I decided to camp this guy for the piercing weapon. I loaded up the level 54 AE snare song on the bard and played only that the entire fight. The first time I killed him I kept looking for the adds but never saw them. I thought maybe the mob's mechanic had been changed. The second time I killed him I flipped Tsianvar around and this time I could see the adds spawn on top of the group. The bard snare song took care of them immediately. The DPS output of Tsianvar is almost nothing compared to other T4 named so with a bard this guy is ridiculously easy.
Soloing this guy was perhaps the trickiest named on the hunter list. The bushes, which come in pairs about 6 times in the fight are a pain and if you don't deal with them you'll soon have other adds too. Don't bother thinking of pulling the named, so clear a space around the named, leaving the roamers as late as possible. As a mage, I found that the Earth Pet was best as I could shift pet onto bushes to despawn them quite quickly. Still picked up a couple of adds but turned attention onto them as the named doesn't hit too hard and the bushes are most probably level triggered, not time.

He is indeed leashes to his spawn point, but only if you move him very far away from it. There area total of 6 phs; 3 in the inner part of the room, 3 in the outer ring. ANY seated alaran (an introspective student OR a pensive scholar) on the LOWER Library floor (Z loc=806) can be a ph for Tsianvar. During the fight he spawns bush-type adds on top of everyone (PCs or mercs) on his hate list; you have about 2-4 seconds to snare them to make them despawn before they lurch their targets around the room. These adds do not appear on Ext. Target, but you can target them the old fashioned way.
Appears this one is leashed to his spawn point. When attempting to pull him to the floor below (an empty room down there), Tsianvar popped back up top and took me with him. This was accompanied by an emote reading: Tsianvar the Studious returns to its origin with you in tow!
Spawns a pair of bush-type mobs periodically throughout the fight. These mobs are non-agro and therefore do not appear on Ext Target. Once snared, they despawn. If left unsnared, they essentially use a Complaint Lurch-type effect to drag a random player on a walk around the room. Obviously, if you have KoS faction, then you end up with a train. Lots of mobs on this floor.
