This solo task begins with Bilgewater Bill, who is located at -25, 2970 on the island of Jardel's Hook in the Buried Sea.

    You say, 'Hail, Bilgewater Bill'

Bilgewater Bill says 'Well, hail yerself. What brings you to this little spot of heaven? From the look of you, yer not here because you were recruited, like I was. In fact, you must be a fool to be here at all, especially if you're here by your own choosing. Me, I'm here because I'm stupid. I allowed myself to pass out drinking in a dockside bar. That's stupid. But coming here? Amazingly stupid, if you ask me. Of course you didn't, so I don't know why I'm still talking to you. I have [work] to do.'

    You say, 'What work?'

Bilgewater Bill says 'Hah! Well, I call it work. You might call it torture. Why, I don't think someone like you could do what I do every day. There's no glory in it and there's little enough pay. But then, I can't spend my pay on anything. I started by saving my 'pay' hoping that I could buy my way out of this job. I was an idiot then, I know better now. In fact, I think I know how I want to spend my money on now. I'll pay you if you'll [do some] of my work for me. Heck, that would be like a vacation for me.'

You say, 'I'll do some for you'

Bilgewater Bill says 'This will be fun to watch.'

You have been assigned the task 'The Meek Shall What?'.

Bill has offered to pay you to do one of his more disgusting chores. For some reason, you accepted. It sounds simple enough, just go to the beach and dump some buckets. How hard could it be?

    Receive Bucket of Slop.

Dump the slop in the water south of the camp, shoreward of the big rocks 0/4 (The Buried Sea)

This updates around /loc -1750, +2900. You must not be invis. Sometimes, a scavenging coralisk will spawn.

This step must be done 4 times. Each time, go back to Bilgewater Bill and hail him to get another Bucket of Slop.

Kill 1 scavenging coralisk 0/1 (The Buried Sea)

Kill the scavenging coralisk whenever it spawns during the first step.

Speak with Bilgewater Bill 0/1 (The Buried Sea)

You have emptied the buckets. You are uncertain if you will ever get the smell out of your boots.

    A quick update:

I just did this quest today looking for parts for my hand aug, and here's how easy it was...

Obviously get the quest from Bilgewater Bill. You will get the quest and a Bucket of Slop...go to the druid port and head south to the beach...there's a stand of odd shaped rocks...they kind of block most of the back, but there's a little hole/tunnel carved out of the center, and the beach has a few feet from water to rocks.
For the easiest way, I found that if you keep the bucket that Bill gives you (it appears on your cursor), invis past the Blacksail pirates, and click off invis just when you get to those rocks (waterside) it will update and you will lose your Bucket.
You will receive one of two messages:
1.) You manage to dump the slop into the water, but the smell nearly makes you pass out. This means no Mob, as stated earlier in Zhasacoolcleric's entry. or:
2.) You manage to dump the slop into the water, but the smell nearly makes you pass out. Before you do, you suspect that you hear the approaching of somthing, perhaps drawn to the smell as much as you are replused by it. This indicated a mob aggroing you.
Go back to Bill for each time you do this (4).
Doing the quest for me was easy...I dumped 4 buckets, the coralisk spawned on the fourth attempt.
Kill the lizard and head back to Bill for rewards. Save the crappy augs you get.

      Over all time for quest
including the dispatching of the coralisk with myself (75 bard), and an 80 druid for battle back-up was exactly 13 minutes.

KEEP A LOT OF SPACE IN YOUR BAGS, for this series of quests truly requires you to save save save. The augment you get for your hand is totally worthwhile, even with the new SoF, and SoD gear.

    Enjoy and be safe.

    Observations:

    1) Almost every time you dump the slop it will spawn a Scavenging Coralisk.

    2) The task requires that you kill ONE coralisk.

    3) A gate will despawn the coralisk.

I just completed this today by a) killing one coralisk at the beginning to satisfy the task, and b) having my druid Succor out immediately after each subsequent coralisk spawns. All you have to do is gate each time you dump the slop, unless you're really keen on killing the coralisk.

    Cheers.

Another change as of 16 May 2007
    # May 15 2007 at 9:08 PM Rating: Decent
As per the patch message for 16 May 2007:

    - The Bucket of Slop used in the Meek Shall What? task is now Lore.

    http://forums.station.sony.com/eq/posts/list.m?topic_id=111702
    Changed - Gotta kill now
    # Apr 23 2007 at 4:50 AM Rating: Decent
Kill 1 scavenging coralisk 0/1 - The Buried Sea

The above has been added to this task since people were abusing it for exp and faction. However the re-designer of this task in all their wisdom failed to realize that the mob is a random spawn so if you happen to get 4 bucket dumps without a mob, you fail the mission and have to start over.

To speed this mission up, when you initially get it destroy the first bucket that Bill gives you. Spam hail him until he starts saying the paragraph offering you work again and you will get 4-6 buckets on your cursor. That way you don't have to run all the way back up here to get a bucket each time. Careful though, this could result in 4 lizards jumping you at once, fair warning.

Seems they changed it so you have to kill the Scavenging Coralick at least once in order to finish the quest
    Couple updates
    # Apr 17 2007 at 10:57 AM Rating: Decent
Just did the mission, have a couple updates:

You have to take the pails and put them on your cursor, and go down to the southern right tip of island (Near the Succor point), stand in the water for a few seconds and it will disapear and the mission will update.

Every time you do this, there is a random chance that A Scavenging Coralisk will spawn and aggro, his level and spawning varies, for instance, he spawned on my 1st, 2nd, and 4th turn in, ranging from blue con to yellow (im level 75) You can tell if a mob is coming by the yellow emote, such as these:

You manage to dump the slop into the water, but the smell nearly makes you pass out. This means no Mob

You manage to dump the slop into the water, but the smell nearly makes you pass out. Before you do, you suspect that you hear the approaching of somthing, perhaps drawn to the smell as much as you are replused by it. This indicated a mob aggroing you

However as stated above it can be easily outran using lev+sow and running to the small islands south west of the island, Run back up, Hail Him agian:

Bilgewater Bill says 'I see yer without a bucket of slop. Here, I can fix that.'
Along with a random line of text, either encouraging you or making fun of you as you do this (thanks, eq).

Turn in all 4 then go back and hail him, you will get yellow text:
You have emptied the buckets. You are uncertain if you will ever get the smell out of your boots

Your are offered plat and faction, or https://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=66402 for the hand aug quest.

This quest can be done by anyone 65+ and is easily soloable, please update if possible =)
    Thanks

Can this quest be done at a lower lvl than the stated lvl 70? I also noticed it said it was not repeatable. That is false.

At lvl 75, its about 12% AA per mission. You dont even need invis to do this. Just sow+levi, run along the coastline(or a little out from it to avoid pirates). As posted, sometimes you wont get the croc aggro at all during the 4 runs, but if you do, just run straight south toward Redfeather Isle. Aggro will usually drop before you reach it.

Still havent figured out the faction hits from it(which I'm more interested in). done it maybie 10 times, still at indiff faction.

Edit: Up to amiable after having done a couple aug missions(Redfeather+Pirate islands), and around 10-15 each of Shipwreck(Barren Coast) + Meek Shall What(Buried Sea) missions. =)

I did this mission a bunch of times when I was bored to work my faction. Currently up to kindly, but I have done the Aviak Island mission twice and one other mission that escapes me at the moment. Regardless of which reward you choose, you get faction and experience.

As stated, just have it in inventory, go to point invis. Drop invis. Get message. If the coralisk pops I just use Earthen Embrace and run around the west side of island while casting innate camo, normally if it is snared by the time I get back to Bill I've lost aggro. I've tried rooting it, but it breaks root fast, snare is better to get more distance between you and it.

Caution. If you lose aggro, the coralisk seems to like to return to the drop point for the slop or somewhere very near it. I am not sure but it looks like it repops there after you lose aggro. I've drug it all the way up to the Maiden when the snare didnt stick to lose aggro, and when I got back to the slop drop it was there. Just wait a few seconds, it will depop, must don't run back there without checking is all.

Get 4 blues in AA at lvl 71 for this one.

Dump the slop - Just have the Bucket of Slop in your inventory or on your cursor and run to the very south point of the island (approx neg 1790 , pos 2930). You can not be invis, however, or the slop wont dump. I used lev to run over the water so nothing aggroed. You will get the yellow text showing: "You manage to dump the slop into the water, but the smell nearly makes you pass out." Then run back to Bill and hail him and he'll give you another bucket to dump in the same spot. After the last bucket, the yellow message changes to: ""You manage to dump the slop into the water, but the smell nearly makes you pass out. Before you do, you suspect that you hear the approach of something, perhaps drawn to the smell as much as you are repulsed by it." A Scavenging Coralisk will spawn (Yellow Con to level 75) and start smacking you for around 500. I just FD'd then ran away.

The rest of the task text is: "Speak with Bilgewater Bill (The Buried Sea)" Go back and hail him and get your reward.

Quite possibly the easiest of the tasks in the Buried Sea zone. heh

Doing this one now and both of the first two times I dumped the slop "a scavenging corlisk" (yellow con to 73) appeared and hit max around 1029. I rooted him and ran out of aggro range, but he still hit me pretty hard.

Edit: Have noticed that the spawn of this mob is completely random. I've seen all four runs without him, and also 3 of 4 runs with.
