Pre-requisites for requesting this raid:
- "The Fungal Bloom" (and its pre-requisites)
- Completion of Brell's Rest, Cooling Chamber, and Pellucid Grotto raids
- Completion of Arthicrex, Foundation, and Underquarry raids
- Must have looted and used the Emblem of Brell from one of the prior tier's raids

Pre-requisite for participating in this raid:
- Must have looted and used the Emblem of Brell from one of the prior tier's raids
- It's been reported that you also need to have completed "The Fungal Gloom" (group mission)

You say, 'Hail, Stewac Grabsor'

Stewac Grabsor says 'Oh, pardon my absent-mindedness, we've been preoccupied with our missing rejuvenation party. They were sent out to investigate the cause of the corruption in the mushroom patch, but we haven't heard from them in quite some time. Perhaps you could find out the status of the rejuvenation party's efforts, if you have time and are [ready]?'

You say, 'Ready!'

Stewac Grabsor says 'Oh, thank you very much, we will await the results of your search with anticipation.'

LOADING, PLEASE WAIT...
You have entered Fungal Forest.

Summary

- Hail the elder sporali to trigger the first phase.
- Forage items in the zone to create bane items.
- Using the tools given to you, spawn and kill 15 of the original sporali.
- Speak to the elder sporali again to trigger the spawn of the Death Beetle.
- Fight the Death Beetle to 90%, kill adds, and bane the Death Beetle.
- Repeat at 75%, 60%, 45%, 30%, and 15%, and then kill the Death Beetle.

Triggering the Event

Upon zoning into the instance, you find yourself in the large orb in the southeastern part of the zone. You'll want to make your way to the open area west of that location, where the gigyn ring is in the non-instanced zone. The first phase of the event takes place there.

One person needs to trigger the event by going to the northeastern part of the zone where they'll find a group of sporali. Most of them are in weakened states while a few remain standing.

Hail the elder sporali to trigger the first part of the event. No mobs will aggro anywhere, so it's safe to do this at any time.

You say, 'Hail, an elder sporali'

an elder sporali says 'I see you do not have the tool needed to harvest the spores. Please take this and return to the mushroom patch and clear away the oddly colored patches. Once that is done it may reveal what is causing the corruption.'

You receive "Fungus Harvesting Tools" on your cursor. NOTE: You can have as many people as you want hail the elder sporali to receive the tools, but only one person actually needs the tools.

Hailing the elder sporali also spawns a number of sporali patches in the area of the gigyn ring.

Note: You can speak with the sporali wizard to exit the instance.

You say, 'Hail, a sporali wizard'

a sporali wizard says 'Greetings _____. Please let me know if you wish to return to Gelnus. Just tell me you [wish to return] and I will open the way.'

Foraging Bane Items

Once the event's been triggered, people need to begin foraging items. Among the items they'll forage are "Mushroom Spores" and "Crystalline Water".

With those two items in your possession, you can right-click either one to create "Fungal Antidote Potion". Note: You can only create this item if you're in OOC regen. You can't be on aggro and you can't have a cooldown counter.

None of these items are lore, so you can have multiple components and potions.

Your raid will need at least 12 potions for the second phase of the event.

Phase 1: The Corrupted Sporali

In addition to being able to forage the necessary items, the event's trigger also spawns several fungus patches in the gigyn ring area (south-central part of the zone).

Whoever has "Fungus Harvesting Tools" can right-click a patch to spawn a corrupted sporali.

NOTE: You must kill 15 of the original patch spawns in order to progress the event. The patches respawn, so make sure you're killing the original spawns instead of the respawns which don't count towards the 15 kills.

There is no known timer for this portion of the event. You can spawn and kill the 15 corrupted sporali one at a time with some downtime between the spawns if you need.

There are six types of corrupted sporali. They each hit for a max ~16,000 and have varying abilities.

"a purple corrupted sporali" is weak to disease spells and piercing melee attacks. It casts "Purple Spores" and "Spore Infection":

Purple Spores: Self 0', Fire (0)
1: Increase Incoming Spell Damage by 150%
3: Increase corruption counter by 9
4: Limit: Resist (Disease allowed)

2: Silence
3: Inhibit Melee Attacks by (100%)
4: Feign Death
5: Increase Disease Counter by 8
6: Decrease Endurance and Hitpoints by up to 500 per tick
7: Root

"Spore Infection" is a frontal AE. It inflicts its targets with a root, a large DOT (much more than the 500 listed here), a silence, a melee slow, and makes them feign death. This spell is viral and must be cured as soon as possible or it will infect everyone else around the person.

"a blue corrupted sporali" is weak to cold spells and slashing melee attacks. It casts "Blue Spores", "Spore Pollution", and the same "Spore Infection" as above:

1: Increase Incoming Spell Damage by 150%
3: Increase corruption counter by 9
4: Limit: Resist (Poison allowed)

4: Decrease Endurance by 200

"a yellow corrupted sporali" is weak to magic spells and all melee attacks. It casts "Yellow Spores", "Spore Pollution", and "Spore Dispersal":

1: Skill Damage Taken (30)
2: Decrease Stats by 2000
3: Add Effect: Spore Dispersal Form

Yellow Spores: Self 0', Fire (0)
1: Increase Incoming Spell Damage by 150%
3: Increase corruption counter by 9
4: Limit: Resist (Magic allowed)

"an orange corrupted sporali" is weak to corruption spells and blunt melee attacks. It casts "Orange Spores", "Spore Pollution", and "Spore Drain":

Orange Spores: Self 0', Fire (0)
1: Increase Incoming Spell Damage by 150%
3: Increase corruption counter by 9
4: Limit: Resist (Unknown 9 allowed)

Spore Drain: PB AE 1000', Disease (-800)

"a red corrupted sporali" is weak to fire spells and blunt melee attacks. It casts "Red Spores", "Spore Drain", and "Spore Dispersal":

Red Spores: Self 0', Fire (0)
1: Increase Incoming Spell Damage by 150%
3: Increase corruption counter by 9
4: Limit: Resist (Fire allowed)

Spore Dispersal: Single Target, Disease (-800)

2: Decrease Stats by 2000
3: Add Effect: Spore Dispersal Form

Spore Drain: PB AE 1000', Disease (-800)
1: Stun (1.00 sec)
2: Decrease Hitpoints by 8000
3: Decrease Mana by 200
4: Decrease Endurance by 200

Phase 2: The Death Beetle

Once you've killed 15 original patch spawns, you can trigger the Death Beetle.

Again, there is no known timer so you can rebuff and set up as needed. Hailing the elder sporali triggers the spawn of the Death Beetle which will appear in the sporali patch.

You say, 'Hail, an elder sporali'

an elder sporali says 'We were never able to get close enough to the corruption without getting sick to discover this phenomena. Judging by the samples that you brought here, I am suspecting that there's something burrowed beneath the earth that's causing the corruption. If you're able to destroy whatever creature may be lurking beneath the earth, the mushroom patch may return back to it's normal state.'

Once the Death Beetle is spawned, you must aggro it within 60 seconds or the raid resets.

It's not leashed anywhere, so can be pulled anywhere in the zone.

The Death Beetle hits for a max ~20,000. It doesn't flurry or rampage. It casts the spell "Decaying Corruption". There are two versions of this AE. One has a knockback component. The other has a pull component where it pushes you in the direction of the Death Beetle:

Decaying Corruption: NPC Hatelist 1000', Disease (-800)
1: Decrease Spell Haste by 75%
2: Decrease HP when cast by 10000
3: Adjust Mana (-250)
4: Decrease Endurance by 250
5: Add Effect: Decaying Corruption Knockback
6: Decrease Chance to Hit by 75% with All Skills
7: Inhibit Melee Attacks by (200%)
8: Decrease Movement by 75%
9: Increase corruption counter by 12

Decaying Corruption: NPC Hatelist 1000', Disease (-800)
1: Decrease Spell Haste by 75%
2: Decrease HP when cast by 10000
3: Adjust Mana (-250)
4: Decrease Endurance by 250
5: Add Effect: Decaying Corruption Gravitate
6: Decrease Chance to Hit by 75% with All Skills
7: Inhibit Melee Attacks by (200%)
8: Decrease Movement by 75%
9: Increase corruption counter by 12

The "Decaying Corruption" AE may be avoidable if you're out of line of sight when it's cast.

At 90% health, the Death Beetle spawns seven adds and casts two buffs on itself. The buffs are both called "Decaying Aura":

Decaying Aura: Self 0', Unresistable (0)
1: Mitigate Melee Damage by 99%, 0 total
2: Increase Damage Shield by 5000

Decaying Aura: Self 0', Unresistable (0)
1: Mitigate Spell Damage by 99%, 0 total
2: Spell-Damage Shield (-10000)

These buffs can be removed by using two Fungal Antidote Potions on it (the bane items created earlier).

The adds spawn one by one, a few seconds apart. You'll get 2x "a sleepy beetle hatchling" (mezzable; immune to stun), 2x "a stumbling beetle hatchling" (immune to mez and stun), and 3x "a dizzy beetle hatchling" (stunnable; immune to mez). They each hit for a max ~5,500 and don't have any special abilities.

The Death Beetle spawns the same adds and casts the same buffs on itself again at 75%, 60%, 45%, 30%, and 15%. Kill the adds as they spawn, bane the Death Beetle as necessary (twice at each %), and then kill it.

The Death Beetle has been slain by _____!
The Death Beetle collapses to the ground, causing the earth to shake around it.

You hear shouts of relief as the beetle falls over dead. You have vanquished the creature and restored the patch to its normal state. Congratulations, adventurer. Now step forward and claim your prize.

A treasure chest spawns with loot.

- It's been reported that you also need to have completed "The Fungal Gloom" (group mission)

This group mission is required to participate in this raid. I had three people who had the task done, and three people that did not. Those that didn't were unable to zone into the raid instance.

To clarify further, we had reports of folks not being able to zone in to the instance as well. However, everyone was able to use the guild banner to get in.
'Bane Items' Misleading

The reports on 'bane items' are incorrect. The buffs the boss applies at 90, 75, etc are removed by killing the adds, not using the potions. We did not discover any special use of the potions at all - they appear to be pointless.

cleric, monk, bard. Was really slow on shrooms and foraging. took about 70 minutes to get part 1 done - the foraging took a long time for us. Deathbeetle hit us for up to 16k and was not the problem. When adds popped, they jumped the healer and were interrupting spells. We barely got past the 90% but 75% killed us. Death Beetle hit up to 16k on level 105 monk (raid geared). Watch for spell slow from Death Beetle, that was horrible. We plan to go back with a full group: tank and forager and maybe a shaman for buffs / slows and backup heals / cures and more dps. Should not be a problem at 105 to 1 group this.

Apparently you need the group mission of Fungal Bloom in order to enter the raid instance.

The 7 minutes is not correct. We took well over 7 minutes and was able to move on to the next phase.

essentially killing ~30 shrooms (triggered from grey-con non-KoS fungus patches), different colors dictate which spells or types of weapons to use (corruption, poison, blunt, H2H, etc...)

after shrooms, trigger event, the death beetle spawns

spawns ~5 adds about every 10%

death beetle has a knockback... hits for ~20,000
