This is a solo kill task that begins with Havrin in Morell's Castle. He's a satyr located at the entrance to the shellscale area in the northeast part of the forest.
Note: Two roaming mobs (including a see invis daydream) path into the room he's in. You say, 'Hail, Havrin' Havrin says 'Hail and well met, adventurer. Enjoying your romp through the stuff dreams are made of? Well, I do have some things to [keep you occupied], if you so wish.' You say, 'Yes, keep me occupied...' Havrin says 'I figured you might enjoy that. There are two issues of note that you might find relaxing as you dream, away from the slaughter of the waking world. The native flora and fauna are [out of control] in population. Unfortunately, you could say the same for the [shellscales], which are intent on encroaching on our area.' You say, 'Out of control?' Havrin says 'The water serpents have taken over the river, and the hedge walkers killing the green life in their path. If you could bring their populations [down to size], this may help keep the area healthy and vibrant.' You say, 'I'll bring them down to size' Havrin says 'Great, friend. I appreciate your assistance in the matter. I know people of your type do not wish to sit idle.' You have been assigned the task 'Controlling the Population'. Kill the water serpents overpopulating the river 0/8 (Morell's Castle) Serpents in the river and water serpents in the area preceding the water maze update this step. Kill the hedgewalkers causing havoc in the forest 0/4 (Morell's Castle) Report back to Havrin 0/1 (Morell's Castle) You say, 'Hail, Havrin' Havrin says, 'You've done a lot for us, friend. For now, the populations seem fine, but will not be permanent. Please let us know if there's anything we can do for you in the meantime.'
