These beasts can inflict your party with a nasty long term Disease DoT. If you get hit with it, check your Stamnina score and see how far it dropped. It can take several attempts to get rid of the disease with Cure Disease. When we hunt these beasts, my Shaman casts Endure Disease on the party.
So far this place has the best XP earning for my Shaman so far. It only took 15 minutes to earn 2 yellow bubbles to move my SHaman to lv17. I can't wait to go back there tonight.

No, it has nothing about invis yourself and run through PC to the nearest exit. Your gonna need 2-4 people who can invis and see invis, and maybe heal, a tank, and backup. It requires a full group, but it's great XP, and get maybe good loot. Invis the group and run past the Reishi-Burrower guards (SWT or HSM entrance) or Reconite camps (SH entrance). When you reach the net, make sure you have a code for when your invis starts to wear off (like "innn") so that the invisers can cast another. Kill them with the tank, and maybe backup. Go Patog by Patog until your health gets low, a train is following you, or some other misfortune happens, then go to the nearest exit (hopefully SH, you can get supplies there). Perhaps you could lvl from 17-22 in one hour if you go without any mishaps!

I was trying to get to Hollowshade for some good exp, when these Y&*(&&)&)*&&(*^*&)^(*)^&*^)*&)*^&*%^^&$%^$%#@#$!%@!%@#%^$*%&*)(&*^&%^&$%^$%^#$%@%@!!#@%$#&^%(^*&(*&*)^*^)^*%^%$#^$%#@#$#&^%&)( little freaks ganged up on me while I was running on the right side. I ran around for a while and got an interesting train: about 50 recondite bandits, 30 phlarg fiends, countless muck diggers and outcast Shik-Nar, and to top it off, a wetfang minnow from when I swam. And then my SoW wore off...(slight exaggeration)
I have a lvl 39 Drood, and only wish his creeping crud worked as well as these lowlever mobs does. I mean really, this is not real life, but a Damage over Time that never ends? Where can my Drood buy this updated spell?
Fonaddar Leafstalker Druid of 39 Seasons Wendsor Leafstalker Ranger of 21 Season (again thanks to these guys) Mekilunext Anmessily Paladin of 33 Seasons Dealinsom Monk of 12 Seasons Splatkat Beastlord of 12 Seasons
Was down there the other night at L14 grouped with an Iksar monk and we were just sitting in spawn spots killing spawns then resting up.
I have the crappy Ranger Minor Heal spell which heals 10pts each cast, but, as I had KEI, I just kept chain casting this on myself when not meleeing. Kept me alive throughout the DoT which lasted about 45 mins (another 2 levels later).

i have found the best way to get past these fiends is to stick to the right hand wall as high as you can go as you leave the Haven. The fiends won't bother you if your high enough out of the way. After you take the first right at the top of the hill all you really have to worry about is the three before the next cavern. I just rooted them and ran for the thicket zone line. it also helps if you have a working knowledge of the area and a good map. I was able to get my 22 ranger to the thicket with out getting crudded at all. Of course a good sow helps too.
Needed to take my 14th lvl 1/2 ling druid through here. These things scared the crap out of me as there was always at least 3 of them around, and they were all red or yellow to me. got through by sticking to the walls and sneaking with a SoW on. (Fortunatly they don't seem to be very observant as a number of times I was REALLY close to them and they didn't see me.)Guess I will just have to stay on the moon till I'm big enough to get through there again.

I just walked right passed every one of them. unfortunatly it took like a half hour to get all the way through the zone, but I love the fact that rogues can hide and sneak at the same time 8)
I thought, is as pie to run through there with my 17th level monk, since it's listed as 5-25 for level on eqatlas.com. Wrong! They have those freaking Phlargs setup like a security net. If you sneak behind one, there's another one facing him that will see you. I got to about the middle of the zone and got ambushed because of that. Contracted the Creeping Cruds ( my poor Crystal Covered Shroud...it took hours to wash it out.... ) and watched over 200hp tick away before some kind soul came cured me. I though, heck, I'm almost out of here, I'll keep going....
Anywhoo, to make a long story short ( She saved my butt several times, waited for my multiple computer freeze ups and escorted me through Hollowshade Moor - Thanks Sazuko (spelling?) on The Seventh Hammer! )
Next time, I'll wait for an Invis....or try and find some potions.
Hehe, I went back with Beastmaster. We killed them like crazy. This zone is great exp.! I went from 17th level to 22rd level in a week of part time play (I spent more time training up my Instill Doubt, Fiegn Death, Safe Fall, Sneak and Mend, then I did fighting).
Just make sure you have, or someone in your party has, Cure Disease. You'll be all set.

I am a 20th level bard and these creatures rock on EXP. I am glad though I have inv song because sometimes there creatures can gang up on you and make your life short!!! Anywho Have fun killing I think I wass be 21 21 23 in a short time since the still con to me blue and risky
I was a lvl 16 Ogre shadow knight and my wife a 17 Dark elf cleric.we spent a litle over an hour working our way up and down the ledge wasting these critters . except for the odd traveling one they are spaced far enuff apart to take on 1 at a time. well in that hour we both dinged 8).both of us getting between 4-5 yellow bubs. The loot wasnt very good most items when sold at a vendor went on average 1 gp.but all in all was great time . nice change of pace from undead reavers in EK.
i was pretty well constantly cruded but a team with a healer has no worry. the dot may last long but it is also slow damage
This class is unbalanced the thing is I have a Wizard 25 was travelling through, invis fell one of the thingies attacked me and I killed it easily but caught the Crud. I have around 100 in bandage skill used up around 40 bandages and couldn't find anyone to heal me and eventually I got tired of waiting for it to wear off and let it kill me !!!
Caught the CRUD for the first time last night. Entered this level for the first time as a level 23 rog halfling and had killed a dozen of these without being infected. I thought I was immune ( HA ) thought wrong. The CRUD kept me from healing because it caused damage at the same rate as my natural healing rate. So I sit and hide. CRUD took near a half hour to wait out. Not pleseant at all. The only way to ditch the CRUD was 3 cure diseases by my Beastie friend.

Yes, but my dead beat brother the cleric is not with me some of the time. I keep hoping i will find a potion or an NPC near by that can cure that. What do the bandits(forgot what there called) have to say in this zone?
My shaman made some potions for my warrior when she was of a level to be solo'ing these evil beasties. At level 24, shaman get Counteract Disease, the upgrade to Cure Disease. It only takes one cast of Counteract to cure the crud... and it only takes one shot of a potion to cure it as well. I don't know if it was because my shaman was 40 when she made the potions or if even a potion made at 26 would be the same as counteract also. But it makes sense that it would. Even though the potion can't be trivialed until shaman level 36 and would therefore get a Lot of failures trying it so early. =)

are these guys on any faction? Reason I was asking is that I am a low level bard and I want to get my new songs, which means I have to get past them. I just got invis, but I was wondering if I could just faction song them and breeze on past.
I tried to run to Shadowweaver's Thicket the other day, not bothering any one, just running thru. These things conned light blue to me and I didn't worry about them. HAH! Didn't know the area so I tried to stick to the right ledge - these things were every 50 feet or so, each in his own niche with some wandering. One or two I could handle but each time one aggro'd on me, 4 or 5 would come and, running back to the zone, every one i passed earlier would aggro too. Died twice and gave up trying for Kitty City.....For the time being, anyway.
at lvl 28 the didn't aggro on me even though they conned ready to attack. unfourtunately it's the only way to shar vahl. you might just have to wait till you are higher lvl
Oh yes...that was with a Lvl 24 Barb Shammie. Don't know what was on the left ledge. Could be a safer way but these things were definately guarding the right ledge. If anyone knows a safer way to Kitty City, please leave a note.
These creepy little buggers so far have all conned blue or light blue to my 22 paladin partner and myself. She has had to cast Cure Disease up to three times when we get the Crud, though. That is the hardest thing about them because we have good swords and decent armor. Neither of us has suffered even a whole bulb of health loss taking them down. So far, that is...

Actually, I have found there are two versions of this critter, the L15 one you spoke of is the "Plerg" one which is actually the 'little brother' to this guy. Both have the crud ability, and the only other real difference is the litle brother is not so reactive to your presence, his agro range seems quite small. Not so with big brother here.
These ugly *Bleep*'s have one long **** DOT as a 16 enchanter i was fighting one (i know i know chanters suck at soloing) but any way i got Dotted after it stopped liking me nuking it it hit me 3 times and put the dot on me and after a long time it killed me =( oh yeah Rune 1 doesnt work to take damage and nobody healed me =(
