You can obtain this quest from Thach Jerden from near the entrance of the zone from Cobalt Scar just out of the tunnel at -3129, -2719, -110.

You say, 'Hail, Thach Jerden'

Thach Jerden looks you up and down before addressing you, 'I've seen you before! Yes yes! You were in the Plane of Knowledge, I think I saw you speaking with Gerta, the blacksmith! Sorry about having to leave the Plane of Knowledge like that. To be frank, I got bored with just trading for knickknacks, so I decided to join a band of [dragon hunters] to see more of Norrath and beyond! Just, I didn't expect that hunting dragons would be so darn difficult!'

You say, 'dragon hunters'

Thach Jerden says, 'Aye, figured with all of the stuff you've been giving me, I'd try my hand at adventuring myself. You make it look so easy! I thought maybe I could just do what you adventurers did and with the right group, it would be exciting and fun. I joined the Oresco Hunters in search for a fortune. So far, this has only been a [nightmare].'

You say, 'nightmare'

Thach Jerden makes a look on his face that says 'I'm in over my head' but doesn't want to admit it. 'Yeah...', he says as he lets out a long sigh, 'You may have seen Colwell Emtray roaming these wastes, they are a part of the group that took me under their wing, so to speak. They seem to have a higher understanding of my [talents] than I do.

You say, 'talents'

Thach Jerden says, 'If the talent is 'being swallowed whole by a long toothed draconic monster', then yes, one would say I have a bit of a knack for something like that. While it is a neat trick, I can almost do it just once, so I need a bit more help with the other parts of being an [adventurer].'

You say, 'adventurer'

You have been assigned the task 'Thach Haul'.

Thach Jerden says, 'Oh! Hey! Maybe you can help me, one of the tasks I need to accomplish requires me to travel around the Western Wastes at my leisure, If you could clear out some of these wurms and get back to me, I can move forward with my task at hand! I'll be a lot safer with less of those around to turn me into an hors d`oeuvre.'



Task Window Text: Thach has hatched a plan that will need help from a much braver soul than he, or at least one a bit more difficult to be swallowed whole.

  2. Return to Thach 0/1 The Western Wastes

    Tell Thach what happened.

    You say, 'Hail, Thach Jerdin'

    Your task 'Thach Haul' has been updated.

    Thach Jerden says, 'You made it? I mean, you made it! I cannot be more thrilled to see that you are still in one piece after fighting those wurms! The next step requires me to get some stuff from within the dragon caves to the northeast. The dragons here have been getting more and more agitated with all of this strangeness happening to the ice here. We want to figure out how this is really affecting them. I just need you to dispatch some of the caretakers in the cave so I can continue our work!



  3. Kill Caretakers in the Dragon Caves for Thach 0/20 The Western Wastes

    Thach requires you to destroy the caretakers from within the dragon caves on the northeastern part of the Western Wastes0.



  4. Return to Thach and tell him what happened 0/1 The Western Wastes

    You say, 'Hail, Thach Jerden'

    You have been given: Thach's Sealed Letter

    Thach Jerden says, 'I wouldn't believe it if I didn't see it with my own eyes! You've still returned! I didn't know you had it in you! The velium in the ice seems to be what has been causing all of the odd formations to form around the spires. This is a fascinating discovery and this needs to be brought to the attention to the other dragon hunters! Bring this letter to Colwell. Not sure where to find him? Well I can attest that he is in the Western Wastes, so good luck!



  5. Deliver missive to Colwell Emtray in the Western Wastes 0/1 The Western Wastes

    You have been given: Colwell's Weathered Dragon Skull

    Colwell Emtray seems to be in a somewhat chipper mood, as a person who really loves doing their job. 'Hail adventurer, you seemed to have come to us at a very busy ti... wait, what's this?' Colwell continues to read the missive, his face dropping to a more soured expression. 'I see. Well this does seem to explain a lot.' Colwell reaches around in his bag and pulls out a dragon skull and hands it to you. 'I'm not exactly sure what Thach is planning, but if it involves this skull who am I to say no? He might be learning a new way to hunt dragons! Bring that back to him, he is looking for it.'



  6. Deliver the skull to Thach 0/1 The Western Wastes

    You get the feeling that you just helped someone who can't hunt dragons prove to people who can hunt dragons that they can hunt dragons, even though they cannot hunt dragons. It will be fine, you hope.

    Thach Jerden says, 'Finally! This morning Colwell came across a small dragon skeleton and I've been wanting to sell it... erm, donate it to a museum so that they can catalogue more about the anatomy of dragons. I'll keep this safe from prying eyes, you never know what kind of dubious characters will take advantage of you!'

This quest is one of the partisan quests. Solo task, unlimited timer. No pre-requisites, and it seems like you can get all the partisan at once.
