Ok so I can safely say that the shackle quest is NOT working now. We made another attempt with a cleric present and tried clicking the shackle and it didn't work..
Ok we tried to trigger the event tonight, but didn't have a cleric. does it HAVE to be a cleric clicking the shackles, or did they eliminate this with the revamp of the zone.. boo btw.. I actually liked grimling forest and Acrylia Caverns the way they were.
3 groups is way overkill, but I really couldn't tell folks not to come. I think 1 group of 60's would find this highly challenging but possible, 2 groups of 55+ should find this fun and very doable.
The Grimling High Priest is standing in a room above and west of a large room with a lava pit and a ton of untargetable mobs. You all enter the room with the High Priest, he is untargetable, after clering the skellies within. The stairs up in this room lead to a ledge, on that ledge are shackles. Get close to the shackes and an AE Root goes off, starting the event. If anyone else comes on bridge they will be rooted too. The root is dispellable, but I imagine if nobody is rooted out there the ring "fails" after the end of this wave.
If anyone leaves the room the ring will stop at the end of the current wave. Porting, gating, walking out, new folks walking in, and I assume even LD will cause the High Priest to claim victory at the end of the current wave.
The mobs seem to spawn one at a time, though you are also having room respawn, for the first wave. Each will attempt to go out on the bridge to attack the rooted person. None of them made it to me, though one was close so I Enforced Reverence on his *** and sent him back into the HP room.
By the third wave, you will generally be fighting from 1-3 mobs at once from a combination of (guessing) 54-55'ish mobs from ring spawns and the lower level room spawns.
The rooted person is then summoned back into the room and either A High Priest will spawn, or Gakkernog and a High Priest will spawn. Both have a fair amount of HP and hit hard, but really they are no more difficult than, say, Cleric Spiders in PoD, just more HP.
We had Nature's Recovery drop from High Priest, and Hammer of Souls from Gakkernog, did it 3 times saw Gakkernog only the first time. I'm curious if having multiple people rooted on ledge would affect the number of mobs spawned, since we got 2 bosses on the first go and a warrior had stepped onto bridge during our first attempt and got rooted.
Does anyone know if this mob really drops the spell KEI? The reason I ask is that every other drop on the list is a priest item (not to mention that his name is "priest"). My guild has tried this quest a few times and we have seen BoA and the sheild drop. what about KEI?

Im doing this ring quite often as i consider the shield to be good, and much less time consuming than the Buckler of insight(guildwise). To trigger the ring, you must send someone (a_cleric00) to stand on the altar who will get rooted there for the whole event. 3 waves of skeletons will spawn, but mobs will spawn one after the other and not all at the same time. 1st wave is skeletons warrior green to light blue for a 60. 2nd wave is sk and cleric skels blue for a 60. 3rd wave is war sk and cleric skels blue for a 60. this whole ring takes 42 min, so maybe 14 min each wave. after this the rooted (a_cleric00) guy will get summoned to the high priest. Either The grimling high priest spawns or High Priest Gakkernog... the named drop good stuff, the non named drop crap stuff. Watchout as you may push the high priest on the statue/door to inner acrylia and he will depop. The high priest is immuned to slow spells.
I did this quest 5 times with 2 strong groups of level 60 guyz, and it was overkill. In the 5 times, i never saw High Priest Gakkernog so we might consider him rare, or im just unlucky.. so i cant really say if 2 groups is overkill as i didnt face the level 63 priest.
Hopes this help.
