After the big patch in July this is now a Piercer

I got this item, and equiped it without really looking at it, its a 1h slash weapon that a beastlord can use? Beastlords don't have that skill so after a while i noticed that i wasn't going up in skill, and my atk stunk. Is this a glitch?

The blood drenched hopling is a rare spawn that can be found in the newbie area among the needle clawed hoppers and xakra silkworms. It is easy to spot with its bright red coloring. It drops a Serrated Needle Claw, a very nice weapon for an untwinked newbie.
