This task is the third in a series of six. It begins with Dorina in Goru'kar Mesa atop the Windwillow plateau with the other dryads. Upon completion of the previous task...
Dorina says, 'He said he did not know me? Such wonderful games he plays! I think I will get him a [gift]. Yes that is it, a gift!' You say, 'What gift?' Dorina says 'So you are [curious]?' You say, 'I am curious.' Dorina says 'Well then you can help me! You can go collect some [supplies] I need.' You say, 'What supplies?' Dorina says 'Yes, collect the items on this list for me, and with that I can make a wonderful gift for Simu.' You have been assigned the task 'Dorina's Gift'. You need to collect the following items: Collect 32 Spider Silks from Recluse Spiders Collect 1 Recluse Spider Fang from Recluse Spiders Collect 4 a Wolf Canine from the Mesa Wolves Collect 1 Supple Wolf Pelt from Mesa Wolves Collect 5 Large Snake Fangs from Mesa snakes or similar After collecting all items you may deliver them. Deliver 32 Spider Silk to Dorina - Goru`kar Mesa Deliver 1 Recluse Spider Fang to Dorina - Goru`kar Mesa Deliver 4 A Wolf Canine to Dorina - Goru`kar Mesa Deliver 1 Supple Wolf Pelt to Dorina - Goru`kar Mesa After these four steps are done, you can hand in the snake fangs. Deliver 5 Large Snake Fang to Dorina - Goru`kar Mesa Dorina says, 'This is great! I do not think I could have gathered all of these by myself. Thank you very much.' I accidentally sold the silks and some other parts i think. What a bummer. Didn't show in vendor buyback. Guess I'm collecting again. Don't make the same mistake!

the components are trivial early on in tailoring mastery, however i failed my first attempt at the final combine at 116 skill (i was impatient). i was impatient again at t-skill 127 but i feel i got lucky and succeeded the final combine this time around. i was aiming to get 140 before attempting it again. but ... you know, kind of don't want to level up tradeskills all day ;)

Dorina gives you Silkfang Pack Instructions.
Silkfang Pack Instructions read as follows:
First make yourself a spool of spider silk thread. Take 8 spider silks and spin it into spider silk thread. Once you have the thread, use a recluse spider fang as your bobbin and spin 3 spider silk threads onto it to make your spool of spider silk thread. Prepare 4 wolf canine teeth by carefully drilling a hole in it using your sewing needle. Do the same thing to prepare 5 large snake fangs. Use another spider silk thread to string the 4 canines and 5 fangs together, being sure to knot it properly to space the teeth evenly. Finally, get a supple wolf pelt and, using a backpack pattern, make a bag with the spool of spider silk thread and string of teeth.

"Dorina says 'That just will not do. He must be under a spell. You can help me further if you wish and go talk to [Naeema] in Crescent Reach for me.'"
You say, 'Naeema'
"Dorina says 'Thank you. You continue to be of great help to me. Go ask her about a philter of inamorata and help her if she needs.'"
"You have been assigned the task 'Dorina's Potion'."
I got my tailoring up to 131 by farming Crystalline Silk in crystal caverns, and buying Silver Thread and various patterns from a girl NPC vendor, Ilyon Olditia, in East Freeport on the docks. The patterns were of course cheap. The silver thread was about 1 plat, but you only need one per combine. So with just Crystalline Silk and a few plat you can get up to 131 in tailoring, which gives you a 55 percent chance to succeed on combine for Folded Silkfang Pack.
Unfortunately, the pack made by the Folded Silkfang Pack, which is the Silkfang Pack, is lore and non-tradeable. So you can only make yourself one. It is an 8 size giant capacity bag with 50 percent weight reduction.

I fairly lucked out on this one with a skill of 125 tailoring, I did not get a fail at all on anything. Made me wonder if it's been 'adjusted' to no fail combine. Anyhow, tailoring is a pain in the patootie to level up, if you aren't careful it can end up just as expensive as jewelcrafting.
Lynire's suggestion is the cheapest way to get your tailoring up that I've seen to date and if I recall some of those spiders tend to carry nice gems as well, you can recoup your cost as you go ;)

I too am on the Personalized gift task, franticly trying to get tailoring high enough to managed the combine. One the first step, I unfolded the pack and kept the resulting unfolded bag for myself. Silkfang Pack, cap 8, Giant, 50% wght reduction. A nice item, I handed the folded pack to Simu who laughed, etc. Further updates happened fine, even though I kept the bag.

I'm doing this series of quests with an alt beastlord. I've gotten up to the final combine and failed it 3 times now with a tailoring skill of 113(no geerlock) or any other modifier.
I'm thinking about starting from the first quest again, but when I get the backpack from Dorina to give to Simu, I'm gonna right click it since it does have one charge. Maybe, just maybe that will allow me to avoid the annoying tailoring portion and get on with the rest of the quest. I want the augment(s) at the end of this.

i did the last combine several times before i got it. It will make it without opening the bag, get the tailoring skill up a little higher.

I too collected everything, handed them into Dorina(got interrupted because she had to go dance with her sisters,lmao), got the Folded Pack, gave THAT to Simu, per the Quest. He took the pack, laughs and says he does not know her.
I went back to Dorina hailed her Task completed, Then she said that she must have me make a better one, since her magic kept her from making anything too fancy.
So I too have this other task, called Dorina's Pesonalized Gift, whose first step is Create 4 Spider Silk Thread and Spool of Spider Silk Thread
using tradeskills.

My Tailoring skills are 119 and yet, twice now I've attempted to make this bag and lose everything to the message "You lacked the skills to fashion the items together." I can tell you this is becoming a really annoying quest! Be sure and save lots of extras (i.e. wolf canines, large snake fangs and supple wolf pelts).

After completing this, there is some quest text, and another task is offered, called "Dorina's Personalized Gift", which I am doing now. (More info to come.)

I collected everything, handed it to Dorina, got the Folded Pack, gave THAT to Simu (since that is what the task text said), he took the pack, I went back to Dorina, and she said that she must have me make a better one, since her magic kept her from making anything too fancy.
So... I have this other task, called Dorina's Pesonalized Gift, whose first step is Create 4 Spider Silk Thread using tradeskills.
... In effect, I have to recollect everything, and make the thing myself.
Does this sound right?

For the recipe any "Spider Silk" from any spider in Norrath will do. To get the updates for the quest, however, the first 32 silks have to be looted from spiders in Goru'kar Mesa.
Trivial for the final combine is 170 in tailoring.
The folded silkfang pack is handed in, but Dorina gives it back to keep for own use.
