**mob did not flag as rare, but did carry the secondary qualifier 'This creature would take considerable effort to defeat!'**
gadgets and contraptions self-buff with appropriate spells if you let them. Will occasionally mix appropriate offensive spells in while fighting.
mobs randomly dropped Saltpeter, both zone augs, sunshard pebbles, Flawed Defiant gear
appearance of all is the same as 'a busted power carrier'
Ring event can't be started or continued while solo...but an active Merc is fine to trick the script into continuing.

Find Researcher Kaeon located inside the factory (+33, -220, +4 - inside factory, first door to the left/east).
You say, 'Hail Researcher Kaeon' Researcher Kaeon says, 'Salutations. We have been monitoring your performance in the scrap yards. Your ability seems to rival your physical capabilities. We would like to test your endurance and mental abilities further. Would you comply to endurance testing?' You say, 'I will comply to endurance testing' Researcher Kaeon says, 'Excellent. We would like to test a maximum of six at one time. Are you ready to begin testing?' You say, 'We are ready' Researcher Kaeon says, 'Excellent I will now send you down to the testing bay. Assistant Kelrig will be there shortly with further instructions.' You and your group will be ported into a square room with eight alcoves. After a two to three minute wait, six waves of clockwork spiders (3-8 at a time) will spawn and attack. The spiders are relatively simple -- gadgets, devices, and contraptions hitting for a max of 200 (most hit for 100 or so). After you have gone through six waves, Assistant Kelrig spawns. He will ask you if you wish to leave or continue. You say, 'Hail, Assistant Kelrig' Assistant Kelrig says 'Interesting, your abilities have shown you to be sufficient. We would like to continue testing, are you ready to continue or would you like to quit here?' You say, 'continue' You say, 'ready to continue' Assistant Kelrig says, 'Your cooperation is appreciated, prepare yourselves.' Event continues another 5-6 waves until Kelrig respawns, giving the same commands. Or You say, 'Quit' Assistant Kelrig begins to cast a spell. Assistant Kelrig says 'We shall process the data that you have afforded us. Good bye.' You feel disoriented. You say, 'I am ready' You can repeat this process until the fourth wave, upon completion you will see: Assistant Kelrig says, 'Excellent. This data will be of great use to us. Thank you for your time. Goodbye.' You are ported out to the graveyard via the spell Mechinetic Dislocation IV. The trigger to get ported is "we are ready" saying I will comply with endurance testing got no response.
105 Rogue here. Got bored, tried to do this event by myself, wouldn't port me. Hopped my lvl 85 box on, grouped, hailed, and we both got ported to separate areas, BUT we were able to do the event.
It's still active, it just requires two real bodies.

researcher kaeon :
- red to lvl 64
- loc pos 33 , neg 220 , pos 4 (inside factory , first door to the left/east)
spawned mobs seem to be rangers in the spelldepartment (sow , low level skin/damage shield , str ...) and are blue to lvl 64 (some are even light blue)
spawn time seems to be 2min (for the first wave)
there can be up to 8 mobs per spawn (low seems to be 2 or 3)
they hit for 32-218 hp (lvl 64 monk with 1280ac) and do sumon . they trow around some lowlevel ranger spells also .
