Ovex begins in his "normal" form then transforms when the hail is finished for the quest. He first appears as a jug...then a wine cask (or keg, depending on your POV), then a plant (for awhile), then another jug...but bigger...lastly, a dragon. You get the "Big Game Hunter" achievement if you kill him in this form.

Interesting - He only appeared as a wine jug for us. Maybe it has to do with how long it takes to kill him? Took us about 40 seconds to burn him down along with Xevo; who only changed once into one of those new lizard mobs from Valley.
