Raid Task: The Corruption of Ro

This is a 36-player raid task (minimum 6). The task locks as soon as it is given, preventing the addition of additional people, so make sure everyone is already in the raid before requesting the task.
If you requested this task without finishing the first 3 tasks given by Shalowen the Pure, you can get the task but you can't get through the door at the top. Shalowen the Pure can be found in the Elddar Forest at location -5, -127. You say, 'Hail, Shalowen the Pure' Shalowen the Pure says 'This key will allow you entry into the top of the shrine. Can you [gather a force] and stop what ever force is behind the corruption at the top of the tree?' The key referred to is the Carved Wooden Key looted from Ograf the Crafter at the end of "The Key to Corruption". You say, 'I can gather a force' Shalowen the Pure says 'I look forward to seeing you after your victory ____. ' With the key to the top of the shrine in your possession, Shalowen has requested that you gather a force and adventure back into the shrine to stop the corruption. Once inside you must travel to the top in order to stop the corruption before the power grows out of control. Search for Brazlin in the shrine room 0/1 (Tunare's Shrine) Confront the high priest for answers about the corrupted elves 0/1 (Tunare's Shrine) Slay the high priest to stop the corruption 0/1 (Tunare's Shrine) The entrance to Tunare's Shrine is located at the base of the massive tree to the south of the Ruins of Takish-Hiz zone-in. Once inside, fight your way to the top of the shrine and confront the high priest. You say, 'Hail, Brazlin the High Priest of Ro' Brazlin the High Priest of Ro says 'You fools think that [you can stop the corruption]?' You say, 'We can stop the corruption' Brazlin the High Priest of Ro says 'HA HA HA HA HA HA! Well at least you have a sense of humor. I would like you to meet my little friend. Guardian! Show these pathetic souls what pain is.' Guardian of the High Priest, a large sand golem, spawns in the center of the shrine. It needs to be killed. Guardian of the High Priest focuses on its master's target and begins to attack. Every 20%, a large number of golems spawns: The Guardian of the High Priest summons elementals of protection and commands them to attack! If you take too long to kill them, the High Priest will use them to heal the Guardian: Brazlin the High Priest of Ro channels energy from the core golems and heals his guardian. Upon its death: Guardian of the High Priest's corpse falls to the ground no longer able to serve its master. Brazlin the High Priest of Ro shouts, 'You weaklings will never stop the corruption, you should give up while you're still alive!' The tree shakes as Brazlin escapes once again. You have stopped the High Priest and the corruption for now. Travel back to Shalowen and tell him of your victory. Loot consists of 1 Chalice of Life (always) + 2 items from this list: Bauble of the Priesthood Blessing of Solusek Ro Last Blood (used to be Bazu Stone) Mantle of Ro's Revenge Pendant of Insurgency Trinket of Ro's Folly Task lockout = 3 days and 20 hours If you have also completed all three of Shalowen's group tasks, hand in Chalice of Life to him (so for this hand-in you can complete the tasks before or after the raid): Shalowen says, 'The Chalice of Life, you have done well my friend. The Chalice has been renewed to its original state. The Chalice must be protected at all costs. I trust that you will defend it with your life.' I could request the raid task, but could not get through the door at the top. Maybe I never did the group tasks idk. Will go back and do.

Should probably add that the loot is on the Guardian and you need to loot the chalice before you return to Shalowen. Spent an hour with a group trying to figure out what the heck we were doing wrong.

Appears as if 6 is the minimum required to request the instance. Also, there is some sort of level requirement, as having a level 52 in group merely to fill a seat resulted in message indicating the level spread was too great.
Just like Redfang in Demiplane, ae rooting the adds that spawn every 20% of the Guardian's health makes this event trivial. Once they're rooted, the main assist can simply pick each add one at a time until they are all dead.

Oh , So there is trash drops in the zone, I was hoping that the mask wasn't dropping from the end award event... That would make me pretty upset to get through all of that just to get a lame loot heheh.

Thats terrible...225 hp 220 mana 13 ac ???? You got to be kidding me... You can get better in the Bazaar... This loot must be "mis-placed" the other loots however are VERY nice...

That is apparently a random rare zone-wide drop in this instance. It is possible that the Guardian could drop that in addition to his normal loot table, but not in place of said loot. If you've seen it drop from the Guardian of the High Priest or any other mobs, let us know.

Does anyone have any strats to post for this encounter? We've tried this only a few times, and on the last try we got him under 50%. Apparently, we took too long to do it, and another mob spawned that DT'd a good portion of our raid all at once. Any strats would be appreciated.

rather weak for the amount of work done... the group missions are more like multi group missions, but after a bit of work, we pulled it out our ****, i have the key blah blah blah

In the patch today, April 19, 2006, if you have all the missions done, including the raid, and have obtained the Chalice of Life you can turn it into Shalowen the Pure for something. I have the Chalice of Life but still lack the group missions. Oh well, looks like I get to do other stuff now yay!
Maximum is 42, not 36

Who is the task giver?
Shalowen the Pure. You need to complete all 3 group missions first
