Exterminator Filrog no longer accepts rat whiskers. He now (probably since the Trolls reclaimed Grobb) wants 4 Spiderling Eys. Filrog is in Grobb at pos 606, neg 216.
When you come in from the forest, go over the bridge and through the large gate. You have to go either left of right so go left through the small gate. You will see a rat on the ground in front of you. This is a spawn point so if you kill the rat another will pop in immediately. You can quickly get to level 3 here.

his loc is -40, -90. Rats go green at 5, although xp from 4-5 is slow.
1) He conned dark blue to my 54 troll SK
2) He will hit for a heck of alot more than 6 damage
3) He doesn't mana seive
About the only accurate statement is his hitpoints - I did 5K damage to him and he didn't dip past 99%.

I wonder if this has anything to do with the new race VI is going to introduce into EQ2 ? Or is every town just going to the rats ? What next, the Plague ?

FYI I was hunting guards in Neriak Commons when on my last pull the Exterminator decided to follow along. I quickly dispatched the other guards when I finaly coned the Exterminator. He we coned red to 55. I freaked for a second till I nodiced what he was hitting me for. he hit for a max of 6 damage and not very fast. I figured hey red con hits like a wuss, why not killhim. Well an hour later I brought him down to 98%. I enlisted the help of a few alliance members and we went to town. He cons even to lvl 61. Enrages at about 10% hp for a short bit. Has the same faction as the guards. And has 1.8 MILLION hp's. no joke. it is not low hp with high regen. or I could never have brought him down to the 98% solo. With every hit he also mana seives you. So being a pally I lost all my buffs shortly lacking the mana to rebuff. So a recap.

hits for 3-6 hps
mana seives
enrages around 10%
does not flee
I got nearly a full blue in exp. But no loot. and the almost 4 hours it took to kill is not worth the price.

Usually quest Npcs are like that...sorda to make people not wanna kill them....

It seems this guy is out to exterminate more than just rats. I tried to get the enchant metal spells from the library for my 20 Erudite Enchanter. This guy would agro on me and the guards would kill me. Sees thru invis and Dark Elf illusion, either of which has worked fine in the past. He stands near that bridge in Neriak Commons and will agro thru the wall before you can target him and alliance. I died twice trying different things. Finally got a guildmate to log on a DE alt to buy them for me. Beware, I have been exterminated.
What level does this quest stop being worthwhile?(ie: exp/coin)
I started a new Necro and was killing rodents to gain the first level or two, but they never dropped anything for me. But I would see people with 50 rodent corpses around them, all with loot on the corpses. Does that happen after you accept the quest?

Just started a DE Chanter last night and I killed these rats from level 1 through 3 nonstop.
Once you find a spawn location, you can stay there killing away because it's FIXED and once a rat dies, another one spawns and sits there waiting to be killed 2 seconds later.
I stopped at 3 because:
1) I needed more money than I could make doing this to buy my level 4 spells (only collected like 12 whiskers after all those kills).
2) I was getting board.
I rechecked them at 4 and still dark blue, so they're good to at least level 4 for pure-experience, but I say stop at 3. You can level faster somewhere else at that point.

I don't know if this is still true,but in Neriak the only rats that dropped any loot were the ones in the foriegn quarter.The rats in the commons and the in 3rd gate dropped nothing.

That makes sense. Although I think I tried killing a few in the Foreign Quarter. But I suppose they don't all drop stuff. It just seemed like when I would check just one of the hundred dead ones that someone else had left, they always had some loot.

That sounds about right. I think I got rid of my last piece of leather around 20, and my pride and joy was a sarnak ceremonial tunic and jarsath greatsword, and damn I was a twink then.

Ok guy i wont post it on all rodent quest page only here because Neriak my home town so...... You newbe have it so easy those time armor Quest, money quest, all those fonctionality added to make it simple............
