Once my level 27 Ranger was wandering the woods and this drake aggroed me. Well, actually I attacked him and just sat around until he charmed me. The best part was, I had my Raincaller and a quiver full of fleeting arrows. Well I guess we wandered to the sister camp, because I was shooting arrows at SOMETHING. Needless to say, I had dispatched 3 campers with only my arrows.
When I get bored, I drag my level 38 shaman along and wait to get charmed. I know, it's risky, but I just love it when it akes you cast those DD shaman spells for over 250 damage. A pity, I'm sure, but that's how the game is played. .. hmm.. I should make a list of all the people I've dispatched that way. According to the UELA, it's perfectly legal... INTERESTING!!! Wohoo!
Don't think the level range for them is that accurate. Last time i had my lvl 15 ranger wander in LFay, I got one of these Emporer Fae Drakes on Track who conned blue to me.
My husband and I decided to kill this thing. I already knew that he cast Tashan and charm, and 2 damage spells, so we were pretty well informed when going in. He was about half life, when he charmed me and I attacked my husband, nearly killing him. Then he charmed my husband after he came back from zoning from running from me, and he buffed himself AND my husband, and had him attack me. (Seems him using your spells costs no mana, so at least he doesn't run you out of mana before it wears off...) Some poor nekkid dark elf had the misfortune of standing near the zone when my husband was charmed, and started getting the life beat out of her before she managed to zone. (Sorry whoever you were, I tried to tell you he was charmed) We finally managed to kill him, and got about 4pp and a couple of gems from him though.
PS be careful, they CAN spawn 2 at once. You think one is bad.... geesh!

I was preceding to MM when I saw this mob. He conned green (lvl 30 druid), and I thought he would have good loot. Then some 16 necro (with new spells I assumed) decided to kill him. As I watched him DoT that drake, the drake charmed him and he and his pet were slugging it out!! After I was so angry at him for not even asking if I was gonna kill it, I just watched as the twinked gnome was loosing hp at a rapid pace. Then he was begging for me to heal him. I pretended I didn't have greater healing (when, in fact, I did) on me. He died and I finished the drake and pet off only to loot 2pp. Morale of story: if your gonna kill a mob and somebodies standing next to it, ask first! (I then discovered he was bound in Oasis! DUMBASS!!)
Well, I think it's fairly stupid to go after a mob that's more than 10 levels lower for the thrill of it. Yeah, you were standing right by it, but how did he know you were going to kill and why didn't you attack sooner? And to all those just letting people die infront of you...get over yourselves. I'm sure there's been times when you guys needed help. When ya'll need help, I hope no one is there for any of you so you'll learn how it feels.
Dude, you're an *******. First of all, it's only polite to leave lower lvl spawns to the people that can gain exp from them. I don't think at lvl 30 you would have gotten exp off of it. Second, when a lower lvl person asks for help, give it to him. Third, you not only didn't help the guy, but you also took the kill he probably had taken hit points from. You're an *******.
Actually I agree with the first guy. I hate when people take a spawn when your about to attack it and your right beside it without asking! Its Mean and the guy got what was comin he decided to take on the the monster why should the druid have to give greater heal to him. Its not his fault that the necro died its his on fault! End of story
I completely agree with the origional poster. <insert golf clap here>
Even if the lower level had 'right of way' because of the play nice guides (they aren't rules as gm's never frickin enforce them), he still should have asked. Who knows -- maybe the higher level needed something for a quest off the mob. It is never 'wrong' to be courtious and polite.
I would have done exactly the same thing. People shouldn't *expect* help. Wouldn't that whole situation been different if the gnome had asked for the mob and for assistance if needed? Bet you the druid would have been more than happy to assist.
hehe guess im an !#%$@ too then as I hardly ever help anyone when they attack without conning and/or taking it from me when I would help them if they asked. Hehe here goes a similar story. One day about 3 weeks ago i was camping the sisters in LFay and some guy came with 3 friends and begun to KS me (BTW we made an agreement as to spawn and who gets what) then when 2 of his friends left he and the other person (both were warriors or maybe paladins not sure) continued to kill them they could outdamage my druid who was 13 and they conned low blue to me (sad i know) but when they got a bad pull (3 sisters) i said "no help here" and they got all mad and even said that they had petitioned me but not sure never got a GM to talk to me and there were 2 on so not sure. Then they both bothered me for a while til i wandered by the DE camp and accidentally trained them to MM where they were finishing off a sister (evil i know(thank god for that higher lvl druid whom cast Skin like diamond on me)) after that they gave up and left their corpses there for 2 rl days. BTW i think oyu did the right thing by not helping. Sorry that got a bit long if you read this far grats...... i couldnt have done it i had to get up once while typing well ill stop here byeeeeeeee.
I also agree with original poster, if someone messes with me and wastes my time i dont care what any GM thinks, im gonna train on their stupid ar$e$. Plus just cuz their is a higher lv person beside you, dont think if you get in trouble my taking a mob thats too hard for you that the person will help you, i would leave the stupid necro to die too
These MOBs have a faction named Skytalons. Not really sure what else this faction is tied. Only time I have ever seen it is when I killed these critters.
While traveling LF me(16lvl Cleric)and my tank(15lvl warrior)waded in to the drakes for some slaughter and I pulled him with a Smite. We proceeded to waste him np,and no charm, must of gotten lucky.
Yes, he's an enchanter. Myself, a 25th level druid, easily kills this thing. He'll cast tashan, then charm, charm, charm until he gets ya. My tashan'd resistance was 13, and even with 10 attempts he only charmed me once. He's QUITE nasty if you're lower. He casts choke and chaotic feedback, so be wary if you don't have great magic resistance/HPs and are under level 18..
SAME HERE! THAT CHARM EL STINKO'z!!!!! Beat me up and then charmed me buffed all the faedrakes while i was being murdered by my pet and then sent me after my pet charm left me and i RAN to MM zone made it BARELY and came back out and my pet was after some lvl 50 afk wizard...boy was he pissed when he came back from afk....eek
