Giladan #3: It Only Gets Worse

This task is the third in a series of three that begins with Giladan the Botanist at location -65, -1700, -105 in the Grounds (due east of the zone-in; just east of the central garden and next to Spensur, the Rk. III spell NPC).
You must have completed his first two tasks prior to being able to request this one. You say, 'Hail, Giladan the Botanist' Giladan the Botanist says 'I can't get these blasted things to grow! It appears the very thing that helped them survive the rotdogs is making it [difficult] to germinate!' You say, 'Difficult?' Giladan the Botanist says 'I've been doing this a long time, and I've never seen anything like it. Perhaps if we go [back] to the bixies?' You say, 'Back to the bixies?' Giladan the Botanist says '(Sigh) What to do, what to do... I got it! The [treants]!' You say, 'The treants?' Giladan the Botanist says 'No, I don't want you to talk to them! I need you to get some of their [bark]. And I don't imagine they'll give it to you willingly.' You say, 'I'll get some of their bark' Giladan the Botanist says 'Yes! At least three pieces should be good.' You have been assigned the task 'It Only Gets Worse'. Loot 3 Treant Bark from treants 0/3 (The Grounds) This is a rare drop from any treant. Give the Treant Bark to Giladan the Botanist 0/3 (The Grounds) Giladan the Botanist says 'You got them! I do have to admit I am a bit surprised that you succeeded! But I have one more thing I need you to do. I need the fang of the serpent of the pond. Faernoc I believe they call him. Bring me one of its fangs and I’ll have what I need. ' Retrieve one of Faernoc's Fangs 0/1 (The Grounds) The serpent Faernoc can be found swimming in the lake in the east-central part of the zone. It sees invisibility and hits for a max ~6,500. Faernoc has been slain by _____! Faernoc's corpse hisses in agony in its final death throes. Give Faernoc's Fang to Giladan the Botanist 0/1 (The Grounds) Giladan the Botanist says '(Laughing) Is there anything you can't do?! Thank you so much for your help!' Neither the treant bark nor Faernoc's fang are prelootable. The fang surprised me since the step is "Retrieve", but Giladan won't take it.

The bark is definitely rare. I would say about 1 in 10. Thankfully the respawn rate in the zone is 5 minutes.
hello, I just completed this quest and its pretty easy the only thing i had trouble was the treant bard took like 20 kills or so to get my 3 barks . Faernoc was a piece of cake only thing that scared me as i read a post that said faernoc BS the guy for 24k lol well i had to go into the water where faernoc was and pull cause couldnt cast a spell outside of water so as i pulled him and was swimming back to land all i could think of was this dudes post and that faernoc was going to BS me for 24k and i wouldnt make it back to camp lol. anyways he died easily ... my tank was lvl 89 SK.. only equiped with UF extravagant which equals to T1 HoT armor .. tank has 1700 aa's .. also boxed my 90 bst and 80 mage. bst has 3400 aa's. hope it helps.. now i can request the gardener :P im soo happy
