Hi,
It appears that there are only 3 of these or the wolfings out at time, once you track down and kill all 3, you have to wait like 5 minutes or so before they start respawning. So for those doing the vah shir sonic wolf bane quest, be prepared to have your patience tested as my Ranger doesn't ever show more than 3 of these up at any given time. 12 spawns an hour is a bit ridiculous.

My 39 Bard has found one pup over the past couple of evenings and there was no jawbone. /sigh

I need to get powdered claws and sonic wolf blood. These are the only creatures i've seen drop blood. I didn't know i needed it so i threw it away. do the sonic wolf pups only pop when wolves rule all over the moor?

Alrighty, I understand a few of the posts about the pups being very hard hitting (it's the mother's milk...makes' em strong I guess). All I have to offer here is...Get LOTS of very good buffs in PoK or from a friendly druid or cleric before you go out here, because everything here is social! You will get trained if you're not very careful (especially if you have a "go-get-em" warder who loves to die a lot). Buffs like temperance, shield of thorns, chloroplast, strength spells, SoW (just in case you have to run). No worries mate, take on 2 yellow and a white at the same time and watch 'em drop. Just make sure you hit each mob at least one time with your weapon/kick to get experience from all. If you kill a lot, you can loot a lot. Makes these quests go by a little faster. Hope this helps.

Hi all I'm looking for the sonic wolf tongues. Have been for 2 RL weeks and I've only found 1 in over 80hrs of waiting. Its listed as a common drop....yeah right, and is supposed to drop off of wandering sonic wolf mobs...any that wander. Has anyone else had this problem? any suggestions on how to get these, I need 6 for the quest (journeyman Taruun, Vah Shir/Rogue only I think)

Ok i usually dont post cause most of you are way ahead of me here but just relooked at the quest and they drop off the wolfling also hope this helps someone helped me alot.. think they drop more often too...

i have my khati sha apprentice cloak and am after sonic molars of the pups but they are hard to find and they seem to rotate on the "who owns what camp at what time basis" if the camps to the north are occupied by sonics youll see heaps of pups if they are occupied by owlbears you wont see any pups hard and frustraiting cause it means you have to help kill the owlbears in 2 camps just to get a crack at killing 3 maybe 4 pups for a chance to get hopefully one molar if not next try

I have a 23 Bst, I was getting hit by green Owlbear Cubs for 110 per combat round. By Patroling Owlbears that conned light blue/blue i was getting hit for 56 per strike x4 per combat round. And a Fleshrender or whatever it was killed my 620hps so fast i hardly knew whatwas happening. It was yellow. I'm also now on the molar part of my epic...Its beginning to look like i will have to wait until level 30 to get past this section.
Makes you wonder at the mentallity of EQs Dev team to create quests which are not only boring, but frustrating and give almost no experience past claiming the original silks off the xakra worms!
The mobs are much harder then the level they claim to be. There is little point in fighting something which can take 400hps off you and get no xp for it.
Still, you wil undoubtably find me wondering about...

I was at my firneds house watching him play EQ. He uses one of those cheat tools that show you everything on everquest. By what it says, the wolf pups vary from 15-18 from the range i've seen.

Levels are way wrong. My lvl 22 beastlord was killed twice by 2 pups. these guys hit very fast and very hard.

those pups are stronger than they look at lvl 12 a pup conned blue to me and was hitting me for 42's and i went to shadeweavers and a claw beast conned yellow to me at lvl 12 but only hit me for 28 max i think they have to chnage this.....

Look on the far side of the small fort which is on your left as you zone in from Shar Vahl. Depending on which group has control of the caves, you will find Grimlings, Owlbears, or Sonic Wolves. When the wolves are up, you can try a Sonic Pup fairly close to the fort--but not too close or Sarge will pop through the wall of the fort and KS your puppy.
Unless you are high level, don't camp near guards. When you log back in, the Grimlings may have taken over and you'll get whacked. Corpse retrival may have to wait until the Grims are kicked out again. Couldn't see for myself, but am told same applies for inside fort.

Pups are about 12-15 in level as they are green to blue to my 19th lvl bard
