Where is the info on the spells that it casts?? These zones have been out for years, alot of them not updated. Why dont you folks do the job we are paying you for??
a the sun reverants in the grey have skeletons models. THey spawn around the only water hole in the zone. Around once every clearing lake clearing they drop a tooth for shaman 1.5/ which is around 20 minutes.
As a 61 BST, I would have had no problem takeing these out, they con LB to me, but I had a friend 57 ROG and a 50'ish BRD friend of hers stoped by as well, good XP for them, ok AA for me. Sole purpose was shard hunting, took about an hour and small change for 1st one to drop, then 2 more droped in the next 15 min for the others. Picked up a Smitter's Girdle and a Sun Chalis for loot, should make make for ok tribute points when I turn them in to tribute master. We cleard the ruins at the top of the mesa in no time, pulled 2 and 3 at a time. Next one I go for will be in The Grey. Having a real hard time with getting shard in Sanctus Seru, with help I have cleard the 2nd floor several times already, and still no shard. Needless to say, I'm KOS there no question. I've been told just recently that I have a better chance of getting same shard in Katta Castellum off the Centurions, we'll see. If it dosen't take long, mabey I won't ruin my faction to bad there, after all, I have dispatched many, many SS Hands, and Legonares, they act as if I was their best friend over there in Katta. I'll jump on that after the Grey.

I went here today farming shards for my VT key. Took me three full repops to finally get the shard (I've heard from friends it rarely takes that long). No trouble whatsoever soloing the camp as a 65 druid, definately one of the easier ones. Best bet is to stick to the plateau, mobs around and below it tend to warp out of the way.
Was killing Sun Revs atop the plateau...when during downtime for spawns....I saw Warlock on track. Wasn't in the ruins..but down below along eastern wall. In a static location I would assume. Had popped while I was up top b'cuz wasn't on track 'til I saw him there. N E Who....Snared Dotted Rooted...Dead...dropped Desecrator's Bracer
This creature also drops Nardoo. A leaf used in Advanced Poison Making. I've submitted the info.
mental burn Combine in a mortal and pistil a Vial, celestial Suspension, Amber Resin, and Nardoo. Effect: Lesser Destroy Poison. Cast time 2.0. 150 Point mana burn.
I am a 52 necro and my son is a 65 rogue. We went to get him a shard today at the ruins on top of the messa, he pulled one and I snared and feared. We got a shard on the first mob.. pulled one more to let me tap my health back.. had been liching... and did not get one on second pull.
these are *not* common... a friend and I killed these for several hours, on the platform, and on the ground... we killed over a 100+ rev's before we saw one drop.... VT key quest sucks ;p
oh, and these sun rev's can't be assassinated, which means they must be 49+... cons green to a 65 tho... my 2 cp
You may just have been unlucky, or maybe they increased the drop rates since your post: I spent about three hours killing these guys a few months back and had three or four of the shards drop.
Very easy for necros 52+ to clear out the high plateau of revenants and reavers, first be ready for alot of resists, second pull with shackle of spirit run back to pet fd then dark then fear keep them both stuck and ur set with an occassional decent drop from a named happy hunting
There are two varieties of Sun Revenants. The first variety is found around the ruined camps scattered around the zone. They tend to be levels 39 to 42 (and hit for around 100). The second variety is on the plateau, and tends to be levels 42 to 45 (and hit for a little under 120).
They're quite fire resistant, so stick with Ice, Magic, or Undead nukes.
And yes, a Mage can solo the plateau at 49. I've seen it done.
I tested my hand against a Sun Revenant which was in a camp just north of the zone to Twilight Sea. After reading other reports on this page, I'm wondering if their levels may vary a bit. Anyhow, here's the facts from my first encounter with a Sun Revenant:
He is undead - Instrument of Nife went off a few times during the fight
He was dark blue and scowling to my 51 paladin before taking any faction hits
His hardest hit was 93, but he didn't reach it often
His slaying worsened my faction with Minions of the Sunlord
He did not cast, but did have a diseased-based battle proc called Sun Revenant's Curse
His proc was resisted quite often with my disease resist in the 30s; using the buff Resist Disease helped even more
Here are the details of the battle proc, Sun Revenant's Curse:
Description: 1: Moderate to Resist (3) 2: DoT for 264 Hit Points (HP) in 11 ticks 3: Decrease Current Hitpoints by 40 (L1)
Details: Casting Time: 3.00 seconds Recast Time: 0 seconds Skill: Instantaneous Allowed Targets: All Duration: 11 ticks (1.1 minutes) Resist: Disease +15 Range to target: 200
Killed one that wandered. I nuked for 596, 51 (must be fire resistant), 706, 175, plus Earth pet tanking before he finally dropped. Got half an AA blue at 52, if that helps with the levels.
I killed a few of these last night. They were casters which tried to dot me and blasted me a few times. THe DD's spells they have hit me for minimal dmg and none of the Dot's landed. I'm a 51 druid. They went down rather easy with a couple of dots and 2 DD's. They dropped 5pp or less for me. On a side note, they do look rather cool.
After hunting these for most of 56 and 57 I can say that revenants (at least the ones on the platform) are not casters. They do proc a "curse" which has a dot. The casters are the reavers who dispell, fear, scourge and have a poison nuke. At 58 I resist most except the curse proc. As to level, at 58 all the ones on the platform are dark blue, the ones on the zone floor are usually green.
