Charming My Dear

Verkorn can be found in the far west kobold caves, at +780, +1650. You will need to use a rogue shroud or have indifferent or better (with which faction?) to start this quest.
You say, 'Hail, Verkorn' Verkorn says 'Me not crazy! You crazy!' Verkorn is practically shouting. 'Why you bother me? Me have [much to do]!' You say, 'Much to do?' Verkorn says 'Much! Bark! You not [help], you leave. Bark! Me busy. Bark! Me not crazy!' You say, 'I will help.' A task window pops and you can chose between 2 tasks: Task 1 - "Prized Leopard" Task 2 - "Charming My Dear" You have been assigned the task 'Charming My Dear'. Verkorn the Mad needs your help in creating a totem that can be used against the orcs in their ongoing battle. This totem can be used to temporarily tame a bear and bring it under the control of the totem's owner. Verkorn would like the bears charmed in such a way used to attack the orcish camps and carve a swath through their ranks. Reward(s): You gain experience!! Reward option 1: Lucky Charm Totem Kill 6 adult cave bears 0/6 - Icefall Glacier Loot 2 Cave Bear Heart from cave bears 0/2 - Icefall Glacier Which bears qualify? Kill 4 Coldeye Orcs 0/4 - Icefall Glacier Which orcs qualify? Loot 2 Coldeye Orc Charm from Coldeye Orcs 0/2 - Icefall Glacier Which orcs qualify? Deliver 2 Cave Bear Heart to Verkorn 0/2 - Icefall Glacier Deliver 2 Coldeye Orc Charm to Verkorn 0/2 Icefall Glacier Once you have turned in the 2 hearts and 2 orc charms he will give you Verkorn's Bear Totem. Any dialogue? Use the totem to charm 6 adult cave bears and take them to the orc fort 0/6 - Icefall Glacier Go back to the Cave Bear tunnel and pull some bears, but the totem will only work on the bears if they have less than 50% health; otherwise you get a message in red letters (what message?). The charm only works on the Cave Bears and not on the other bears in the zone. Pull and charm them one by one and, once you have gathered 6 "a charmed Icefall Bear", move to the orc fort. Note: Do not cast invis buffs or use feign death or the charms will break. Right before the fort gate a half dozen yellow con orcs (names? levels? abilities? faction hits?) will spawn and the charmed bears will start to fight them. Some second later your task will update and you can train the remaining orcs to the Valdeholm zone. Any dialogue? Return the totem to Verkorn 0/1 - Icefall Glacier Any dialogue? Werena's post (click message) is accurate.
A couple notes:
If you go near the orc fort before you have all your charmed bears, you will get a message in red 'You must bring six charmed icefall bears to the fort'
If you do invis or fd, the bears will no longer follow you. However, you can complete the mission by snaring them all. They will follow you, and you will be able to stay invised.
The charmed bears are also nonsocial.

Does this totem add add'l damage? or does it simply make items that were not magical, example, runic war javelins, magical so they can hit critters that it takes a magical weapon to damage?

Here's some Tips for you.
This is a pure solo task, you don't get updates if another player loots or charms a bear.
Each person who trains their 6 charmed bears will have an equal spawn of orcs so if you have 6 players with the task and they are pulling their own 6 bears to fort entrance you have 36 orcs spawning. So imagine 72 mobs that will lag you out and kill you.
If you are curious how many charmed bears a player has type /target a_charmed_Icefall_Bear06 or what ever the number. Just make sure some one elses bears isn't near by.

Although KOS, he does not aggro when you hail him. He will ignore whatever you say until you say "I will Help" then the task menu pops up.

What does the charm do exactly?

one thing not mentioned yet
once you charmed a bear, you have only about 30 mins to compltete it
after 30 mins ( not exactly though ) the charmed bear goes poof
he vanishes , not just charm breaks
i tried to solo it with root bowing ( ranger )
but i didnt get 6 bears down to 50% in time, never got more than 4 at the same time
so get some help, for dps
necro and druid helped me, than it was cake, took us about 10 mins to get all 6 under 50%, and ready for rush at orc camp

the bears that qualify are the top caves , closest to see invis dire wolves , they are named adult cave bears , i killed coldain hunters directly south of there for my orcs , all drops for quest very common , you can do turn in invis , just reinvis as soon as u open trade window , get mission in shroud of course , get bears from inside top (northern) cave for charming , get to 50% blah blah , upon reaching encampment the quest will "autoupdate" , no work from u , go get reward and done , i suggest you get all tss quests u plan on getting before u start any ,i.e. while u complete this quest u will get all the pieces required for a 200ish hp/mana class specific wristpiece from valdeholm = )
