This is a pre-launch task leading up to the Veil of Alaris expansion, expected to be available only for a certain period of time ahead of VOA's launch. It begins with a gnome named Chief Wood Engineer Gilanspring in the Steamfont Mountains. He's found in the far southeastern part of the Steamfont Mountains. You say, 'Hail, Chief Wood Engineer Gilanspring' Chief Wood Engineer Gilanspring says 'Hrmf. I'm a busy gnome. We've got a massive [project] under way here, and I really don't have time to spare.' You say, 'What project?' Chief Wood Engineer Gilanspring says 'You don't know about it? Well I don't have time to go into details. You should talk to Olim, he likes to chat. Then again, if you have that much spare time, maybe you could use it productively by [helping] out around here.' You say, 'Helping, how?' Chief Wood Engineer Gilanspring says 'We can always use hands doing the non-skilled stuff. I think you'll be useful doing some of those [tasks].' You say, 'What tasks?' Chief Wood Engineer Gilanspring says 'Nothing too difficult for you, I hope.' A task window pops up with three different tasks to choose from. You have been assigned the task 'Gondola Frame - Bamboo Beams'. The project requires some light and flexible supports for the gondola. The engineers think that bamboo might work nicely. Gather some Bamboo Stalks. Collect some Bamboo Stalks from pandas 0/4 (Stonebrunt Mountains) This is an occasional update while killing pandas. Your task 'Gondola Frame - Bamboo Beams' has been updated. Use the vents of Steamfont to help bend the bamboo to the proper curve 0/4 (Steamfont Mountains) Return to Steamfont Mountains. You can find a steam vent just northwest of the quest giver. Stand on top of it for about a minute and all 4 of your Bamboo pieces will be turned into Curved Bamboo Beams: You hold it over the vent and with all your strength begin to bend it. This will take a few seconds. You successfully bend it into a useful curve for the structure of the zeppelin. Deliver 4 Curved Bamboo Beam to any wood engineer 0/4 (Steamfont Mountains) The engineer thanked you heartily for the bamboo. I had this happen, do you have still have the Curved Wood Beams quest from the time before? I dropped this quest, did the Curved Wood Beams and redid this one and it worked. Also ran into a similar situation with the Curved Steel Beams from the one before where the combine wouldn't work at all, finally petitioned it and they "fixed" me so I could do the combines.

Bingo! I have just update Curved Wood Beams task's first then Bamboo Beams task update subsequently. Thank you!
PLEASE be kind and don't just go there track the pandas and kill them. do us all a favor and kill some extra wandering mobs in zone so more pandas have a better chance to spawn. last night I spent about 3 and and a half hours trying to find pandas. just please be kinda to the other adventures that follow behind u kill some extra adds so more pandas have a better chance to spawn. Thanks

Head to Stonebrunt Mountains and slay pandas. They don't actually drop an item, you will randomly get task updates upon killing them.

Return to the quest giver, hand in the Curved Beams for task completion.
