This is a pre-launch task leading up to the Veil of Alaris expansion and is expected to be available throughout the pre-launch events leading up to the Veil of Alaris expansion (through November 14). It begins with a gnome named Chief Foreman Salli in the Steamfont Mountains. She's found at location -1200, -1275 in the far southeastern part of the Steamfont Mountains. You say, 'Hail, Chief Foreman Salli' Chief Foreman Salli says 'Hello there. Nice to meet you. Unless we've already met. Then it's nice to see you again. Either way, it's nice. I've been so busy that I can't always remember who works for me anymore. It's my job to make sure all of the tasks get done and that everyone has what they need. Luckily I have a lot of [help], or I'd never be able to keep up.' You say, 'How can I help?' Chief Foreman Salli says 'I have a couple of foremen working on specific projects. That's wonderful. It means that I don't have to worry at all about that stuff. Not that there isn't enough to do. We can always use more capable hands. I don't suppose you could find some time to [lend a hand]?' You say, 'I'll lend a hand' Chief Foreman Salli says 'It is very kind of you to offer!' A quest window pops up offering three different tasks. You have been assigned the task 'Food for the Workers'. Chief Foreman Salli has asked you to help her get food to her hungry workers. The engineers treat their employees well, so you will need to deliver all of the items needed for a nutritionally complete meal. Faction applies. Gnomish candy vendor wont sell to my dark elf.
currently playing Summerskye (mage) Stormkissed (ranger), Summerdusk (necro) sometimes a variety of others,
occasionally brings out Areyanna, retired cleric of Stromm, for buffing and pining for beloved Ranger friends who have moved on

The same merchant who sells the Gnomish Candy also sells cheese for the Grilled Cheese Sandwiches. There's no need to run all the way to Abysmal Sea for it(like I did).

Unless you are referring to another merchant...the Clockwork Merchant (Enchanter Spells) sells the Gnomish Candy, Liquid Caramel, and low level enchanter illusion spells ONLY - no cheese. Maybe you got lucky and someone sold some cheese to it. (Just an FYI for all). [To me Crescent Reach is more convenient than Abysmal Sea most times.]

Looks like you are correct, someone must have dumped some extra cheese on the merchant. Abysmal Sea worked for me as I was there to hail an NPC for one of the other quests too.

Actually, it is outside that building.

There is a 6 hour lock out timer on these quests.
