Iksar Skull with an 'X' This is the wrost part of the entire quest to be honest. Once you get through this, the rest isnt too bad.
As of September 2022 on the Yelinak server, there are three spawn points for this guy:
1. Static mob on the 4th floor landing under the torch. Timer is 14.5 minutes
2. The pather mob that spawns near the top of the stairs going to 4th floor. Timer is 8.5 minutes (spawn point moves slightly but you should see him)
3. The pather mob on the 3rd floor that spawns on the marked point on Brewalls maps. (others mentioned the loc in previous comments).
About 4 hours of killing, I got all the skulls i needed.

Either I am incredibly unlucky or lucky. I have now had 5 kills and gotten 3 lore skulls and only 2 non-lore skulls.

Set up camp at loc -83, -215. The mob that wonders between the two skeletons at the doorway is the ph for the undead crusader.

This is roughly where I set up shop so far. Seen 3 pop up here and 1 elsewhere. Seems to have a couple of spawn points/PHs

I'd spent about 10 hours on the main stairs between 3rd and 4th levels, and thinking this guy doesn't exist. While I was camping him I was spending my time on the 4th floor for higher level mobs.
I was surprised when the undead crusader attacked me on the 3rd level. He was walking from the area with the square hole you drop down to the 2nd floor through, to between the two guards at the top of the 2nd to 3rd level stairs.
Somehow it felt like an accomplishment that I managed 1/6th of this quest after 10 hours. RAH!

This is nuts. Been at the loc mentioned earlier, -98, -223, 122. Been here for going on 8 hours and he's only spawned once. When the zone clears out, I've been clearing 2nd, 3rd, and 4th floor in hopes to help the spawn rate, but nothing seems to do much better. On the positive side, I got the lore skull. I hear it's the worst one. Good luck to those going to attempt this.

I'm at 20 hours now. Got my 2nd skull. Been running down to the basement between spawns and clearing the fingered/thick boned in hopes of a jester. Passing out fingers to monks as they come and go.

I'd gladly pay 5 pp or 100 pp for each of the skulls, but for some idiotic reason, the minimum listing for the Iksar skull with an X in the Saryrn bazaar is 4000 pp. Been camping this guy for as long as it would take you to get enough bone chips to go from scowling to the crusaders to apprehensive, and thats ALOT of bone chips. So far I've managed 2 skulls.

I've put in probably 30+ hours camping this guy. Given the wildly conflicting bits of information found here, I tried a combination of the most popular methods. I've seen him twice; both times he dropped the Lore skull. Both times, he popped at the top of the stairs from the fourth floor and pathed down them.
I'm just wondering if anyone has done this lately as the last post was about 6 months ago and I'm curious as to if his habits have changed.
Essentially, I'm clearing both the third and fourth floors entirely and waiting for the repop on the stairs between those two floors. I've done this approximately 50 times.
Has anyone seen his depop point? Any idea how long he roams before he poofs?

I've been camping this guy for probably 38+ hours over the past several days. In that time, I've never seen him pop at a place other than the stairs mentioned below. I've noticed that the spawn timer on that spawn point is 10 minutes, and he can spawn either at the top of the stairs OR just before the curve of the stairs going down. These two spots are not different spawns, just different spawn points for the same placeholder. Essentially, I sat right between the floors and he'd either walk to me, or spawn 5 feet in front of me.
In 38+ hours, I've seen him 15 times total. Always the non-lore skull dropped (but I have notoriously bad luck at camps). I would sometimes go 4 hours without him spawning once, and once he spawned twice in a row.
I wrote feedback about the poor design of the quest more than once. It's ridiculous to expect a teenage shaman to spend Raster-esque amounts of time camping for a 3rd rank progressive quest. If I hadn't already spent so much time (and if the final cudgel weren't so nice), I would have quit long ago.

I've spent over 25 hours camping this sob and have yet to get the lore skull. I camped it for 6 hours straight saturday night (6/21/03) and didn't even get him to pop. A cpl hours after I logged a guildmate (who is also working on the cudgel quests) killed him and got a lore skull, so I know it still drops. He was even camping the exact same spot that I was. Must be my bad karma, or poor programming.
I've gathered ALL of the items for the next 3 cudgels in half the time I've spent camping the UC. It's going to drive me to deletion.

Just an update that will probably add more confusion:
I finished collecting my skulls. Even though I bought most of them in the bazaar. I managed to see the Crusader 3 times. I must have cleared the entire 3rd and 4th floors completely 50 times. In all that time, I saw him spawn in one spot and that is the roamer spawn at the top of the stairs to the 4th floor in front of the two guards. There are 2 ways up to the 4th floor, I was at loc: -98, -223, 122. In the end, I gave up clearing the floors as my carpal tunnel was flaring and I was losing my drive. So, I just sat there, set an egg timer for 18 minutes and checked to see what I had killed after each spawn. Remember to stay seated. He won't aggro you if you're standing.
I suppose it's feasible that he spawns at an odd time and poofs quickly so while I was out clearing the floors, he would come and go. This seems far fetched, but the thought crossed my mind.
Regardless, I seem to run across other players who "destroy those things all the time." If you happen accross these skulls, please sell/give them to your friendly neighborhood Shaman.

I have to say this is the worst part of the entire cudgel quests so far. After clearing the entire 3 and fourth floors with on one pop in about 2 hours I set up camp on the stairs leading down to the 3rd floor just in the middle of the two floors. Every 10-12 min a roamer will pop here and almost every fourth pop was the crusader. It seams that the game does a check on what you have already because I received the final 3 non-lore skulls and then on the fourth pop it had the lore skull, not sure if this is true but seams that way. we easily dispatched him of his skull.

he pop in on the middle of the stairs. so if you sit on the stairs to where you can see the opening to both 3rd and 4th level of the tower he will pop in on top of you. i killed him np with my twinked lvl 17 necro. one time he droped a FS mace and then he drop a cloak forgot the name but it was for most all melee class's stat was like AC 5 maybe 3 str and sv magic.
i did not think to much of it as i'am a twink and real caster cant use it anyway. would be mice for newbe with no other item for his/her back. out of killing him 3 time he droped the cloak 2 time. i hope this info help you;o)

i have een camping the jester for like 2 weeks now and i see this guy on my track near evry day two times aday sometimes. he dosent seem to be a rare spawn. well maybe it has to do with my server... fennin ro... well if any one needs help finding him get a ranger like me hehe, because after finding him a few times i havenoticed that he can spawn in a few diffrent places makeing finding him kind of hard. well good luck to any one looking for him.

Cleared the fourth floor in tower then when and sat in the middle of the stairs to that level thinking to rest up before going to see if he popped in there. To my surprise he popped on top of me. Killed himand got skull x lore and fs morning star. From clearing the top room to spawn was approx 2mins.

I finally got to kill this guy the other night. First time in like 1 week of camping the 3rd and 4th lvls of Kurn's that I saw him. He dropped the Skull with an X *Lore Version* and a burnyai hide cloak.

Camped this guy this past weekend with and Iskar SK and boy was it fun. Cleared out every possible skellie and the damn thing wouldn't pop. My main question is, I am a Shaman, and I don't know what shaman quest the skulls with X are for, can you enlighten me? Anyway, I had to log for a few and my partner and I had just cleared entire floor. When I logged back on, my partner had slain the mob and given me the skull. It was not the LORE NO DROP, just the regular skull. I know that I need to collect these, but who do I turn them in to? Is the shaman quest for these simply Iskar? I am a Troll. Will the quest still work, or should I give the thing away? Any help would be appreciated.

ahh yes... the undead crusader, my arch enemy. i've camped this guy for so long. i've had groups up in kurns clearing out the top 2 floors. i've camped him alone, killing every skele ever thought to be his placeholder. in all my attempts, i have only seen this guy once, and that was on my first visit to kurn's - i guess my luch has run out sinse then. anyway, for all you wondering how crazy i have to be to waste so much time on this cursed crusader, i need six - count em - SIX skulls with x for my shaman quest. now, after that one i got when i killed the crusader myself, i have recieved 4 others from the very kind and generous people i have run into. i currently have a total of 5 skulls with x and only need one more! however, that final skull must be a LORE skull with x. at this point, i'm going to y'all for help. i can no longer stand to camp this beast. so if any of you on the tunare server run across a LORE skull with x, please, please give me a tell. i will be very grateful.

The Crusader has only 1 Placeholder that must be killed in order for him to spawn, and it is the skellie that doesnt move in the dining room, that is between the table and the broken chair, kinda in the middle back part of the room. If all you do is sit on the stairs just below the top floor(which is where he will ALWAYS appear), then you likely will never get him to pop. The best way to do this is.. Starting from the barracks lvl and up the stairs all the way to the dining room, kill everything, then go back down the spiral stairs about halfway and wait for the repops. if you dont sit on the stairs right where he pops, he wont aggro and fight, he runs off down the stairs and despawns, much like the odd mole does, but he is 1000 times easier to catch, cuz he an aggroing skellie(just like all the rest). Just get in his way and he will attack. all my observational info my not be totally concurrent with others obvservations, but this method works, and he spawns plenty of times. and.. heh, unless your in a group that is split up, theres no way you can cmap the mole and the crusader, cuz while your waiting on 1, the other pops and runs to despawn in a diff area. NOTE: I shouldnt say the crusader *runs*, he just walks like a skellie down the stairs and gets to his despawn point and poof.

The respawn on this guy is like 6 hours, which means you will need to spend about 30 hours camping this ******* to get the skulls with X, and pray one of them is lore othewise it will take longer. The reward for the shaman quest is a lamo cudgel upgrade! Yay!

The skull is for an Iksar Shaman Cudgel upgrade quest. A shaman needs to combine 5 regular Skulls with an X and one LORE Skull with an X in a quest box.

They finally finished the 7th and 8th quests, and the end result is an amazing mace that can be put in your range slot. So if u got fed up with camping the crusader, go back, you'll be happy if you finish all the quests.

My group killed him and he dropped a Burynai Hide Cloak. Too bad it only fits medium people out there. Why do you suppose Verant hates us gnome warriors so much?

If you think thats bad, at least you gnomes have a race specific skill i am an erudite mage and do you have any idea how hard it is to find good caster armor at lv 12?!
They hate Gnome Warriors about as much as my Halfling Cleric. Ya just have to know how to get what you want and laugh at yourself, they dont hate you, they just like you enough to let work harder. :)
