This series of tasks is available around Christmas.
The whole event has 3 stages. Find a Frostfell Goblin in Everfrost Peaks. a Frostfell Goblin says 'Happy Frostfell stranger.' The goblin bounces around as he speaks. 'You're probably wondering why we are here. We are in desperate need for some help! Our master has been [brainwashed]!' You say, 'Brainwashed?' a Frostfell Goblin says 'Yes, brainwashed. He is no longer the same person he used to be! He is no longer jolly! Actually, he is being quite naughty! Attacking travelers across Norrath is very naughty! Not jolly! We are too small to save him! Will you [help] us?' You say, 'I will help you' You have been assigned the task 'Frostfell - Searching for Clues'. a Frostfell Goblin says 'If you find him, you will surely find some clues to the mystery. Clues are the answer! Look for him in any of these [regions] across Norrath! You won't miss him; he is very big and very red! Go now! Save our master!' Santug Claugg has been spotted in Everfrost, Butcherblock and Commonlands so far. Santug Claugg shouts 'Fighting Santug? That is so naughty me have to go add it to me list right now!' A Frostfell Goblin can be found in Everfrost at location 2984, n1681 n60.78
The clues are found on a grimp.
Went to commonlands and headed to the Freeport zone line.

"Find a Frostfell Goblin in Everfrost Peaks." 2 hours wasted time. Is no such thing. Hired a tracker since loc's are useless to me. a frostfell goblin did not show up on tack and he's not on find. Can not do quest. Upsetting since I spend a couple of hours trying.
A lot of people are posting the same problem and an Admin needs to update the quest. Last year I was unable to complete this quest because I attempted them to late not knowing there was a time frame. It is currently Stage 1 and the mobs are up.
This quest is only available during Frostfell Stage 1. This year, that is 12/03-12/15, which is 12 days.
Stage 2 is 12/16-12/30 which is 15 days
Stage 3 is 12/24-12/26 which is 3 days
Stage 4 is 12/31-1/7 which is 8 days.

I am not sure if the quest is broken; but wanted to share that even though the quest did not update as I looted the clues; it did complete when I turned in the clues and was able to advance to the next task.
As an FYI; I found all five clues in the Commonlands.

All 5 steps are turn-in steps, so yes, they update when you do the turn-ins.

Last year I tried this quest and did not get xp for killing the gimps that con blue.
This year I tried it and I looted a clue ( snowball with rock in it); but did not get credit for looting it.

I started this quest and got to the point of handing the items to goblin. Had to camp, went back today and they are gone... So it looks like I'm s.o.l... Also, second account can not get this quest. Anyone know if/how to get the stocking or am I wasting my time?

Search Alla's list for Frostfell quests, there are 7 total that have to do with the Stocking line. Quest 1 and 2 are only up for a week or so, then Santug is saved from the Grinnuch and those quests are taken down for quests 3 and 4. From what I can see you can still max out the stocking with quests 3 through 7.

Get the quest off the Frostfell goblin in PoK and head to the Halas portal to the everfrost newbie area. Kill the grimps until you have 5 different clues - idol, snowball, fur, torn letter and a toy (what the items look like not exact names).
Portal back to pok and hand in the items to complete the quest.
As we were doing this Santug strolled past and rooted me and mezzed my guildie. was hilarious, then he shrunk us and walked off :D

You cant give the items to the "hiding" frostfell goblins. they give the stuff back to you even after they say they will take it. I got my update by giving them ot the ones in pok.
This quest has been changed this year, as far as the looting goes. You loot the items and then are supposed to turn them into the goblin for updates, but he hands them all back and the hand ins doesn't update any of them.

I did a turn in and the Frostfell goblin took all of the items needed. All updated and was my first time doing this quest as well.

We are trying to start this quest and cannot seem to find the goblin in Everfrost. I noticed that Goblin, Santug, and Cook were sitting at town entrance in Felwithe. I sure hope it is not too late - we really want to do this one.

I have my Ranger parked where his location is supposed to be but, it appears a Frostfell Goblin is not up. Any Ideas?

Found the broken toy and the snowball off grimps in Commonlands
Is it too late to do this quest? Santug was acting fine today and gave me List quest.
I popped into the game this evening just now, about 5 hours after a server reset, and noticed two "a Frostfell goblin" are back in Cabilis East. I'll bet they're in PoK, too. I took the quest again, but I already have Santug's Stocking from last year. I wonder if it'll just fail to reward me at the end, or if the final reward will be different? (Doubt it, but I can hope!)

I hope we can get another Santug's Stocking. But when I looked at the bag it said it was Lore, so I guess it will be another useless EQ Christmas quest if you have one already. Hoping that just maybe EQ will make it a different bag for this year Christmas quest.

Christmas 2006 is not actually a part of the task name -- but the related tasks are as follows:
1) Frostfell - Searching for Clues
2) Frostfell - Saving Santug
3) Upgrading Stockings (get 20% Stocking)
1 leads to 2 which leads to 3.
#3 is not an actual task -- it's more of a quest.
Anyway -- #1 to #3 must be done relatively soon after the task givers appear, as within a week, or you will miss out on them after Santug is saved.
The next ones can be done in any order (or at the same time). just be sure to turn in your Stocking after each one for the upgrades stocking (40&, 60%, 80% and then 100%.
Before you do any of the below, go ahead and trade up your stocking again (40%). Then the remaining tasks are:
Frostfell: A Gift for Tinam
Frostfell: Fireworks
Frostfell: Santug's List
The Frostfell: Fishing for a Feast did NOT allow me a stocking upgrade, so I assume the Chef tasks are not part of the tasks allowed for stocking upgrades.

As of 12/16 on Quellious this quest line has ended. Icefell goblin, Grinnuch and Santug are no longer running around.
As of 12/26/06 near midnight I just finished turning in the doll and recieved the quest from Santug in PoK for the list. But Im headed to Everfrost to try and get the bag done before 01/06/07 which is when the quests will end.

I did this on Bertox with a 51 bard, a 15 chanter, a 10 mage and a 3rd lvl erudite pally. Grimps have 1 hp. Hit them and they die. Santug wanders the roads in Qeynos Hills from Surefall Glen to West Karana. He is always followed by lots of grimps which spawn as fast as they are killed. Get close and hit as many grimps as you can with a bow or a range spell. Then loot, follow and repeat. Santug will mez, snare, root, fear, and hit you with a 10 pt nuke. Nuisances, specially mez, which means you cannot shoot or cast, and snare, I hate moving slow. Still this part of quest is completely doable by even a 3rd lvl erudite pally. Pally had the quested charm from tutorial, belt, mask and neck item from Crescent Reach, but was basically naked with nothing in more than half his slots. Longbow and 100 arrows, of course.
i got all five drops from gimps in Commonlands .. also on another toon found three in Qeynos hills so not necessarily have to go to all five zones

I was farming giants in Rathe Mountains last night with a lvl 50 alt. On the return trip to frog city i ran across Santug and his grimps. He conned indiff but he feared me away.

I know this isn't related to this quest, but where did they move the giants to? For some reason I've never come across them since the Frogloks got kicked out of Grobb.

Upon zone in from Feerrott, go North to the hill where the bears & beetles used to roam. The hill right past Glaron the Wicked.
Hmm, I believe there is more to this Christmas event than meets the eye. I just noticed another task mob standing near the GD stone in POK. Took a task off him called Old Frostbeard. It required me to dispatch the 5 winds of Frostbeard... I figured, bah, its an event, should be easy! How wrong I was! Found the winds on the mountain over the tunnel containing shardwurms. Snared with ranger and started shooting away when I noticed they con even to 70. Of course, they summon, and started quading me for close to 1k per hit. Ranger went down rather quick.
I suggest someone take a look into this with a group as I think it will probably be at least somewhat worth your while if you complete it.

Emerald of the New Year is a repeat of last years new years task. More fireworks.

K, so the objective is to kill 5 of those summoned storm things. Once that's done, you must recover a party motivator for M.C. Tinkerton (rofl). In order to do so, you have to kill Old Frostbeard. He's about same difficulty as the summoned, cons yellow at 70, but has a ton of hp. A friend and I got him down to 9% before we both croaked. Once you win, you get:

Recast Delay 10 seconds, type 1

For those of you who like old movies, the Grinnuch keeps mumbling "Rosebud" if you get near him.
This is actually 2 tasks, not one.
1st one is Searching for Clues (collect).
2nd one is The Grinnuch.
After you finish the 2nd one -- you are given a hint that in the near future, Santug will be in PoK and you can assist him to make the 2-slot 20% bag bigger and better... meaning there is at least a 3rd task, if not more, to come.

I saw Santug about 5 minutes apart in both Qeynos Hills and South Ro, he was trailed by 8-10 grimps, which dropped various quest items needed.

heres a tip don't waste time goin to the different zones . . . go to an easy zone like BB or QH . . . run the paths and finda ogre claus and follow behind him while killing the grimps that spawn behind him . . . . don't worry about lootin for a lil bit just kill like 20 or 30 of em then whichever ones don't dissapear will have clues on em . . . keep killin grimps till u get all the clues and go turn em in hope this helps :) btw u can't kill santuq :(
