I was soloing these with no problem with my druid after 44. Yes, you can not root or snare, don't waste the mana. You'll need your best wolf form because your going to be running the whole time. and two good DoTs, and root for the pesky turtles that might aggro. And Gate if you pull too many. I was only self buffed. Haven't tryed lightning spells for quading, but the cast time might be too long. Once you get good, you won't even need any skin spells cause they rarely will even get a hit. Move slowly up to the rivers edge and hope only one aggroes. This isn't too hard if you find a good spot. Just DoT, run till you get a good lead, Stack a second DoT and run again. recast as needed. I just ran a big loop, back and forth. I had stacks of the meat in the bank and plant shoots too.

These whenches are bad news for druids in this otherwise druid friendly hunting ground. They do not snare or root (immune to changes in movement!?! Ack! - the druid's prime battle leveler). They aggro like crazy if you get anywhere near them and they seem to help eachother. I wandered too close to the river while kiting some poachers and Bam! next thing I know I'm running for my life from about 6 of these #%$#'s.
Sticky skin or not, I try to steer clear of them. Would love group with some tanks to whack them around a bit (buff you with thorns and see how they like getting their sticky skin all stuck by them, hehe)
It's a little known fact that river nymphs have very sticky skin which they use to latch on to unsuspecting swimmers and drag them to the depths.
On a side note: I have my sound turned off, but my monk friend noted that they don't squeal when you slap them around. We slapped them harder as punishment for not squealing.
Potameids as far as I know doesn't have any faction, and they are KoS to everyone so no quests, There is the Queen potameid, named Neira or something like that, and the improper censors are keeping her top on.
