At the end of this quest you just get:

This solo task begins with Whendt Goldspire in the Barren Coast at approximate location 10, -155.
You say, 'Hail, Whent Goldspire' Whent Goldspire says 'Well, hello there! My name is Whent. I guess you'd say that I run the [Freetide Cartel], though that sounds far more impressive than it really is, considering that the cartel is pretty much three merchants and some hired mercenaries. Not that we have a lot of mercenaries, and there's always work for those willing to [take some risks].' You say, 'I'll take some risks' Whent Goldspire says 'I have several odd jobs that a single adventurer might undertake to earn some disposable income, if you are [interested]? I've also got some more dangerous work that I can't ask you to undertake unless you've got some help. I might be a merchant, but I have a heart beating in my chest just like you. I don't want to see anyone die alone. If you've got some friends, however, then we can talk about [some business] I need taken care of.' You say, 'I am interested' Whent Goldspire says 'Here's a list of things I need done. See if you can help out.' You are offered five tasks, one of which is 'Croc Control'. You have been assigned the task 'Croc Control'. Whent has asked you to reduce the number of crocodiles in the area to keep his people safer and reduce the chance of them growing up to tremendous sizes. Oddly enough, the "Saltwater" Crocs are found inland near the Kerransd around the pond and pools.

Need to change the minimum level of this quest. Have a 58 bard /mage box set I'm doing this with and all mobs con light blue to both. I would imagine at 65 that if these mobs aren't grey, they are green. On the plus side, the crocs and the crows all spawn in the same area, and you can run the quests concurrently
at 65 all of the crocodiles and basilisks are light blue

If you are going to be in zone doing something else and you could use the faction then I would probably get this quest.
As for time spent vrs faction received you would do much better doing shark control and shark teeth. Those two go hand in hand and you get many more faction points. With croc control you have to run all over getting the correct crocs and in the mean time kill a mess of other beasties to get the ones you want to spawn.
In this case you should also probably get all the quests for killing misc mobs because you will most likely be jumped by almost every animal in there as you are hunting for your saltwater crocs. Might as well get the faction from those longer quests at the same time.

I found about 6 -7 crocs at the ponds north of mission giver. Killed them and waited for respawn which took at least 20 mins to start. They respawned very slowly, didnt time it exactly, but over 30 mins more to completely respawn the original numbers. There are some crocs further away but only singles and fortunately I could track them. This mission takes too long in my opinion for what you get due to slow respawn and lack of sufficient numbers in one location.

Crocodiles are located near the pools just north of receiving the quest, they are all roamers, they are versy social, and social with other crocs as well. Basiliks are not social.
I have seem them drop, Pearlescent Crocodilian Tooth, Crocodilian Tooth, Crocodilian Hides, Pearlescent Crocodilian Claw, and Sunshard Pepples.
In this zone you can not shoot arrows at mobs underwater unless you are underwater as well.
They flee at 19% health, maximum I have seen that they hit for is 224, standard mob so no rampage, or summons.
Easy to kite if you want to pull them up on the small plateau that has NPC Daemon Darkdawn(missions).
