During cycles yesterday i was up in NW corner, and meet this mob that makes Bloodscale look like a wimp. A Sarnak Seer. He malisemented, dotted, nuked and rooted me. This in a place where there is more mobs pr square meter then anywhere in zone... I was still rooted when his broke, and for the luck of it, he brought friends... The a Sarnak Seer, a Burynai miner, a gorging brute and a mountain brae used me as a punching bag. Tried to gate out, but of course it got interrupted and I died... Looted my corpse and wanted payback. I ran back up to him and the same thing happened, only this time i managed to get out. Last try.... Loaded my nukes and root/snared him before I started nuke him. Found out he can heal himself as well... This time I wun!! No lots, but a piece of Words of some sort... Well, Im back to doing the cycles, maybe I ll see him again..

During cycles I have killed him a lot of times. Only once has he dropped a sapphire instead of the little gp I normally get from him. His lvl varies. At lvl 45 (DRU) hes been both db and yellow to me. Easy to take out with root, snare, DoT and nuke....
He has about 4.5khp and the veil didn't drop the time I killed him. He carried a sad amount of cash: 7 gold, 6 silver and 5 copper.
Didn't resist a single spell; only used magic based twice and ice based spells five times.

If you want loot dont ***** with this guy. Just get the burnynai grand cenobite to spawn and get his belt. Its a common drop of a rare npc, and worth about 4k
I was trying to make Varithyx spawn in hopes of gettin the no drop sleeves, so I go to check the NW corner and this guy comes up on track rather close to the OT zone. I figured since most of the stuff in the zone was blue to me at the time and this guy wasn't casting, I could just charm kite him and see what he dropped. I was able to charm kite him... except it took over half an hour and he honestly went through at least 20 charmed giant pets, many of which were yellow to me. And then to top it all off, he dropped 4 silver =/ Moral of the story? This guy sucks, don't bother.

i agree, don't try when you are 35...i killed him at 39 and 40 by just running him around the zone using fifle's chant and the fire chant....he is a pain in the ***...killed him 4 times and he has yet to drop the vail...he still is nice exp...but took me about 25 minutes to do it...and the adds were a big pain in the ars

Bloodscale is the last spawn in the cycle. Got this veil tonight. He is not caster and slow. He is enemy to goblins so have him chase you, run around the gob. and pull him into them. Once he is down to about half, root him so he kills the goblin, and then kit him to death. He hits for 110dmg, avg 98dmg. So don't go head to head with this guy at 39. Also if you see him and kill him, shout it out. You have just ruined the cycle for someone and that someone will be looking for him or a PH there.

At lvl 38 this guy always conned red and yellow but as long as i panned my view out so i could see around me and made sure to re-apply snare every so often i could beat him 4 out 5 times. snare, dot, then try to root, if more then 3 resists on root go back to kiting. had to kill him maybe 15 times before he dropped the veil

yesterday (5/17) bloodscale spawned conned even to my 45 bard friend. he started kiting him got him to about half health before having to zone. he went back and finished teh deal. oh and gemeye spawned and started chasing around teh bard so i pulled him and layed waste to that disgrace of a burynai took me down half a bub of health at 34 he dropped teh gem finder 13 35 5sta str. the bard traded me the veil for the gemfinder =) thnks core!

I got the veil. Woot me. The difficulty/reward ratio in this place is really backwards. Some of the best stuff drops off really easy mobs. Then you get this PoS off a 40+ mob. /shrug.
I kited him with my bard last night, took quite a while and he dropped nothing. He spawns in the NW corner.

I was walkin thru FM minding my own business and this Bloodscale dude jumps me out of nowhere. I was like, fine , I got full mana im gonna burn him down...i got my snare off and proceeded to kick his scaled heiny. After about a minute of fighting [ he was roughly half health] HOMEBOY GATES!.. Yes he does. Imagine my colorful language at this point. Odd thing was i still had him on target but the resultant search [ an hour or more] turned up squat. Boo Everquest! I want my Bloodspattered Veil! I kicked his butt and I want mah phat loot!

Well heck... Maybe you should root him...
All root would do to a gating entity is cause it to appear at it's bind point, rooted. It wouldn't prevent gate from working.

Came out Droga the other evening and the Ranger I am with says "Hey, a rare up here." So we take of running and there he is. Last time I fought this fellow he con'd yellow to me at 38, so I figured we'd just fire away and see what happened. Oh I should have con'd. Ranger was 38 and I a 40 Shaman and it went poorly from the word go. He was all sorts of red. A lvl 44 Ranger happened to be close by and pulled Bloodscale away.. he ended up having to zone him to OT. I recovered my corpse (was granted a dirt nap by the big fella) and grouped the 44 with us and he proceeds to tell us Bloodscale is yellow to him. Took probably 15-20 minutes for the three of us to drag him down. I'm guessing his lvl range runs up to 45, given the yellow con to a 44. He repeatedly hit for 110+ and was quick to boot. Nasty pull unless you are prepped for him.
I killed bloodscale at lvl 45 using the tries and true kiting method of run nuke, med nuke some more dot run run med med etc. When all was said and done he dropped some words and a few gp. No veil there. I heard this guy also drops the totem of warrior spirit. Not sure if this is true though

this is one of the nastiest mobs i have ever fought, conned green to me so i thought id try to take him...NOT way underconned and has huge hp's.

I'm a druid and I took this guy on when I was lvl 49. He was easy to root, and I laid 8 drifting death spells on him. That's around 6,400 hitpoints of damage, and he was down to 2/5 health still! He is very, very nasty, and I would have been able to kill him had I not gotten three giants on me in the process :) He was hitting me for about 110 dmg a swing, myself having 700 ac at the time. I don't suggest trying to tank him unless you have a cleric and a pet class along. However, I think the best way to lay him out would be with stacked dots, a high level shaman, druid, or necro should have no problem in this area.

I fear kited him easily with my SK at lvl 53. I was lucky and was able to keep away from other mobs while kiting him tho.

Aye not to bad for a 49th wizard. Got experience for him also. Had over a bubble of mana left after he died. As was said before I got a word and a crappy amount of pp.
