His place holders are most of the mobs in this zone (aqua goblins, rats, snakes & skeletons). took about 24+ hours of killing everything in the water before he finally spawned. Jetsam and Squalslither spawned four times each and Barnaclebones spawned twice before Flotsam did, leading me to believe that Flotsam is more rare than the others. When he did finally spawn it was in the water near "the fab four".

you know the one in the game that gets me.. n cracks me up.. has anyone noticed that the chetari in velious kinda look like they are supposed to be some twisted version of the rabbitt that "has fowl nasty teeth" from monty pythons holy grail lol.. maybe its just me lmao.. i died killing them cause i was laughin to hard lol leave it to verant to let u get to lvl 55 to go kill rabbitts on two feet =P taygarr wiz of the 55th season the seventh hammer
If you're so itching to talk about Monty Python referances, go listen to the guards in Marus Seru near the entrance to Sanctus Seru on Luclin. Whenever they kill a mobby, they say 'Nobody suspects the Sanctus inquisition!' (A spoof off 'Nobody suspects the Spanish Inquisition' from Monty Python's Flying Circus collection of 'Now For Something Completly Different') Just a little tidbit. These things are definatly not level 11, either =P Just so you know.
IF you are gonna pick on names being copied, there is much better fodder out there than picking on simple dictionary words that happen to be in common with other games. (At least 2 of the halflings in RV take their names from characters in old DnD adventures and what about the name of the wolves in Everfrost? White Wolf?)
This rat is really quite funny, really.... got a bad temper.
We were hunting some components for a friend's Ro Armour quest, when this rat decided to attack one of our party. Level 50 warrior, and this stupid rat decided to attack him....
He just ignored the rat, and went about killing placeholders... and eventually the rat attacked me. (37 wizzie). Nuke for 320, and he's gone. Got less HP's than that, is all I know.
Dropped the coin... anybody have any idea what it's for, or what it's worth?
This rat is the most stuborn creature I know of. It loves to swim and will honestly hesitate before chasing you out of the water. TRY to pull it on land or it will cause problems when aqua's see you in their waters.

It looks like it's up to me to set things straight.
Jetsam and flotsam are terms used by those on ships. Jetsam is discarded cargo or equipment found washed ashore, while flotsam is Wreckage or cargo that remains afloat after a ship has sunk. Verant did not name these rats after anything resembling Metallica; they used the words jetsam and flotsam to refer to things washed ashore, which is certainly applicable in Dagnor's Cauldron.
BS you FOOL!! they names em after his last band, that whole "ship jargon" is a BS answer given by a Metallica HATER!! YOU'RE A HATER!! A HATER!! go get em Metallicops!!!
Even if i feel bad continuing this OT thread, this post is so stupid i cant hold my peace... The termes flotsam and jetsam are used in Jamce Joyces 'Finnegans wake', check the time order and you will know :)

Actually, considering the names of two Barbarians in the southern portion of West Karana, I'd think at least one of the EQ designers are serious Metallica fans. This makes it definitely possible its intended as both a nautical and a Metallica reference. A double pun. :)
Oh, these two barbarians? Lars and Ulrich McMannus, of course. :)
If anyone has any idea where Flotsam generaly walks, I would love to find out. I have been searching Dagnor's Cauldron for a while now, and have yet to see this rat =(
Flotsam is not L20--at least the one I killed yesterday was green to me at L17. He spawns near the Friendly NPC camp (the Fab 4), not far from the BB zone. He was on the rocks by the lake. I killed him pretty easily. His loot was a Giant Rat Tail (a whip, 1 HS, dmg 5, dly 27). He also had a Giant Rat Ear and a Chunk of Rat Meat on him. I think Jetsam is the L20 one, but I have yet to find him.
