Prerequisite Quest(s): Death Finds a Way
This group mission is part of the 23rd anniversary. There is a minimum level to request the mission. (maybe 115? Let us know) You can get this shared task from Krastoraab Puremane in Shar Vahl. He is in the city at the entrance leading from Shadeweaver's Thicket at /waypoint -496, 79, -190 or you can find him via the find tool CTRL F. You say, 'Hail, Krastoraab Puremane' Krastoraab Puremane says, 'If you would like a reminder of why the [cycle] is important, I would be more than glad to talk to you about it again. However, if you wish to continue your [education], I can offer some assistance in that request as well.' You say, 'education' Krastoraab Puremane says, 'I'm glad to hear that you decided to take up a higher education about the cycle. You may have noticed that each of the disciples you spoke with are, ironically, not continuing onto the next stage of the cycle. Concepts such as what is "living" and "dead" usually can cause confusion when it comes to living and dying, especially when it comes to the undead. Ghosts and spirits have the capacity to take a moment to pause and observe the cycle. These entities are not outside of the influence of the cycle. It is quite the contrary actually. They are still a part of the cycle of life and death, though their [journey]to Ehayae is postponed for the time being.' You say, 'journey' Krastoraab Puremane says, 'The disciples you spoke with want to test your mettle and make sure you fully understand their lessons. If you are willing to take up arms, I have already spoken with the four spirits and they will meet you at the Deep. Be warned as once they start fighting, their emotions will take over and there is no stopping them. You must give them your all in order to defeat them. They will not hold back. Are you sure you are [ready]?' You have been assigned the task 'Beyond Espoir'. You say, 'ready' Krastoraab Puremane says, 'Excellent, I will wait here for your return. To prove to me that you have a full understanding, you will be given a bauble after you have finished your lesson. None of the spirits know what is inside the box so you won't be able to cheat. Bring that item to me.' LOADING, PLEASE WAIT... You have entered Trial of the Cycle. 1. Defeat the first disciple, Jonus 0/1 The Deep Jonus is nearby, where you zone in. He is not aggro until you hail him. You can kill trash around the area first, if you want to. The various horror fiends (trash MOB's, all appear to be around the level of the highest level in the group) seem to see through both Invisible and Invisible to Undead. When you hail Jonus he morphs into a Hooded Shade and attacks. The Bonus step here (for the Challenge Achievement) is to kill him while your health is below 50%. This will require careful healing, after Jonus is below 5% to 10% health. 2. Defeat the second disciple, Lorelei 0/1 The Deep NOTE: All of the targets (Boss's) are on Find. When you hail Lorelei, she morphs into a Banshee. Lorelei Carversbane scowls at you, ready to attack -- looks like quite a gamble. (Lvl: 120) You say, 'Hail, Lorelei Carversbane' Lorelei Carversbane says, 'HA HA! Come adventurer, show me what you are made of!' At about 50%-ish Lorelei Carversbane calls for assistance and two adds spawn and attack you, as well as heal Lorelei Carversbane. A devout trumpeter (Level 120) will heal Lorelei. A stalwart herald (Level 120) They do not de-spawn if Lorelei dies first. Champions from the past, lend me your aid! Lorelei Carversbane's corpse disperses and an image of the original Lorelei appears for a moment. 'I had such fun today adventurer! I enjoyed our battle for glory! You understand this more than most! Continue your lesson eastward. Till we meet again!' You have slain Lorelei Carversbane! Your task 'Beyond Espoir' has been updated. The Bonus step here (for the Challenge Achievement) is to kill her while her 'healer' add (a devout trumpeter) is still alive. 3. Defeat the third disciple, Salk 0/1 The Deep When you hail Salk, she morphs into a Tiger. You say, 'Hail, Salk Hopfit' Salk Hopfit says, 'Your path requires balance between life and death. Stray but a hair's width away from the edge and you will not succeed!' The cycle of life and death demands balance. Are you capable of the same? Salk Hopfit's corpse dissipates, but an image of Salk appears to say, 'Well fought, you understand why there needs to be a balance between life and death now more than ever. Sineb is waiting for you near the bridge to the northeast.' You have slain Salk Hopfit! Your task 'Beyond Espoir' has been updated. 4. Defeat the fourth disciple, Sineb 0/1 The Deep When you hail Sineb, she morphs into an Owlbear. You say, 'Hail, Sineb' Sineb says, 'I will show you what primal energies are at play!' You have been given: Primal Owlbear Beak --You have looted a Shroud of Unending Cycles from a lockbox .-- You say, 'Hail, Sineb' Sineb says, 'Well done mortal. You fully grasp how important the balance of life and death is. You understand that without that fire in your belly to drive you forward, there can be no progress. Moving on from loss is something that we all have to deal with from time to time. That does not mean we forget who we lost. We just get better at fighting without them by our side. Remember this, and you will do well in your future struggles. Now, if you wish to [leave], I can show you the exit. Grow in your adventures as you would, but remember that everyone is fighting their own fights. May the cycle watch over you and bless you in your journeys.' You say, 'leave' LOADING, PLEASE WAIT... You have entered Shar Vahl. 6. Return the beak to Krastoraab 0/1 Shar Vahl Give the Primal Owlbear Beak to Krastoraab Puremane. Krastoraab Puremane says, 'Excellent. Thank you for returning this to me. This proves that you were able to overcome the challenges that the disciples have given you. Your understanding is complete. Without Ehayae's work, there can be no death. Without Drinal's work, there can be no life. Without Sahteb Mahlni, there can be no strength or drive for progress. Thank you for taking these lessons to heart Bonzz. I do hope we cross paths again in the future. Until then, go in peace and know that you play an important role in cycle of life and death.' Wherever this beak was found, it was a place of immense power. I do not know where he got this, but he would be wise to return it to whatever corner of Luclin it was taken from. Take this. It should protect you in your journeys. Give the beak back to Krastoraab. I will speak with him later about what he has found, once I learn what it means myself.'
