Mystic Abomin may be found in the Library in the Plane of Knowledge at /loc +74, +832, +5 which is right inside from the entrance on the right side. This NPC is on CTRL F find menu.
You say, 'Hail, Mystic Abomin' Mystic Abomin says 'The mystics of New Tanaan embrace your presence among us most kindly - regard us as a friend and mentor, should you need our guidance we have offered our services to the shamans of Norrath that venture in our city. Though our guidance is that of spells native to your world, the mystic scribes in this city may hold some convenience for we do not hold the prejudice of the material world's citizens. Beyond these familiar scrolls, I may be able to aid you further should you bring me a fledgling arcane item from the planes. You will know of that which I speak if and when you stumble upon such a rare and seemingly mundane item. Do not be fooled by its plain appearance - the primordial essence of pure magic resides in these arcane relics and I can be the key to unlock them to the shamanistic powers.' Hand in either an Ethereal Parchment, Spectral Parchment, or Glyphed Rune Word. Ethereal Parchments result in level 61-62 spells, Spectral Parchments in level 63-64 spells, and Glyphed Rune Words in level 65 spells. Mystic Abomin carefully takes the planar arcane item from you. With a careful eye, he inspects every portion of the incorporeal item before nodding to himself in satisfaction. The shaman then closes his eyes and chants lowly in an unfamiliar language. You feel the coalescing of spirits around you in the area as the shaman calls them forth to bless the arcane item in his grip. Dark runes of a rusted color begin to carve themselves onto a parchment that grows more real and tangible with each syllable uttered by the shaman. Eventually, his chant comes to a close and the completed item is handed to you without expectation of further aid on your behalf, 'Do not use this power without caution, ______. the best place to go to find the ethereal parchments (if anybody needs) is in PoJ, went there for 30 mins with an ok grp of a sham, clr, war, and dru, highest lvl was 56, we were fighting guards and the centaur guy that is somewhere near entrance. was there and we say it drop about 7 times, let most of it rot. druid was only smart one and looted one of them whgile i looted and destroted (big mistake since i need it). well hope that helps anyone. if it doesnt oh well. might also want to try going lower if you need other parchments for higher lvl spells.

Tier 1 ethereal is rare seen in it castle and the courtyards and the named that are all over the place. Tier 2 ethereal is uncommon and spectral rare and I'm guessing tier 3 ethereal common and spectral uncommon..
I have heard that if you hand in 4 parchments at once, you will always get 4 unique spells back, anyone know if this is true?

I believe there is something to this theory. I handed in 5 ethereal parchments to the shaman NPC today and got 5 unique spells. I turned them in one at a time, I am starting to believe that there might be an order to what spells the NPCs give.
Strange thing is on my 5th parchment I got Petrifying Earth, a level 64 spell, which I would've expected to require a spectral parchment.

64 Petrifying Earth comes from an ethereal parchment because it is also a 62 Necro spell. This is the only turn-in scroll for Shamans that falls outside the normal level range.
61 Replenishment is vendor sold in Plane of Knowledge, it should not be listed above as a reward.
63 Swift Like the Wind is vendor sold in Enchanter city guilds, and in Skyshrine -- level 49 Enchanter spell.

I handed in 2 to BST at the same time trying to get Infussion of Spirit, but was given 2 indentical spells (can't remember name of them though)
Well I must just be really unlucky then. I handed in 1, then 4 at once later on. Out of 5 scrolls, I got three of one and two of another.
Saving them up doesn't have any benefit at all.

Odds are you'll receive 4 different spells anyway, since there's a dozen to choose from. Why would handing them in at one time make any difference.

The parchments drop in all planes acording to their level. the drops are as follows:
Ethereal Parchments = Tier one planes
Spectral Parchments = Tier two planes
Shadowy Parchments = Tier Three planes

A few days ago I got one off of those spear wielding frogmen in PoN. For the life of me I can never remember how to spell their names. They also drop a nice poker.

seems the halloween patch made drops super rare now... If you find a camp where a full group can get 1 every 2 hours you are blessed.
I personally solod the castle courtyard area in plane of disease (55 to 57 mobs) for the last 3 days and haven't gotten anything but a level and a few 8 plat sellables.
I've seen parchments drop there but they hella rare... I recommend hunting even higher lvl mobs if you can handle them.

halloween patch supposedly putting the parchment drops on diff stuff, hopefully we can get some scrolls without ks'ing the punisher group now =)
I'm gonna try the cell stuff in the punisher area and see if they added drops to those guys. I'll also try some gaolers and high guards and post what i find out.

best spot we have found is in justice plane down by the jail cells we got bout 10 parchments today in bout 8 hours total so not bad spot there

So far Parchment seems to be random from any mobs in a PoP zone. Maybe higher level mobs have a higher drop rate?
Just kill in your favorite PoP spot, sooner or later you'll get one.

They also are rare to very rare, off normal "yard trash"
Does anyone know a good place to hunt for Ethereal Parchment? I'm curious if there is a place where one could hunt with a single group and have a reasonbly good chance of walking away with a parchment or two during his hunting?
Any info on this would be great... so far Innovation and Nightmare haven't turned up any while I've been there....

well we were in PoD in a courtyard i think and we were killing underbulks and night crawlers, at lvl 52 its took a good 3-5 min to kill them lol exp was great, btw 3hours there 5 dropped thought it was odd, lol i didnt win any of them o well, hope it helps

The Ethereal Parchment's supposedly drop in all the planar zones available so far. I personally have seen them drop in PoJ and PoI but have heard them dropping elsewhere. They are very rare drops though as I've only seen two drop. Good luck!
