Shadowwalkers Chainmail Favor

This quest is for gnome rogues.
You say, 'Hail, Morlan Tanlonikan' Morlan Tanlonikan says 'Greetings there Gearsword! I am Welno Tanboots Assassin of Akanon. I pride myself on being one of the few to train our younger prospects in the ways of the rogue. If you are a young gnome rogue in training then I might have some [tasks] for you.' You say, 'what tasks?' Morlan Tanlonikan says 'Well I should hope you are truly a Rogue of Akanon or else I don't have any work for ya! However if you are then I have some things for you to do. I will present you with a magical box that you will use to craft together certain components that will make an armor material. You will then take the material that you have fashioned with the proper pattern to the forge to create your own armor. I will provide you with whatever patterns are necessary along with the [armor recipes] should you so ask.' You say, 'what armor recipes?' Morlan Tanlonikan says 'I have the armor recipes for all pieces of Chainmail of the Shadowwalker all you must do is simply ask for whichever piece you [want to craft]. I can provide you with the recipe for Shadowwalker [Coifs], [Bracers], [Sleeves], [Boots], [Leggings], [Gloves] and [Tunic]. Once you have collected the necessary components for each recipe combine them in this box to fashion the correct material.' You say, 'I want to craft a tunic' Morlan Tanlonikan says 'I'm glad to see that you have progressed this far in your training and that you are ready to craft your final armor piece. To create your tunic material you will need to combine 5 Bricks of Crude Bronze, 1 Minotaur Scalp, 1 Brownie Parts, 1 Runaway Clockwork Motor, 1 Swirling Mist and the evil Dirolensab`s Bracer in your assembly kit. Once you have created the proper material take it to a forge along with this mold to fashion your very own Shadowwalkers Chainmail Tunic. When you are finished with your tunic please come back to see me as I have a [favor] to ask of you.' You say, 'what favor?' Morlan Tanlonikan says 'Well you see I have been working on constructing some new daggers for all new rogues but I am in need of a few items to make my first prototype. If you were able to collect the [rare items] I am in need of to make this dagger I would be happy to give you the first I make should I be able to create it. Will you collect these rare items for me?' You say, 'I will collect the rare items' Morlan Tanlonikan says 'Excellent please seek out 2 Minotaur Scalps and 2 Mountain Lion Jawbones and return to me with them when you are done.' | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

The rogue guild master that gives these quest is actually Morlan Tanlonikan and not Welno Tanboots as listed. Morlan is just to the right of Welno.

Yes this is very peculiar. Not only did they move all of the quests from Wenlo to Morlan (a relatively new NPC from what I can tell), Wenlo's name was also changed at some point over the years (I imagine when the newbie armor quests were first put in).
Morlan even responds to you when you hail him informing the player that he is in fact Welno Tanlokikan Assassin of Ak'anon.
Anyway I added in the Morlan NPC and attached all the quests to him instead and tried to update all the text in each to accurately reflect who is giving you the quests.
Though I can't do anything about the fact that you still use Wenlo's container to do the combines.

I recently got this dagger. I bought both the Minotaur Scalps from vendors and found both the Jawbones on 'Small' Mountain Lions in the newbie area next to the druid ring. I ran around killing everything between the druid ring and the kobold camps until lions popped, kept doing it until I had 2 jawbones. When equipped it looks like a Jagged Ice Shard... you know, the small curved serrated blade with the pink gem in the yellow hilt. Anyway, hope this helps 8)

Ok got the dagger, he has a bug in that he no longer gives you the [favor] when you ask about a tunic, but if you know what to say already...

Bah...that sux. Was hoping for a weapon good for up to high 20's. Anyway..when I wasked for the tunic he gives me the quest for the boots. Just get 2 jawbones and 2 Mino scalps and give them to him.

The Jawbones are supose to drop now. Was fixed in the 24th of July Patch.

My god!!! i have been killing lions and auctioning for 3 days! and nothing.. not one!!!

As far as I know mountain lions appear only in Steamfont in all of Norrath and Luclin. At level 9 until level 12 yesterday, about 4 hours total of messing around, and killing 5 quadzillion mountain lions; no jawbone had dropped. Not one!

agreed, I spent 4 to 5 days killing everything in the zone hoping to get a pair of these jawbones. Im 24th level and couldnt find a one.

I hope when Verant will put the "rare" ( or maybe they are very very very rare) items and give a better weapon then for the sk's gnome newbie weapon...

I really think this quest is broken because I've killed so many mountain lions and not even one jawbone and we need 2 to complete the quest !!!

just out of curiosity, where do mountain lions spawn? I have nothing better to do, so I might as well see how good these newbie quests are =)

Has anyone even *seen* a jawbone yet? Are they no drop or can they be traded? for the rarity of these jawbones, this better be a D@#$ good dagger:P

I haven't seen any Jawbones either, have been killing mountain lions continuously and auctioning for them every once in a while but no one has heard of them. This has to be an extremely rare drop, and my god, we need two! About ready to petition to make sure the dang thing is available!
