Completion of this task is required in order to request the northern Ashengate raid. See Ashengate Flagging Process
This task begins with Jenray, Envoy of Ro, who is found in the Direwind Cliffs in a tent just outside the lava moat to the right of the Ashengate zone. In order to request it, you must have ally faction with "Scholars of Solusek", must have completed the Vergalid's End 54-player raid task, and the solo task Severing the Strings. You say, 'Hail, Jenray, Envoy of Ro' Jenray, Envoy of Ro peers down at your weapons with a glaring eye, 'You had best sheath those weapons before I take them from you, ____.' If you hail again without unequipping your weapon, Jenray will attack. And don't expect assistance... who wants to ruin their Scholars of Solusek faction? After sheathing your weapons... You say, 'Hail, Jenray, Envoy of Ro' Jenray, Envoy of Ro says 'Welcome, Troll, to our humble encampment. Warm yourselves by our flame and rejoice in the many [gifts] that Solusek Ro bestows upon his faithful.' You say, 'what gifts?' Jenray, Envoy of Ro says 'You may have been blinded, as I once was, by the mundane powers of Norrath's pantheon. But look around you now. Evidence of Solusek's influence and omnipotence abound. What would this world be with a sunless sky, hmm? And this simple campfire has the ability to warm, to cook meals, or to burn the unfaithful. Now consider the earth upon which you are standing. This extended mountain range exists because HE WILLS IT SO. What other deity can claim that kind of [superiority]?' You say, 'superiority?' Jenray, Envoy of Ro smiles, 'Ah, Lias. You deserve to see for yourself. Allow me to show you the miracles so you will understand.' You are presented with a task selection dialog. You have been assigned the task 'Ghosts from the Past'. I'm sure you've heard the pathetic mutterings of the Drakken regarding the dragons that were slain in the cataclysmic event triggered by Solusek Ro centuries ago. It's central to their folklore. But what do you truly know about what happened to the dragons? Certainly, they were martyred and became something of a legend to the locals. Their bodies decayed. We mourn them in their passing. These outcomes are all to be expected. But, have you considered the possibility that some vestige of them still lingers, and remain behind? The primary impetus behind our presence here is that we are aware of the existence of Sothgar's spirit. We have sensed that the ghost of Sothgar the Wildfire still exists. He is haunting the furthest depths of the west wing, in the liquid falls where he was crushed and buried alive. He is angry. No, he's fuming... NO, HE'S FURIOUS, carrying within him a festering, unbridled hatred for the god that prematurely put an end to his existence. Do everyone a favor by putting his spirit to rest and eliminating an opponent of Solusek Ro. Draw him out. Kill Sothgar and return evidence of the deed to me. Kill Sothgar the Twiceborn 0/1 (Ashengate, Reliquary of the Scale) This is accomplished within the Ashengate West Raid instance. Return to Jenray in the Direwind Cliffs 0/1 (Direwind Cliffs) You say, 'Hail, Jenray, Envoy of Ro' Your task 'Ghosts from the Past' has been updated. Jenray can hardly contain his excitement as he accepts the heart of Sothgar, 'YES! Can you feel his fury? The hatred for Solusek is tangible, emanating from the dark heart. Never before was there a greater gift to present to our god.' Your faction standing with Scholars of Solusek could not possibly get any better. You gain experience!! | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
