor. Start off with this quest and do the red wine quest and you will have a level 8 necro or Shadowknight in less than 30 minutes of time. Good luck to you and your ways of evil factioning.

I found this quest while exploring my guild hall. I usually avoid being in Neriak cause it's so dang confusing.
anyway, at level 6 not quite a full bubble in, I was able to gain about 2 1/2 yellows of xp turning in about 7 of these chests, I think. I would hunt beetles, and also bears, wolves and spiders in the meantime (practicing my tailoring).
It's a really good quest for level and makes up for the fact that I get no xp for the beetles. Now that I know what the nectar is for, I will be saving it. :)

When you hail Noxhil V'sek at the top floor of the Lodge of the dead, he will ask you to do some menial tasks, and hand you a box with 10 slots. Fill this box with fire beetle eyes, combine them, and hand the box back to Noxhil.
He then gives you a small reward, and tells you he needs other components. Ask him which other components, and he will ask you to get him Kerra Isle beetle eyes (he will give you a box with 4 slots for them) and a 'wooly mammoth tusk'.

I have gotten Neriak Nectar and Rotgrub Rye as rewards for this quest (getting about 2 blue bubs of experience at lvl 5, btw). The Neriak Nectar is apparently not an alcohol, like I hoped, hee hee, since you can't right click on it. You eat the bread naturally, like food. Is the nectar in place of water?

Neriak Nectar is also a component for Shadow Temper (Smithing) used to make Dark Elf Cultural Armor.

The NPC in this quest is named Noxhil V'Sek, in the Shadow Knight/Necro guild.
The box is 10 slots but only holds extra-small items. This includes keys, gems, and a few other things. Overall a great container for just about anyone so that you dont have to waste space on all the menial things you have to carry around all the time.
i found this box to be useful to hold the patters for the armor quests. (lay off, im not twinked, so this quest came in handy for me)
