I am a 65 necro trying to solo shard, alone in the zone. A 65 warrior went running to shards camp and came running back out a moment later, saying train. There was just one of these mobs in the train, so I decided to kill it, as I believed it to be one that dropped shards. I thought it must have massive regen, as its health was dropping so slow, so I disease dotted it to try to slow regen. It STILL seemed to have a lot of HP. Finally killed the thing, but not sure whether it has high regen or very high HP. No trouble darking, dotting, and letting rogue pet beat on it. For good measure, I through in a wake-the-dead myself :-) and lifeburn, but they didn't add much it seems. Just paced aggro kiting will wear him down. Makes me wanna go get one with invulnerability on if the shards frequence is higher
They have insanely high hitpoints, I would guess around 100,000 since it took about 1000 damage to drop it from 100% health to 99% health. A 700+ bowshot does not do even 1% damage, therefore the quesstimate. Info valid as of 2005-04-06 Stromm server.
Yes, these can be rooted, so I supposed they can be snared as well. I don't recall if they summoned.
These mobs are not hard whatsoever. They just have a stupidly high amount of hitpoints. Just makes the doldrum of shard camping here seem even more painful.

to give a general idea of how many hp these guys have.
I nuke with sun vortex, and it takes off around 1700 with my dd bracer just about every time.
75% of the time, that would remove 2% from the guys HP bar, and 25% of the time it would remove 1% from his hp bar. So this guy has upwards of 1700 x 60 or so hp (102,000) so i'd say its a good 100k+ hp mob.
I've been camping the Akheva shard (Dat) and I must say this dude has got a lot of HP but drops the shard more than other two stingy golem counterparts.
When I was camping the Akheva shard at first, I chose not to pull these mobs because they came with MASSIVE hitpoints, and the fight was always a long fight. Thinking it is more advantageous to kill more mobs than to kill a few high level mobs, I opted to go without pulling this.
After three hours of camping, my farming team hadn't got a shard. So we changed the pulling philosophy - go for the big one.
And WHAM! There it was. 6 shards in an hour. Can't say that's the best drop ratio in EQ, but that's hell lot better than 0 in 3 hours, right?
I am a pretty good FD puller which a 61 SK should be, but... I went to pull this guys baby brother and waited for the pthers to reset and I jumped up and ran back to our camp (which was my 61 Sk, 55 shammie, 59 Rogue and my cousin a 53 pali). Well I get back to camp and OOOO $%!! I say. There are more mobs than you could shake a stick at and apparently they all hadn't reset in the tunnel where you can't see them. I run away from the camp so the others dont get the argo and after 2 attempts manage to FD. My intoxicated cousin (intox RL and in game) comes running out for what ever reason and gets waxed. I clear the agro and we aband the camp and drag his stinky bloated 53 **** back to the zone in. This guy is still styanding there. My Sk, shammie and wifes rogue took this guy out. This guy never resisted any spells. I did have to reslow him I think 2 tikes as it was an extended fight and it wore off. So after all this what he drop you ask...NOTHING you loose! Good day sir.
