Ulan Meadowgreen is located (119, -2192) in the centaur encampment in South Karana.
You say, 'Hail, Ulan Meadowgreen' Ulan Meadowgreen says 'Greetings. I am Ulan Meadowgreen of the family Meadowgreen. My brother and I are the best armorers in all of Norrath. We craft [armor] for the bravest warriors in the land. If you are a warrior of renown, and are interested in our armor, I have some mighty [labors] you might wish to attempt for me.' You say, 'What labors?' Ulan Meadowgreen says 'Only those who can prove themselves mighty warriors deserve to wear our crafted armor. While my brother prefers trophies, I seek instead tasks which will help my craft and my people.' You say, 'What armor?' Ulan Meadowgreen says 'I smith [bracers], [greaves], [pauldrons] and [breastplates]. My brother Shakrn smiths helms, gauntlets, boots and vambraces.' You say, 'What greaves?' Ulan Meadowgreen says 'Years ago, a necromancer most foul terrorized the people of the Karanas. This wretch stole a [circlet] father was smithing for my sister. It was very easy to recognize - shining silver like the light of dawn breaking. I have heard rumors that this necromancer has settled in the depths of Najena. Return this circlet to me and gift me with two [star rubies], and I will reward you with crafted greaves.' You say, 'What circlet?' Ulan Meadowgreen says 'The circlet my father forged was of the finest silver, ready to be enchanted by our more magical cousins. It is a shame we never had the chance to finish the work.' Star Rubies may be purchased from several merchants. The Dark Circlet drops from Trazdon who may be found near the Bonecracker room in Najena. Upon handing in two star rubies and the Dark Circlet: Ulan Meadowgreen says 'Wait, ______, are you not forgetting something?' Ulan Meadowgreen says 'Wait, ______, are you not forgetting something?' Ulan Meadowgreen says 'Is this.. it is! I did not recognize it at first, but this is indeed the circlet my father once crafted. It seems to have been enchanted since. hi the guy drops it in najena the dark circ i believe his name is krazdon or crasjon soemthing like that he is above lvl 24 and nec spawns im the room where stairs go around a room with lava in the middle the secound mage is his place holder i soloed him as a 36 druid didnt even root stood there and blasted the guy u give this and 2 star rubies too is the cent merchant not the other guy i sell them for 225pp quick easy money and exp

well umm i gave the dark circlet and two star rubies to the stupid horse man and he gave me nada, wtf? god that pisses me off so badly, wasting all that time and money for nothing...

I attempted to do this quest today and had the same problem. I hailed Ulan and asked him about the quest eventually getting to the point of "What of greaves." He told me to bring him 2 star rubies and 1 dark circlet. I gave Ulan the following items in different slots in the "give" window: 1 star ruby, 1 star ruby, 1 dark circlet. When I clicked "trade" he just stood there looking at me. I petitioned it but of course customer service won't respond.

Heh, this happened to me as well, make you that you are trading with Ulan, and not the Centuar Foul that stands directly next to him; in fact, they are so close their trade radius's overlap....very frustating...

Their are possibly two different reasons for this occurring... 1. you gave the items to Shak, and not Ulan. That will result in getting only a snide comment from him and no item. Or... 2. You gave the star rubies stacked... for some reason, most of the quests requiring items in multiples require them to be given singly in their own box in the trade window. So, if you gave the gems stacked, you also get nothing ,since the horses AI sees only one slot used and thinks you shorted him by one Star ruby... bummer that EQ does not warn peeps about this flaw, but live and learn.

i know why you didn't get the greaves. You turned in the dark circlet from the dbs's in unrest right? read about a quest b4 doing it, it tells you which one to get

You gotta make sure you get the circlet from Trazdon in Najena. As far as I've experienced, he drops it EVERY TIME. I quested specifically for greaves and sell them. I sit in his room and banged him 8 times. Each time, he would drop it. The dark circlet looks like a bandit sash, but it's black.
Most likely, you gave the items to Shak and not Ulan. I did this once. Just verify all your notes before handling in the goods. It'll decrease your mishap. It's easy to get excited to turn it all in, but finish the last step carefully. You won't be disappointed.

He doesnt drop it every time unfortunately... (4hours camped mostly because he hardly spawned)

One thing he has a place holder and after it is killed he spawns in less than 5 mins. It is the magician in his room so kill it and the circlet drops very unoften.
