Speak with Tobart Dirkins in the tavern called The Broken Glacier in Thurgadin. You say, 'Hail, Tobart Dirkins' Tobart Dirkins says 'Hail and welcome to the Broken Glacier, _____. Ye'll find the bar downstairs and comfortable rooms up top. Can I interest you in one of our signature mugs? Only a platinum piece they are!' Hand him 1 platinum and receive "The Broken Glacier Souvenir Mug". Tobart Dirkins says 'Thank ye and enjoy it. All the bars here in Thurgadin have their own mugs, just ask the barkeep if'n yer interested.' There are five different bars in Thurgadin. You can obtain different mugs from some of them. Find Doogle McBanick in the tavern called Doogle's Drinks. You say, 'Hail, Doogle McBanick' Doogle McBanick says 'Welcome ta me bar, I suggest ye sit down and have a drink cause if'n ye ain't drinkin ye've no business bein 'ere.' You say, 'What signature mug?' Doogle McBanick says 'Mug, yeah we got a lot of mugs here but what has that got to do with anything.' Hand him 3 gold pieces to receive "Doogle's Signature Souvenir Mug". Find Adia Coldbeard in the tavern called The Icy Mug. You say, 'Hail, Adia Coldbeard' (She gives no reply.) Hand her 5 gold pieces to receive "The Icy Mug Souvenir". Adia Coldbeard says 'Thank ye for yer Patronage. Enjoy yer mug and be sure ta visit us often.' Find Loremaster Fronden in a different tavern (which?). You say, 'Hail, Loremaster Fronden' (He gives no reply.) Hand him 1 platinum piece to receive "The Broken Glacier Souvenir Mug" (this would be the wrong mug for the tavern he is in). Loremaster Fronden says 'Thank ye and enjoy it. All the bars here in Thurgadin have their own mugs, just ask the barkeep if'n yer interested.' A fourth mug is known to exist: "The Velium Keg Collectors Mug", and there is a tavern called The Velium Keg in the zone (how to actually obtain this item remains unknown). The 4th maybe from the Holy Harbinger, The Barkeep in there gives you a Broken Glacier Souvenir mug also. I have given him up to 5pp in pp and in gp. Same mug everytime. They MAYBE have yet to put this mug in the game.
Tried everyone in the Velium Keg, once again using 1pp and 5gp, Noone gave out any mugs. These may also not yet be implemented in the game.

I spoke to one NPC in the pub in the miner section by the brew barrel. He talked about Coldains Finest Ale. I didnt spend a lot of time trying to figure out how to get him to say more.
I wonder if the mugs were somehow combined to
make this and given to the NPC. He is the closest
dwarf by the brew barrel(forgotten name now.)

I paid 5 gold for the one the guy actually mention and asks you to buy. And after I bought it he said I should take the mug back to (somewhere/someone). He was talking about me being an outlander and basicly me taking it home. I didn't think too much about it, figured I would just head back to Kaladim and wander the bars there to get some more information. Haven't had a chance to do that yet, but if anyone else does and gets some good responses, let me know. I swear someone in Kaladim is going to know about these mugs.

I don't know about people selling those mugs back to the dorfs. I bought one of the mugs in a tavern, by handing 5 gold in via trade window, not shopping window. And the bartender dwarf actually talks about his mug and says he's selling it for 5 gold. So I'm thinking people aren't buying the ones that are sold to dwarves, rather, people are killing the bar tender dwarf that are selling the mug.

These mugs drop off the dorfs in the bars in thurg, your most likely buying them from vendors ppl have sold them to after working their kd faction.

You may kill for the mugs those of us on dragon faction and dorf faction have to buy them hail the barkeeps and they tell ya you can buy a souvenir mug for some gold pieces not sure how many

Could it be possible that it is used in an unknown brewing receipe. Could be the container for the drink that does not disappear in consumption.

I had never hear of these mugs untill i found 2 of them on the floor of the safe hall in Lower Guk. Both have no name to them (just Icy Mug Souvenir Stein) MAGIC all all. That's it. So, I will be hanging on to them untill I find out more of what is going on with them. Who knows, they maybe an invitation to a Mugs only GM event where an UBER item is given out. heh after these weak event they have been having they need one lol
Aye, as someone mentioned earlier, there is a stein that drops off a mob in Crystal Caverns called a Hollow Crystal. It is a large stalag terror, much like the Life Leech and spawns in the same places. This Stein is all/all, but Magic, Lore and No Drop. Stats are 10agi/cha 20sv vs cold, weight 1.0 and either hand. But unfortunately, no use is known for it other than it being a really nice item for buying/selling and such. I have to agree though, all of these steins are likely unconnected, Verant probably just had some German guy coming up with new items for Velious ;)

well if you looted from an npc someone gave it to that Npc =) it is not for anything except for impressing your friends saying "yeah i bought this from a souvenier shop in thurg"

all because you only have 4 slots doesnt mean thats all you need for the quest ... it may be that part of the quest (if it is indeed a quest) is a container to combine the mugs in, to yield say "a complete set of mugs" or something of the like. has anyone tried taking the mugs to the bar in SS ? ... seeing as how it is aparantly useless atm ... they wont talk.. they dont sell .. etc.

Just a thought on this guys....The mugs may just be a McGuffin. Like the briefcase in Pulp Fiction, you never know what's in it but everyone seems to want it. Kinda like everyone here wants to know about these mugs. Just look at how long this thread has been running and its all speculation. How clever is this....all the different items in the game and everyone's stymied over drinking glasses...LOL...

It is a frostone stein and is lore no drop which leads me to believe it is part of SOME quest, if not this one. Its also a fair handheld item.

I got an Icy Mug Souvenir stein last night by killing Erdarf Reskin (NPC in the Icy Mug bar).
He had 100K HP, so it was a long fight heh. But if you see anyone wielding a mug in the Velium Keg, they should drop it. I'll have to go and check.

Not everything in this game is a quest for some uber loot! It is just something fun to do, collect a set of souveneir mugs. Like this quest somewhere(forgot). Where this lady says she will mary this guy for a Burnyai brunt cake. And the guy says he will reawrd you for one....THERE IS NO CAKE! She sent him on a fool mission..So Laugh! be Merry! and drink from your fun mugs!
You know I am relatively positive I have seen a Burynai bunt cake on a vendor some where in FV. Could be mistaken tho.

The mugs might be used in the next part of the progresive shoulder item quest. When you finish the "Feeding the Coldain" he says that something might be [brewing] and the mugs might be part of the making of the nessary drinks.

Yes, when he says 'brewing', he is refering to something is brewing in Kael Drakkel. Which is the Saving Takin quest.

I would be willing to bet you only get 4 and you use them to get the 5th mug (which may be the final item or may be the step to the next item)
You only have 4 slots to an NPC... probably use those 4 to get somewhere else in the quest.

Well, the four slot logic doesnt hold water.
It is possible that when you are given the quest, you would be given a container to put the mugs in, which would only require 1 slot to turn in...

I am willing to bet you are correct, as the brewing barrel and all supplies are sold only in the Velium Keg. There is one NPC who tells you to hang onto your mug as 'it will be worth a lot of coin one day' (direct quote). So it may be that the mugs will not always be available...

If there is more than one barkeep in the pub the correct person will tell you about the mugs.
I got 3 for 1pp each and 1 for 5 gold.
The only one I'm missing is the mug from the Velium Keg, where I can't find a barkeep.
It does look to me like there are 5 since the other ones all say "every bar" has their own version.
If someone has managed to get the mug for the Velium Keg, I'd appreciate hearing from whom.

You may want to check the mugs you got already. I got 4 but one of them is a duplicate. The one you pay 5gold for is the same mug you get at the first pub in the city for 1pp. I am also having problems getting the mug at the Velium Keg.
Just on a side note...if you visit the dwarven outpost in Crystal Caverns, there is a dwarf there that is wondering what happened to his dwarven brethern that left the caves long ago. I just wonder if the souvenir mugs have anything to do with that. I tried just giving him one mug but didnt get a reply.
Another side note...if you notice the dwarves in Crystal Caverns, they share last names with the dwarves of Thurgadin...which makes sense. I have tried asking dwarves about lost family members but havent gotten anywhere. If anyone knows of any quests in Crystal Caverns please let me know.
