Yay!! You need two Thick Grizzly skins. I got them off of the young kodiaks. I also got a few high quality bear pelts too during all that hunting.

You say, 'Hail, Dalorio Blistbobble' Dalorio Blistbobble says 'Zonkers! You scared me! Well it is good to meet you nonetheless young Lobracawen. Many young Guardians of the Vale often come to me for guidance. If there is something I can help you with in your training you make sure you let Dalorio know! In the meanwhile I will be working on my [trade]. ' You say, 'what trade?' Dalorio Blistbobble says 'Well you see Lobracawen, I have been an aspiring blacksmith for quite sometime now. I have spent mostly all of my spare time since I was just a wee whipper snapper like yourself collecting different materials and trying to craft anything and everything of value in our town forge. Blacksmithing has always interested me and that interest is exactly what led to the creation of my [special recipes]. ' You say, 'what special recipes?' Dalorio Blistbobble says 'Well its funny that you ask Lobracawen, I have just recently perfected my smithing recipes for Proudfoot Platemail. I would be willing to part with my recipe along with a mold for each piece of this fine platemail to any apprentice willing to [collect the necessary items] to craft it. ' You say, 'I will collect the necessary items' Dalorio Blistbobble says 'You will eh Lobracawen? I am happy to hear of an upcoming Warrior of the Vale willing to collect the items necessary to craft their own armor. I must admit that you could really use some armor because it can get quite dangerous out in the thicket! Now back to business! To craft your own Proudfoot Platemail you will need my magical assembly kit that you will combine the items I ask you to gather for specific recipes. After you have done this you will use the pattern I give you along with the material you have fashioned and combine it in a forge to yield your armor piece. Now are you [ready to get started]? ' You say, 'I am ready to get started' Dalorio Blistbobble says 'Very well Lobracawen, let's get to it! Here is my personal Platemail assembly kit. Inside this magical assembly kit you will combine certain items collected both from the thicket and our great city of Rivervale. It is my hope that while you progress in your training and through the different armor pieces that you will be able to learn of your surroundings both inside and outside the Vale. If you are ready to start fashioning your items simply tell me what armor piece you [want] to make. I have the recipe for Proudfoot Platemail [Helms], [Bracers], [Armguards], [Boots], [Greaves], [Gauntlets] and [Breastplates]. As a side note, make sure you craft your Breastplate last due to the difficulty of collecting the items for it. You say, 'I want to make greaves' Dalorio Blistbobble says 'I would have to agree that some Greaves are the most important armor piece in any Halfling Warriors arsenal. If you wish to make the material necessary for these Greaves then gather 4 Bricks of Crude Iron Ore, 2 Ruined Mossy Rat Pelts, 2 Thick Grizzly Bear Skins and 1 Bixie Parts then combine them in your kit. I also have all of the item required but won't combine. I have one thick one so I am gonna try to get another thick one and try that. If it works I will repost.

I had two problems, first was trying to use the grizzly bear skins I got from WC. Once I realized I could just use the thick grizzly skins I already had, I had put my container back in the bank...when I just swapped the bear skins, it did nothing. No error message, no combine...after it dawned on me that the container was in the bank, I pulled it out and stuck it in my inventory and voila, a new pair of greaves. :)

you might have the wrong thing. that happened to me too, during the boots. i realized after about 15 minutes. i had tarsus instead of the required tibia. double, even triple check the names and spellings of everything

I finally had everything I needed, the material, the mold...........I go to the forge, put the stuff in, some lady comes up to me, offers me a trade, I accept, she tells me she's deleting characters..........gives me a pair of rygorr chainmail pants..........I sob to myself about all the time wasted...... but probably if I didn't do the quest the lady would never come to give me the pants. Fate has its ways.

I have seen Thick Grizzly Bear Skins, but no Grizzly Bear Skins, are they the same?
Why would you need HQ bear skins ? he want's Grizzly bear skins
thick grizzly bear skins to be more percise, the grizzly bear skins are for tailoring shaman medicine bags.

Bixie Parts are a common/moderate drop off pretty much any bixie (bixie, drone, queen). This looks like a piece of meat.
Apparently Grizzly Bear Skins drop off Young Kodiaks outside the wall in Misty Thicket. I myself took my druid to North Karana and just killed Grizzy Bears for them. You can probably also get Grizzly Bear Skins off the Kodiaks in West Commons as well. Be prepared to get a lot of Ruined Bear Pelts in the process (and maybe a HQ if you're killing Kodiaks).
Bricks of Crude Iron ore are dropped off Goblin Warriors in the area outside the wall and are a moderate drop. They are heavy (15) so be prepared to make a lot of trips (you'll need about 23 for a full suit) or take a weight reduction bag.
The Mossy Rat Pelts are a moderate/uncommon drop off Diseased Rats at either of the undead camps to the left and right when you exit Rivervale into Misty Thicket. The camps are fairly big and the rats/skeletons will aggro anyone of any level so take care. You will have to put up with getting a lot of Ruined Mossy Rat Pelts and the occasional Undamaged Mossy Rat Pelt, but all the pelts are tradable, so offer them in /ooc to others that may need them.

Ummmm just so you know you dont "have to put up with" getting ruined mossy rat pelts as that is what the quest says you need...

Ive been to all three places, no luck with a grizzly bear skin, only Thick grizzly skins 8( You sure the kodiaks have them???
if you pay closer attention to the quest dialog, you have already found the skins you need. grizzly bear skins are a tailoring component, thick grizzly bear skins are the quest component you are after. hope that clears up some things and prevents a lil of the over all frustration of these insane newbie quests. 8)
