There are some contradictions here. This is a Luclin zone. The Bloodlings spawn one part of the day and the worms in the other part. In this zone one cannot tell time. And I cannot tell darkness from lightness there. So just kill them when they are there and do not be disturbed if spawns stop. Just wait it out. But note that the worms and the Bloodlings are both found up at the same time. The odd ones do not despawn.
The Cht'thk bloodling's seem to spawn when it starts getting dark. I stayed busy mass killing everything in the area for a while durring the day light and had zero Bloodlings spawn until it started getting dark (not sure on time, as you don't have that on Luclin). Once it got dark, I had a ton of bloodlings spawn. The carpace was still rare, but at least for my next smithing character, I am not gonna waste time running around doing this quest till it's dark.
Povar. 15 kills and only 1 carapice. Not exactly the most common of mobs in the area which means a lot of downtime waiting for respawn and a lot of running around trying to find them.
This quest is going to get on my nerves but unfortunately, it's essential if you want to train up on smithing.
ok heres the deal, the broodlings spawn in the newbie area, but sometimes you might see them further back in the lvl 20 area,
the mandibles, are black pincer looking things, and are extreemly rare, it took me a whole day to collect 4 of them, but i dont know about other servers, but of te one i play in (finora vie) challice(the blackpanther looking merchant, near the south gate ridge) sells them for about 1pp each, wich is worth it if you really need some gloves (wic is what you get for doing the quest)
and the carapauses, i dont know why but they are very easy for me to find (i must be lucky) i ususally find one every 10-20 kills.. (wich isnt much considering i kill them in 1-2 blows) i get so much carapauses taht i just dump them...
if you need some and you play in finora vie, then come talk to me(char name = catapult, im a black pantherlooking vah shir with no spots), i should be able to get you some
ps, i am also preaty good at tailoring, if you need armor, come talk to me (of course it will cost you a little. but not much, and if you get me the leather/skin, then i will charge you less for it)
Hunted the Bloodlings for Carapices today and found that they dropped about one every 10 kills or so. No probs for me. Hunted near the entrance to Shar Vahl. VERY easy kills too. I'm a little puzzled about the posts saying that it took hours or 50 kills. Definitely not what I experienced today.
I don't know whether you were unlucky or I was lucky (or maybe Verant tweaked the drop rate) but I picked up 2 Mandibles in 2 hours on the E'ci server today.
I agree i can barely find one mandible every 20-50 bloodlings! Plus, their highest level so far that I've found is 3. They conned white to my level 3 Vah Shir BL.
I haven't seen the Cht'Thk Bloodbulks either but if you talk to the gholum armor guy and say "what tunic" he says to bring 4 bloodbulk carapace. Anyone know where they spawn or where they wander?
I am now lvl 10 trying to start my HP armor quest series. These things are so green that I havent seen a drop in at least 80 kills, and I've NEVER seen a sharp bloodling mandible drop ever. Any ideas?
They are all uncommon/rare drops. I must have killed a hundred of the little bloodlings before I collected four of the carapaces and two mandibles. I turned in the carapaces in without asking the tailor specifically about them, and he took them without giving anything back. ARRGGH! Then I found out he wants bloodbulk carapaces.
Maybe you could find a newbie who will agree to trade four carapaces or mandibles for four Loda Kai or other quest items that are inaccessible to him/her. At least that way you get experience for hunting while you wait, and each of you would get a quest armor piece. If it's worth it to you, check the merchants too.
They're actually "Bloodlings", not "Broodlings". They drop Sharp Bloodling Mandibles and Bloodling Carapaces, both used for quests. The items and quests are on Allakhazam.
