You level up high enough to kill a cyclops and she gives you some crappy spell that you can just buy for a few gold at most. Even in the days when money was harder to acquire, you could easily save up enough for these spells by killing trash mobs. 7 platinum even feels like poor compensation for the work of leveling and killing a cyclops, and the faction hits aren't even that great.

Not all spells were available the same places then as they are now. Many could only be gotten by questing or tradeskilling. For example some of the spells from LDON adventures were only available thru the LDON point system and later became available for purchase thru NPC.
Xelha is an Innoruuk worshiping necro guildmaster on Dismal Rage faction. She accepts cyclops eyes at 500 faction (kindly). She will not take a cyclops eye at 495 faction (amiably) or less -- she'll hand it back to you with no message.
So to raise faction initially, I handed in a bunch of bone chips (you can buy bone chips from vendor just inside Feerrott the Dream). After reaching kindly, I could hand in all my cyclops eyes.
BTW, she will not talk to you before 100 faction (amiably). But she will accept the bone chips before then.

This quest was also nerfed - no exp - u still get a reward - but not worth the bother anymore - you would get more exp and faction doing the cb belts and shoulders in this case - considering eye vendor for plat - you can use to buy belts

Confirmed that giving her a Cyclops eye does work after the Feb 4th patching. You can give her one eye or four, you'll get faction and experience either way. Reward is a random level, random class spell.
I'm doing the quest with a level 30 Necromancer who conned warmly with Xelha. Maybe level and con factor into getting the reward.

Oki i tried this with my level 5 Erudite Necro. My main had got the eye whilst hunting in S.K and a s a good character i passed to necro. I Conned Xelha and was amiable. Having alreday done bonechips , spiderling silk and firebeetle eye and getting xp and cyclops eye spiel i thought "oki" and gave her the eye .. the response "I will do nothing to aid beings like you" and lost the eye. I messaged a GM who i knew and was told "this quest not only relies on faction but also on race and standing" From this i assume that its only open to necro's from E.Freeport or to necro's who hve reached a level that they could kill cyclops (possibly to prevent harvesting by higher level alt) just a thought anyone have anything extra that can shed light onto this elusive reply from the GM'S?
I just did this with my DE Necro. Only reply I got was I will do nothing to aid beings like you and she kept the eye. I did not receive faction or xp. When conned she was amiably.

Got gate for one eye, leering corpse for another. Can't tell the xp at level 56 but maybe its a bunch if low. Got about 2 eyes per four regular cyclops in rathe mountains.
Gave her a cyclops with a level 9 inny worshpping wizard (who conned amiable). got "I will do nothing to aid beings like you" response.

I don't remember if in some of the posts down the page said they tried giving her all three at one time or not. I tried this last night, putting the three runes in order of top, middle, and bottom... Unfortunatly, all three of them are not what she's looking for. On to endless cyclops camping then.
I tried again killing cyclops in various areas, never got

Itis Broon, Droon, Proon one of these. One that spawns near the bridge in EK as my hubby and I killed him once and the eye he had is no drop. We left it on him since it was no drop and someone in zone may have needed it. My husband being a barb could not do the quest and myself a dark elf have very bad factions with these ppl so I couldn't either. This cyclops was one of the tougher of the three but not the toughest. The easier(lower lvl) one usually spawns over near ramp going to HHP the other two seem to spawn between the bridge and druid rings near the water.

I had a 53 necro on Bertoxx server, but have recently started over. I do know this. It is a "Cyclops Eye" and it looks like a fire beetle eye cept blue.
I have looted one before, but did not know at the time I needed it. I do remember laughing and telling my roomate I just beat a Cyclops's a$$ and took his eye. It was destroyed. Neither do I remember where I got it as I have hunted a whole lot of clops. I do know that it is on one of these, because these are the only cyclops I have ever killed.

Broon, Droon, Proon = Proon is my bet, and will be working on him again. This set spawns by water between the bridge and the druid ring.

a Cyclops, Tarskuk, Occully's Ogrefiend = No clue, I've killed all of them multiple times and can not remember ever looting one there. Although it is a possibility.
Ocean of Tears
a Cyclops, SeaFury, Corrupted, Undead = = No clue, I've killed all of them multiple times and can not remember ever looting one there. Although it is a possibility.
That should narrow it down some. Hopefully this time next week I will know the answer. I figure if you have to be level 35+ to kill a cyclops of any kind...this better be a damn fine item. Else I shall have Xalha's eye to add to my collection.

Rathe Mountains, Eastern & Southern Karanas. I checked the listing above, and found that they ARE dropped by the cylopses from the aforementioned locales. Not high enough to deal with them though. Only L15 Wizzy.

i gave her this. which i recieved from lenka pouch quest and it did nothing.
I tried the illusion and Benevolance, but she still wouldn't give me the quest. I might try taking a necro in my guild out to rathe and take down Tarskuk so he can try. I will also cast identify on the charm. Often times it gives you a different name or description for the item. It may well identify as a cyclops eye.

Did you ever think maybe you have to return the "Rune of the one eye" off of broon froon choon etc?
If you read down a ways on the thread, you will see that someone already tried that. I don't know if anyone has tried giving her all three yet though.
As far as I know, no cyclops drops an actual "eye". The named Cyclops Tarskuk in Rathe Mountains, however, drops a cyclops charm that's used for one of the Ivy Etched pieces. It looks like a necklace, but I wouldn't be surprised if it's actually meant to be his eye dangling on a chain. I've had one in my pack for about 3 weeks now. Guess it's time for illusion Dark Elf and my super faction boosting Benevolance spell. I will post the results.

These drop from normal Cyclops. I got one in Rathe Mountains, but thought it was crap so i sold it. They are not nodrop, so you can get them with higher levels and then give them to low levels.

If she gave NO response, that means you are on the correct track. Sounds like she will reward you for giving all 3 of the Runes, which they mentioned are used for the Ivy etched.

if she gave no response it can mean only one thing, the npc said that something along the line of " thanks, but i really didnt need this " and the person felt it wasnt nescassary to say that, its a given when nothing happens " nothing comes of it ", if he had given a correct piece of the quest the npc would have made a statement about how she needed 3 more or 1 more or such, saying like " dont bring me just one, i need all four "

Earlier I did the bonechip quest from Xelha. I couldnt activate the quest by talking to her, so I just gave her one bone chip. She said nothing but took it. Then I gave her 4 bone chips and she took them and said her "thanks speech". So obviously it was the right componenet and didn't give a response cause she was waiting for 4 ;)
sounds like you may be on the right track to me. it stands to reason that she would want 4 (four) of the cyclops eyeballs, just like the other items. also i have encountered the no msg thing when my faction was not high enough.

Maybe the eye is from a Seafury Cyclops or some named cyclops not undead but a SUPER rare drop like those peoples teeth in MM. Well just a thought no need to pay attention to me the little ol' lvl 18 monk in KUnark.
