You say, 'Hail, Lorekeeper Ralf'
Lorekeeper Ralf starts at the sound of your voice, 'Oh, thank Rodcet! I thought you were a gnoll sneaking up on me. Maybe I should just leave, I don't know. My master will be very angry with me if I don't return with his [tome]. But he won't even get the chance to chastise me if I die in this miserable place. Would it be unfair to deprive him of that? I just don't know. I'm too frightened to think. Maybe it is best if you [leave] me here to suffer alone.'
You say, 'tome'
Lorekeeper Ralf says, 'He sent me to purchase a rare old book from the barbarians. I couldn't read it; I don't understand the language. I guess I'll never get the chance now, since one of those savages [tore it up]. I mean, it wouldn't have been able to do that if I hadn't dropped it when I ran away, but I couldn't help it.'
You say, 'tore it up'
Lorekeeper Ralf says, 'It was already old, and the binding was very loose, but the monster picked it up and pulled it apart! The pages scattered all over the place! A lot of it floated down into that massive hole. I'll never get it back! I'd be happy to get even a [part] of it to return to my master.'
You say, 'part'
Lorekeeper Ralf says, 'I'd pay you what I can for any page of that old book you can find for me. I guess I can hide here for a while. I'm in no real hurry to get shouted at anyway.'
