a giant bat  

At level 5, I don't like to get off the path, esp. with skellys spawing after dark now; I have run the length of the zone on the path and from Dagnor's cauldron the Kaladim, and never seen a giant bat. I am a dwarf berserker. Are they random spawn, or is there a particular location I can find them? I really want to complete my newby armour quests. Thanks.

I fight these things in Butcherblock with a level 12 ranger and they con at blue or light blue most of the time. Plus they drop giant bat wings and giant bat fur.

The giant bats in Butcherblock at least (and I assume the rest though I have not confirmed this) no longer drop bat wings, but *giant* bat wings. These are stackable non-lore non-magic items. They sell better than the standard to merchants, are NOT useful for levitate spells, but are sellable to intelligence based casters doing practice research when they are in their mid to high 30s.

hi everybody. for my druid i killed these and they gave me great exp and i got good loot cause most of the time they will drop bat wings and you can sell those to higher lvls per stack for bou 2pp so they can use levitate. you can use this strategy to kill them just get under neath the belly and make it so that when you look up at a certain angle so you see the belly and none of the head this made it so they could only hit me for about 3-5 pionts of dmg while i would be hitting them for max practicly all the time. you can also use this strategy for any of the bats(there are higher lvl bats than these forget thier name been awhile that reguraly hit for 20 and you can just make it so they hit for 2-5!!) i did this all the way to lvl 7 or 8 i still got good EXP then. This is off the subject but after that i killed piranhaas in Rivervale just by that guy that you give piranhaa teeth to its easy just jump in and kill them they are easy to kill even if they group up and then you just hand in the teeth they drop to the guy(forgot his name he walks around on those docks and in biuding, you can talk to someone in the cleric giuld and they will tell you who it is)for the quest you get gold and items that sell for about for 2-5 gold so goodmoney great exp
