This task is the second in a series of three. It is a solo task that begins with Foreman Sukar (map) at the zone-in of the Breeding Grounds (-20, 0, 4). Pre-Requisites: - Level 85 - Completed "A Chilling Rescue" You say, 'Hail, Foreman Sukar' Foreman Sukar says 'The excavator you rescued claimed that he and the crew were recovering broken egg shells near a nest of frozen dragon eggs when suddenly one of them began to hatch. The noise drew the attention of an elder [frostwing] who immediately tossed them into the water with one swipe of her wing. Without hesitation the dragon released her icy breath on top of the water, creating a frozen grave for the crew trapped below.' You say, 'Tell me about the frostwing' Foreman Sukar says 'The frostwing are ice dragons that dwell within the Breeding Grounds. Like many of the inhabitants here, not much is known about their history, though we do know that a specific sect of frostwing call themselves the Va`Ker. We have made a lot of progress in our relationship with these dragons. It is surprising to me that the Va`Ker are initiating attacks. Something isn't right... I implore you to [speak] to their leader, Eyska, on my behalf.' You say, 'I will speak to her' Foreman Sukar nods with understanding. 'Very well. Be cautious, _____. While my crew has worked hard to establish an amicable relationship with the Va`Ker elders, it seems this delicate alliance has been recently rattled.' You have been assigned the task 'Treading Lightly'. Foreman Sukar doesn't understand why the Va`Ker have been attacking his crewmembers. He has asked you to speak with their leader, Eyska, in hopes that you will be able to repair whatever damage has been done. Find and speak to Eyska Va`Ker, The Broodmother 0/1 (The Breeding Grounds) Eyska Va`Ker, the Broodmother (map) is found at location 415, 500, 27 (end of the tunnel that extends from the zone's western-most cavern). Note: Two KOS drakes flutter at her side. You say, 'Hail, Eyska Va`Ker, The Broodmother' Eyska Va`Ker, The Broodmother scowls down at you, scraping her sharp claws across the ice in a threatening gesture. 'I will assume that since you speak for them, you belong to them; so repeat my warning to your masters: any who trespass within these caverns will meet their death. My brethren foolishly agreed to let your kind study our surroundings, so long as you kept away from our young. You betrayed your words by slaughtering my unborn children, and that grotesque act will not go unpunished! Now leave my chambers and do not return, or I shall spill your guts over this icy floor!' Return to Foreman Sukar 0/1 (The Breeding Grounds) Task Window Says: You should let Sukar know that Eyska claims his crew has been slaughtering her children. You say, 'Hail, Foreman Sukar' Foreman Sukar's face is filled with disbelief, 'The Broodmother claimed we have slaughtered her unborn children? This cannot be true. I handpicked the excavation crew myself. Each and every member had the utmost respect for dragonkind, and wouldn't dream of causing harm to the eggs within these walls. There must be another [hand] at work here. You say, 'What's at hand?' Foreman Sukar says 'Someone or something is destroying the dragon eggs, but I cannot fathom who. I suppose the quickest way to find out what is happening is to set up a scenario where we can witness the events ourselves. We can collect un-hatched eggs and place them around the Breeding Grounds as bait. Surely whoever is killing the unborn dragons won't be able to resist this lure. Before egg collection can begin, you'll need to create an [incubator]. The preservation of the future hatchlings is imperative! Also, you'll need to have Asupi mix an [Ashen Elixir] for you.' You say, 'What about the Ashen Elixir?' Foreman Sukar says 'If you've noticed, the dragon eggs within the Breeding Ground seem to respond to even the slightest movement. If you travel too close to the egg, it will hatch. This poses a problem, you see, since you'll need to be very close to the egg to place it in the incubator. Asupi is a Paebala who relies on his stealth to travel the caverns, scavenging for food. He has perfected a potion that will make you as quiet as a mouse, and as light as a drake made of ash. While he will mix this elixir for you at no cost, he does require some materials.' You say, 'And the incubator?' Foreman Sukar says 'Most of the necessary items can be found within the Breeding Grounds, though some will need to be fashioned using materials found or purchased elsewhere. While I am quite versed in dragon history, I know little to nothing of smithing. If you are anything like me, and lack the skills the fashion the incubator yourself, Irus Tindlefootin in Shard's Landing will be able to make one if you give her the proper materials and compensate her for her efforts.' Acquire a Dragon Egg Incubator 0/1 (The Breeding Grounds) Recover pristine ashwing scales 0/1 (The Breeding Grounds) Recover a drop of Chetari blood 0/1 (The Breeding Grounds) Task Window Says: Foreman Sukar has decided the best way to determine who or what is killing the Va`Ker is to collect dragon eggs to use as bait. You may craft a Dragon Incubator by combining Glowing Lava Rock, Planar Alloy, a Glass Disk, and a Mana Battery (Class One) at a forge. Additionally, you can give the needed items to Irus Tindlefoot in Shard's Landing, and she can craft one for you. Glowing Lava Rocks can be found on magma dragons. The two "Recover..." updates are not actual items - they are only kills (random updates from any "ashwing" and "chetari" mob, respectively). Note that ashwings are uncommon spawns as static mobs, but can be spawned with some frequency by stepping on eggs. For the incubator, this is a no-fail smithing combine: Mana Battery - Class One + Glowing Lava Rock + Planar Alloy + Glass Disk = Dragon Egg Incubator The Mana Battery - Class One is vendorbought or crafted (tinkering); the Glowing Lava Rock drops from magma dragons in the Breeding Grounds (found in the northeastern lava cavern); and the Planar Alloy (jewelcraft) and Glass Disk (jewelcraft) are crafted. Alternatively, you can hand in the following items to Craftkeeper Irus Tindlefoot (map) in Shard's Landing (in one of the tents in the crater's southwest): - Mana Battery - Class One - Glowing Lava Rock - Platinum Bar - Planar Energy Shard - Glass Disk --- 10 platinum You say, 'Hail, Craftkeeper Irus Tindlefoot' Craftkeeper Irus Tindlefoot shares a forced smile as she winces, 'Ah, a welcome customer. Hail to you, _____.' Her tone becomes slightly sarcastic, 'My 'brilliant' husband has insisted that we set up shop out here in this 'lovely' location to sell 'useful' wares to craftsmen travelling through. Please survey our wares to see if you are in need of anything.' She continues speaking in a whisper, 'I don't see why I couldn't just sell my own baked goods and save you the trouble of having to make these things yourself.' She shakes her head slightly still wincing and forcing a fake smile. She gives you a Dragon Egg Incubator in exchange for the above items. NOTE: using the Alternatively, way to obtain the Dragon Egg Incubator did not update my task but if you take the Dragon Egg Incubator to Foreman Sukar (The Breeding Grounds) and this will update your task correctly. Speak to Asupi Muksap 0/1 (The Breeding Grounds) Task Window Says: Asupi Muksap will mix you an Ashen Elixir if you collect the required ingredients first. Asupi Muksap (map) is located around 200, -350, -99 (from the zone-in area, head east into the narrow tunnels and to the northwestern-most room in those tunnels). You say, 'Hail, Asupi Muksap' Asupi Muksap uses his filthy paws to retrieve the necessary items from your grasp. With whiskers twitching, he places a few drops of chetari blood in a liquid-filled vial before crushing, then sprinkling in the drake scales. After a quick shake, he hands you the now cloudy vial with some advice, 'Drink before you go near any dragon eggs and you will not wake the unborn whelps within. Go near without drinking, and you'll be sorry... or dead. Probably dead.' You receive an Ashen Elixir. Use this buff for the next step. Use the incubator to collect dragon eggs (The Breeding Grounds) Task Window Says: Locate dragon eggs around the Breeding Grounds and use the incubator to collect them. With the buff on, walk over a dragon egg and click it. Note: If you lose the buff, you can return to Asupi for another Elixir. Failure to do this step without the buff will result in broken eggs. Note: Pets and mercenaries also break eggs. The dragon egg shrinks into nothing as the incubator rattles and feels slightly heavier than before. Return the Dragon Egg Incubator to Foreman Sukar 0/1 (The Breeding Grounds) Task Window Says: Give the Dragon Egg Incubator to Foreman Sukar. Foreman Sukar gives the incubator a quick inspection before nodding with approval. 'These eggs should work well as [bait].' You used a special incubator to collect dragon eggs around the Breeding Grounds to use as bait. "bait" leads into the next task. Rewards: 337 platinum, 5 gold Experience Here are the optional steps for those interested: (Opt) Give a Glowing Lava Rock to Irus Tindlefoot 0/1 (Shard's Landing) (Opt) Give a Platinum Bar to Irus Tindlefoot 0/1 (Shard's Landing) (Opt) Give a Planar Energy Shard to Irus Tindlefoot 0/1 (Shard's Landing) (Opt) Give a Glass Disk to Irus Tindlefoot 0/1 (Shard's Landing) (Opt) Give a Mana Battery - Class One to Irus Tindlefoot 0/1 (Shard's Landing) | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

Nelin Signus in PoK sells Mana battery - Class 1
I just completed this quest 04/15/16 and the planar alloy I made using Jewelcraft worked fine. I did the final combine myself in a regular forge in Plane of Knowledge (no fail 15 trivial combine) to make the incubator. Each part I made using my jewelcraft skill could be handed to other characters so that they too, could do the final combine on their own.
I did not see it here but you have to collect 3 eggs on each toon with the incubator and the room I picked only had 2 eggs, so I had to wait for respawn. When I had to go back to Muksap to get another Ashen Elixir, I just needed to hail him with invis off to get another and I had to make sure that the 30 min buff you get when you click the elixir was clicked off, otherwise he did not give me another.

We could pull singles from the ice cave, S/W off the Magma cave.
Ranger Harmonious does not work, nothing can be mezed.
Don't get to close to the egg to collect or it will spawn and attack.

Yes and no. Can't snare but can split them. She don't agro
casting the incubator doesn't invis.

I made a Planar Alloy with Jewelcrafting, though she wouldn't accept that. She wouldn't accept the 10 pp either until I had turned in all other items first.
to avoid tradeskills:
Pets and mercs will break the eggs even if you the player are buffed with Silent Steps. Mark yourself as puller and have your pet not follow you. Clicking the incubator does not break invis.
After 16 years, I'm not listing every friggin character.
