This task was offered to a level 17 from Deldryn Splendyr in the Butcherblock Mountains (inside a building at the docks +1423, +2737). It has also been reported as starting with Atwin Keladryn in Butcherblock as well --need verification that both NPC start same task?

You have been assigned the task 'March for Drolvarg Literacy'

This isn't like any journey you've ever taken before. This time you're on a serious mission to find the one they call Morticalidon. No one knows what it looks like, or if it even really exists, but legend says that a creature of sinister power roams the lands in search of prey once every hundred years. It's time the search started for this mythical creature and you're the one who's going to be at the forefront. The search has already begun, but there are plenty of places to search. You should explore the lair of drolvargs in the east, to start. Do you think you can handle that?

Explore the lair of drolvargs in the east 0/1 (Firiona Vie)

This updates when you run up the steps leading to the 'tunnel' into the Drolvarg Underground, east side of Firiona Vie.

Explore the bottom floor of the library 0/1 (Plane of Knowledge)

This updates when you set foot on the main bottom floor (not the lower sections for Necros and SKs). Task text box suggests you take a torch, but is evidently not necessary.

Speak with Mikael Mistigone 0/1 (Stonebrunt Mountains)

Mihael Mistigone's location will be marked on your compass. Upon hailing him:

The search for the Morticalidon won't end, not as long as intrepid explorers like you are on the trail. With this type of creature, you never know when or where you'll find it, but one thing if for sure - finding this creature will be the most rewarding experience you'll ever have. In the meantime, here's payment for the time you spent searching.
