This flags you to start the quest for the epic 1.5 if you don't have the Celestial Fists (epic 1.0).
Are You Ready to Leave This Place, Grasshopper? "a fallen student" may be found in Lake Rathetear at +1350, +2075. You say, 'Hail, a fallen student' As you look at this individual, you can tell he has something bothering him greatly. The fallen student says, 'Eh? There is nothing I can help you with. I have nothing for myself anymore. . .except these [cursed dreams].' You say, 'What cursed dreams?' a fallen student says 'I sense something within you. . .You may walk the path, but I must be certain. The information I possess is too important to give to just anyone. If you believe you are worthy of the information I hold you will [complete this task] I ask.' You say, 'I will complete the task.' a fallen student says 'Do not think that it will be an easy feat, even for one with such capabilities as yourself. There are two masters you must find. They will show you the ways of the enlightened. Return to me after you have gained proof of your deeds.' You say, 'Show me the way of the enlightened.' a fallen student says 'Very well then. There is a place full of mirrors. Locate one of them and speak the words, 'I am ready to be tested.' It is at this point you will face the darkness within yourself. You will have to face this foe alone, remember that. Return back to me if you manage to prove that you are worthy of true enlightenment.' Master Cedrick The first master is Cedrick, found in Cobalt Scar at -970, +1185. You say, 'Hail, Cedrick' Cedrick says 'So you wish to challenge me, eh? Why else would you be here bearing the Sign of Acceptance. It is your own funeral though. If you still wish to [prove your worth] and ascend to the next level I am ready.' You say 'I will prove my worth.' Cedrick says 'I didn't know slime could speak common.. go back to the sewer before I lose my temper.' Cedrick attacks. Upon defeat, loot a Seal of Cedrick. Master Mystik Mystik is found in West Karana at +1370, -7350. You say, 'Hail, Mystik' Mystik says 'I see you bear the Sign of Acceptance. So you believe you are strong enough to accomplish all that is asked of you? If you stand true during this [test] you will find all you seek.' You say, 'I am ready for the test.' Mystik says 'In this test you will have to face me and prove that you have the heart to succeed. I hope you have brought strong allies to accompany you for you shall need them. We shall begin as soon as you are [ready to start].' You say, 'I am ready to start.' Mystik says 'I didn't know Slime could speak common..go back to the sewer before I lose my temper.' Mystik attacks. Mystik is highly fire-resistant, but vulnerable to magic and cold and is magic-slowable. Upon defeat, loot a Seal of Mystik. Return to Vortix You say, 'Hail, a fallen student' A fallen student says 'I see you do have the skill that is needed to continue this quest, but you must now face your hardest foe yet. For your final task, you will be alone, and in that moment you will have to face your true self. Many cannot bear to see what they find within. It is at that time we really see what we are capable of. If you wish to continue, I will [show you the way].' Hand in both seals. A fallen student says 'Very well then. There is a place full of mirrors. Locate one of them and speak the words, 'I am ready to be tested.' It is at this point you will face the darkness within yourself. You will have to face this foe alone, remember that. Return back to me if you manage to prove you are worthy of true enlightenment.' Mirror, Mirror Go to the Tower of Frozen Shadow. On the fourth floor, there is a mirror to zone out. Stand in front of the mirror and say, "I am ready to be tested." mirror reflection (a level 65 monk that looks like you) will spawn and attack. You must defeat it entirely solo. Once defeated, it drops a Medal of Identity. Head back to the fallen student and turn it in. A fallen student says 'So I see you do truly have the ability to follow the path of the Enlightened. I am sorry I was not sure before but I am now. Now I must tell you of my [cursed dreams].' Go to the zone out and stand in front of mirror and say i am ready to be tested.. be carful no to zone out.

Ok. I just did this and also read that someone said the request was lame. Yes, it is and a waste of time. If you are thinking of doing this 1.5 prequest...DON'T. You will still need the Celestial Fist for the 2.0 turn in after you have the Orb from AoA.

On Phinigel Cedrik is now current content again.
I just solo killed him with a few pieces of raid gear at level 70. I popped Speed Focus disc (which was a waste of a disc) and he died in about 12 seconds.
His max hit on me was 74. I am assuming they nerfed this NPC at some point in the past because the comments here state him being MUCH harder than this.

The correct mirror is on the 4th floor. Not the 5th floor.

These can be solo'd with bazaar gear with no merc now. Level 65 Monk.

Cedrick died at 19956 dmg to him... No DS... His best hit was 411...
Mystik died at 81107... No DS... Her best hit was 1584...
Mirror reflection died at 9008... No DS... His best hit was 274... Spawned on the same floor as Cara Omica... Need 3 keys to get to this floor...

Just a heads up, if anyone is using a weapon that procs a pet, don't use it, it will cause the mirror image to despawn. Just learned that the hard way a few minutes ago =/. You have to wait the 2 hour quest fail timer if that happens.

No Loc for mirror...no mobs surrounding where the mirror is. How is it after 7 years the basic information needed to guide you to the mirror doesn't exist?

1160 -20 186 is the loc. Typically 'a shadow' mob is spawned infront of it.

So, the right floor for the mirror is the 4th floor. The one you get to after you kill the enraged shadow beast. I said "I am ready to be tested to the mirror several times but nothing happened. Then I killed the train that was behind be because I was running with them behind me. After they were dead a couple seconds later, I said, again, " I am ready to be tested." There it was, my reflection... Took about 2 kicks and 2 punches to kill.

For the mirror mirror part, it's the 4th floor exit mirror. Not the 5th floor exit mirror.
Edit- I see some people posted that being there is no first floor then it would be 5th floor, if this is the logic being used then it would be on the 3rd floor not 5th. So when I was helping a monk figure this out, what did I do count each floor I was on before I got to Cara's floor....ground,library,bedrooms and finally !cara's catacombs! thats 4! Now correct me if im wrong that is four levels. On a more stupid note some believe there are nine levels of hell....but if eq logic plays then that would mean there are only 8 levels or 7.
Just go to Cara's level exit mirror "its the floor with mummies and shadowmen, catacomb maze one".

I started this today, and got snagged at the Mirror Reflection part.
I thought I was on the correct floor, the one with the wedding party? I also tried the next floor up form there just in case...
I tried targeting myself and having no target, but I still could not get the bugger to show up.

I am stuck at the mirror as well... 5th floor (where you zone out) said "I am ready to be tested" target and all with nothing... is this broken?? I did a /petition and will see what happens..
Edit:: Did this on Level 4 on the map it will have the exit point to the right and to level 5 it will show "E" if i knew how to add an image i would.. hope this helps good luck!

the only thing worth getting the epic for is the effect it has...you can get much better weapons off the last 2 expansions since Sony has no plans to implement further epic quests.

The mirror reflection actually spawns on the 5TH floor, since there is no floor 1, I wish people would get this straight in their posts, caused me no end of confusion
I started the 1.5 about 9 months ago and ended up taking a break from the game. When I returned I thought I would "start" my 1.5 so I started from the beginning and found that certain NPCs will not talk to me even though I have completed the tasks, a second time. Is there an NPC in the game that allows us to check where we are with our epic quest? From what I remember and have read there isn't, but I thought I would ask any way.

do NOT use your pet swarm weapon from plane of earth for the mirror reflection part of quest. my monk happend to proc his weapon and it was taken as "outside help" and mob depopped and i had to wait 30 minutes :(

My mirror reflection was going down pretty quickly when my healer merc dropped a heal on me, and he poofed, of course. I couldn't find any info on how long it takes to redo this part of the quest, so I'll post my experience here. I would try repeating "I am ready to be tested" to the mirror every few minutes, and got the mirror reflection to pop again after right around 30 minutes. Hope this helps.
Looks like you have to remove pet weapons when doing this. My pet proc got the last hit on the "mirror reflection" and died. Then the corpse immediately disappeared.

I got all the way up to the fourth floor (which took AGES btw thanks to the key not dropping (probably about 3 - 4 hours to get here)) and managed to spawn the mirror reflection, there were 2 or 3 other mobs around me at the time so I went to click on the mirror reflection to target him just as he punched me, ended up clicking the mirror behind him and got zoned out. Now he wont respawn and I can't seem to continue with this. Have I botched the quest or what?

I was having no luck with /sa "I am ready to be tested" in front of the mirror.
Then I decided to try targeting myself (had some other mob targeted)and saying it by the mirror. Out pops "mirror reflection" and down he went. Easy.

The mirror reflection is stupid easy. I just went to try it solo with my 60 monk and annihilated it. 5khp, 1600ac with only potion buffs. I launched Whirlwind disc followed by Innerflame and I lost a total of 15% life.

it's not a bug, you gotta turn in your first 2 seals to the fallen student, then goto tower of frozen shadows on 4th floor at the Zone Out mirror, and say, i am ready to be tested

LOL this whole quest was a joke... took me longer to get the key for the 4th floor than all the fights (includeing prep and moveing to them)

The mob MUST be soloed by the monk and the monk only. If he gets any kind of outside help ( slow / any other damage than from the monk / heal other than self healing ) the mob will despawn.
